ਕਬੀਰ ਚੁਗੈ ਚਿਤਾਰੈ ਭੀ ਚੁਗੈ ਚੁਗਿ ਚੁਗਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥ kabeer chugai chitaarai bhee chugai chug chug chitaare | Kabeer, the flamingo pecks and feeds, and remembers her chicks. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਚਰਹਿ ਕੂੰਜ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧੨੩॥ jaise bachareh koonj man maaeaa mamataa re |123| She pecks and pecks and feeds, and remembers them always. Her chicks are very dear to her, just like the love of wealth and Maya is dear to the mortal’s mind. ||123|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਅੰਬਰ ਘਨਹਰੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਬਰਖਿ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਤਾਲ ॥ kabeer anbar ghanahar chhaaeaa barakh bhare sar taal | Kabeer, the sky is overcast and cloudy; the ponds and lakes are overflowing with water. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਜਿਉ ਤਰਸਤ ਰਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਹਵਾਲੁ ॥੧੨੪॥ chaatrik jiau tarasat rahai tin ko kaun havaal |124| Like the rainbird, some remain thirsty - what is their condition? ||124|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਚਕਈ ਜਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਬੀਛੁਰੈ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਰਭਾਤਿ ॥ kabeer chakee jau nis beechhurai aae milai parabhaat | Kabeer, the chakvi duck is separated from her love through the night, but in the morning, she meets him again. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੋ ਨਰ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਨਾ ਦਿਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੧੨੫॥ jo nar bichhure raam siau naa din mile na raat |125| Those who are separated from the Lord do not meet Him in the day, or in the night. ||125|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਰੈਨਾਇਰ ਬਿਛੋਰਿਆ ਰਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਖ ਮਝੂਰਿ ॥ kabeer rainaaeir bichhoriaa rahu re sankh majhoor | Kabeer: O conch shell, remain in the ocean. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੇਵਲ ਦੇਵਲ ਧਾਹੜੀ ਦੇਸਹਿ ਉਗਵਤ ਸੂਰ ॥੧੨੬॥ deval deval dhaaharree deseh ugavat soor |126| If you are separated from it, you shall scream at sunrise from temple to temple. ||126|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਾਗੁ ਰੋਇ ਭੈ ਦੁਖ ॥ kabeer sootaa kiaa kareh jaag roe bhai dukh | Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Wake up and cry in fear and pain. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬਾਸਾ ਗੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਸੋਵੈ ਸੁਖ ॥੧੨੭॥ jaa kaa baasaa gor meh so kiau sovai sukh |127| Those who live in the grave - how can they sleep in peace? ||127|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਠਿ ਕਿ ਨ ਜਪਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ kabeer sootaa kiaa kareh utth ki na japeh muraar | Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Why not rise up and meditate on the Lord? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸੋਵਨੁ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਲਾਂਬੇ ਗੋਡ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੧੨੮॥ eik din sovan hoeigo laanbe godd pasaar |128| One day you shall sleep with your legs outstretched. ||128|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਹੁ ਅਰੁ ਜਾਗੁ ॥ kabeer sootaa kiaa kareh baitthaa rahu ar jaag | Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Wake up, and sit up. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਤੇ ਬੀਛੁਰਾ ਤਾ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੧੨੯॥ jaa ke sang te beechhuraa taa hee ke sang laag |129| Attach yourself to the One, from whom you have been separated. ||129|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਗੈਲ ਨ ਛੋਡੀਐ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਾਉ ॥ kabeer sant kee gail na chhoddeeai maarag laagaa jaau | Kabeer, do not leave the Society of the Saints; walk upon this Path. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਪੁੰਨੀਤ ਹੋਇ ਭੇਟਤ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ॥੧੩੦॥ pekhat hee puneet hoe bhettat japeeai naau |130| See them, and be sanctified; meet them, and chant the Name. ||130|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੀਐ ਦੂਰਹਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਭਾਗਿ ॥ kabeer saakat sang na keejeeai dooreh jaaeeai bhaag | Kabeer, do not associate with the faithless cynics; run far away from them. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਸਨੁ ਕਾਰੋ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਤਉ ਕਛੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਦਾਗੁ ॥੧੩੧॥ baasan kaaro paraseeai tau kachh laagai daag |131| If you touch a vessel stained with soot, some of the soot will stick to you. ||131|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਰਾ ਪਹੂੰਚਿਓ ਆਇ ॥ kabeeraa raam na chetio jaraa pahoonchio aae | Kabeer, you have not contemplated the Lord, and now old age has overtaken you. