ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥ nadar kareh je aapanee taan aape laihi savaar | But if the Lord casts His Glance of Grace, then He Himself embellishes us. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨੑੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਆਏ ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੬੩॥ naanak guramukh jinaee dhiaaeaa aae se paravaan |63| O Nanak, the Gurmukhs meditate on the Lord; blessed and approved is their coming into the world. ||63|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਭਗਵੀ ਕਪੜੀ ਜੋਗੁ ਨ ਮੈਲੇ ਵੇਸਿ ॥ jog na bhagavee kaparree jog na maile ves | Yoga is not obtained by wearing saffron robes; Yoga is not obtained by wearing dirty robes. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਜੋਗੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ॥੬੪॥ naanak ghar baitthiaa jog paaeeai satigur kai upades |64| O Nanak, Yoga is obtained even while sitting in your own home, by following the Teachings of the True Guru. ||64|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਚਾਰੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਜੇ ਭਵਹਿ ਬੇਦ ਪੜਹਿ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਿ ॥ chaare kunddaa je bhaveh bed parreh jug chaar | You may wander in all four directions, and read the Vedas throughout the four ages. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਭੇਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੬੫॥ naanak saachaa bhettai har man vasai paaveh mokh duaar |65| O Nanak, if you meet with the True Guru, the Lord shall come to dwell within your mind, and you shall find the door of salvation. ||65|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਮਤਿ ਭਵੀ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਚਲ ਚਿਤ ॥ naanak hukam varatai khasam kaa mat bhavee fireh chal chit | O Nanak, the Hukam, the Command of your Lord and Master, is prevailing. The intellectually confused person wanders around lost, misled by his fickle consciousness. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸੁਖ ਕਿ ਪੁਛਹਿ ਮਿਤ ॥ manamukh sau kar dosatee sukh ki puchheh mit | If you make friends with the self-willed manmukhs, O friend, who can you ask for peace? - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖ ਸਉ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਉ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ॥ guramukh sau kar dosatee satigur sau laae chit | Make friends with the Gurmukhs, and focus your consciousness on the True Guru. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੀ ਮਿਤ ॥੬੬॥ jaman maran kaa mool katteeai taan sukh hovee mit |66| The root of birth and death will be cut away, and then, you shall find peace, O friend. ||66|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਭੁਲਿਆਂ ਆਪਿ ਸਮਝਾਇਸੀ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥ bhuliaan aap samajhaaeisee jaa kau nadar kare | The Lord Himself instructs those who are misguided, when He casts His Glance of Grace. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਕਰਣ ਪਲਾਹ ਕਰੇ ॥੬੭॥ naanak nadaree baaharee karan palaah kare |67| O Nanak, those who are not blessed by His Glance of Grace, cry and weep and wail. ||67|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿਨੑਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥ vaddabhaageea sohaaganee jinaa guramukh miliaa har raae | Blessed and very fortunate are those happy soul-brides who, as Gurmukh, meet their Sovereign Lord King. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ antar jot paragaaseea naanak naam samaae |1| The Light of God shines within them; O Nanak, they are absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੋਇ ॥ vaahu vaahu satigur purakh hai jin sach jaataa soe | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the Primal Being, who has realized the True Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ jit miliai tikh utarai tan man seetal hoe | Meeting Him, thirst is quenched, and the body and mind are cooled and soothed. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਮਤੁ ਸਭ ਕੋਇ ॥ vaahu vaahu satigur sat purakh hai jis no samat sabh koe | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, the True Primal Being, who looks upon all alike. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਤੁਲਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ vaahu vaahu satigur niravair hai jis nindaa usatat tul hoe | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who has no hatred; slander and praise are all the same to Him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ vaahu vaahu satigur sujaan hai jis antar braham veechaar | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the All-knowing True Guru, who has realized God within. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰੁ ॥ vaahu vaahu satigur nirankaar hai jis ant na paaraavaar | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the Formless True Guru, who has no end or limitation. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਸੋਇ ॥ vaahu vaahu satiguroo hai ji sach drirraae soe | Waaho! Waaho! Blessed and Great is the True Guru, who implants the Truth within. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ naanak satigur vaahu vaahu jis te naam paraapat hoe |2| O Nanak, Blessed and Great is the True Guru, through whom the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is received. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥ har prabh sachaa sohilaa guramukh naam govind | For the Gurmukh, the true Song of Praise is to chant the Name of the Lord God. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ॥ anadin naam salaahanaa har japiaa man aanand | Chanting the Praises of the Lord, their minds are in ecstasy. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦੁ ॥ vaddabhaagee har paaeaa pooran paramaanand | By great good fortune, they find the Lord, the Embodiment of perfect, supreme bliss. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੩॥ jan naanak naam salaahiaa bahurr na man tan bhang |3| Servant Nanak praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord; no obstacle will block his mind or body. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੀਆ ਸਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਕਿਉ ਸਜਣ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ॥ moon pireea sau nehu kiau sajan mileh piaariaa | I am in love with my Beloved; how can I meet my Dear Friend? - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਢੂਢੇਦੀ ਤਿਨ ਸਜਣ ਸਚਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ hau dtoodtedee tin sajan sach savaariaa | I seek that friend, who is embellished with Truth. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੈਡਾ ਮਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ satigur maiddaa mit hai je milai ta ihu man vaariaa | The True Guru is my Friend; if I meet Him, I will offer this mind as a sacrifice to Him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦੇਂਦਾ ਮੂੰ ਪਿਰੁ ਦਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿਆ ॥ dendaa moon pir das har sajan sirajanahaariaa | He has shown me my Beloved Lord, my Friend, the Creator. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਪਿਰੁ ਭਾਲੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਦਿਖਾਲਿਆ ॥੪॥ naanak hau pir bhaalee aapanaa satigur naal dikhaaliaa |4| O Nanak, I was searching for my Beloved; the True Guru has shown me that He has been with me all the time. ||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਖੜੀ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਪੰਧੁ ਮਤੁ ਮੂੰ ਸਜਣੁ ਆਵਏ ॥ hau kharree nihaalee pandh mat moon sajan aave | I stand by the side of the road, waiting for You; O my Friend, I hope that You will come. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਅਜੁ ਮੈ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਏ ॥ ko aan milaavai aj mai pir mel milaave | If only someone would come today and unite me in Union with my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