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲਾਗੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੇ ਅਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੩੨॥ laagee mandir duaar te ab kiaa kaadtiaa jaae |132| Now that the door of your mansion is on fire, what can you take out? ||132|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਰਨੁ ਸੋ ਭਇਓ ਜੋ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥ kabeer kaaran so bheo jo keeno karataar | Kabeer, the Creator does whatever He pleases. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਸਰੁ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਏਕੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੧੩੩॥ tis bin doosar ko nahee ekai sirajanahaar |133| There is none other than Him; He alone is the Creator of all. ||133|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਫਲ ਲਾਗੇ ਫਲਨਿ ਪਾਕਨਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਆਂਬ ॥ kabeer fal laage falan paakan laage aanb | Kabeer, the fruit trees are bearing fruit, and the mangoes are becoming ripe. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾਇ ਪਹੂਚਹਿ ਖਸਮ ਕਉ ਜਉ ਬੀਚਿ ਨ ਖਾਹੀ ਕਾਂਬ ॥੧੩੪॥ jaae pahoocheh khasam kau jau beech na khaahee kaanb |134| They will reach the owner, only if the crows do not eat them first. ||134|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਮੋਲਿ ਲੇ ਮਨਹਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ kabeer tthaakur poojeh mol le manahatth teerath jaeh | Kabeer, some buy idols and worship them; in their stubborn-mindedness, they make pilgrimages to sacred shrines. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗੁ ਧਰਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਭਟਕਾ ਖਾਹਿ ॥੧੩੫॥ dekhaa dekhee svaang dhar bhoole bhattakaa khaeh |135| They look at one another, and wear religious robes, but they are deluded and lost. ||135|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਹਨੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਪੂਜੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ kabeer paahan paramesur keea poojai sabh sansaar | Kabeer, someone sets up a stone idol and all the world worships it as the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਸ ਭਰਵਾਸੇ ਜੋ ਰਹੇ ਬੂਡੇ ਕਾਲੀ ਧਾਰ ॥੧੩੬॥ eis bharavaase jo rahe boodde kaalee dhaar |136| Those who hold to this belief will be drowned in the river of darkness. ||136|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਗਦ ਕੀ ਓਬਰੀ ਮਸੁ ਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਪਾਟ ॥ kabeer kaagad kee obaree mas ke karam kapaatt | Kabeer, the paper is the prison, and the ink of rituals are the bars on the windows. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਹਨ ਬੋਰੀ ਪਿਰਥਮੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪਾੜੀ ਬਾਟ ॥੧੩੭॥ paahan boree pirathamee panddit paarree baatt |137| The stone idols have drowned the world, and the Pandits, the religious scholars, have plundered it on the way. ||137|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਲਿ ਕਰੰਤਾ ਅਬਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਅਬ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੁਇ ਤਾਲ ॥ kabeer kaal karantaa abeh kar ab karataa sue taal | Kabeer, that which you have to do tomorrow - do it today instead; and that which you have to do now - do it immediately! - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਛੈ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਜਉ ਸਿਰ ਪਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਲੁ ॥੧੩੮॥ paachhai kachhoo na hoeigaa jau sir par aavai kaal |138| Later on, you will not be able to do anything, when death hangs over your head. ||138|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਐਸਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜੈਸੀ ਧੋਈ ਲਾਖ ॥ kabeer aisaa jant ik dekhiaa jaisee dhoee laakh | Kabeer, I have seen a person, who is as shiny as washed wax. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੀਸੈ ਚੰਚਲੁ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਨਾ ਮਤਿ ਹੀਨਾ ਨਾਪਾਕ ॥੧੩੯॥ deesai chanchal bahu gunaa mat heenaa naapaak |139| He seems very clever and very virtuous, but in reality, he is without understanding, and corrupt. ||139|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਕਉ ਜਮੁ ਨ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਸਕਾਰ ॥ kabeer meree budh kau jam na karai tisakaar | Kabeer, the Messenger of Death shall not compromise my understanding. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਜਮੂਆ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਸੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਪਰਵਿਦਗਾਰ ॥੧੪੦॥ jin ihu jamooaa sirajiaa su japiaa paravidagaar |140| I have meditated on the Lord, the Cherisher, who created this Messenger of Death. ||140|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕਸਤੂਰੀ ਭਇਆ ਭਵਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਦਾਸ ॥ kabeer kasatooree bheaa bhavar bhe sabh daas | Kabeer, the Lord is like musk; all His slaves are like bumble bees. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
