ਰਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਇਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਾਜਿ ਹੈ ॥ raam simar raam simar ihai terai kaaj hai | Meditate in remembrance on the Lord - meditate on the Lord; this alone shall be of use to you. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਕੋ ਸੰਗੁ ਤਿਆਗੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੂ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਲਾਗੁ ॥ maaeaa ko sang tiaag prabh joo kee saran laag | Abandon your association with Maya, and take shelter in the Sanctuary of God. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਜਗਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨੁ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਝੂਠੋ ਸਭ ਸਾਜੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jagat sukh maan mithiaa jhoottho sabh saaj hai |1| rahaau | Remember that the pleasures of the world are false; this whole show is just an illusion. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਰਾਮੁ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਭਜੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਿਰਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥ raam bhaj raam bhaj janam siraat hai | Meditate on the Lord - vibrate on the Lord; your life is slipping away. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਕਹਉ ਕਹਾ ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹ ਕਿਉ ਗਵਾਰ ॥ khau kahaa baar baar samajhat neh kiau gavaar | Why am I telling you this again and again? You fool - why don’t you understand? - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਬਿਨਸਤ ਨਹ ਲਗੈ ਬਾਰ ਓਰੇ ਸਮ ਗਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ binasat neh lagai baar ore sam gaat hai |1| rahaau | Your body is like a hail-stone; it melts away in no time at all. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਸਗਲ ਭਰਮ ਡਾਰਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇਹਿ ॥ sagal bharam ddaar dehi gobind ko naam lehi | So give up all your doubts, and utter the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਅੰਤਿ ਬਾਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਇਹੈ ਏਕੁ ਜਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ant baar sang terai ihai ek jaat hai |1| At the very last moment, this alone shall go along with you. ||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਿਉ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੌ ਜਸੁ ਹੀਏ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ bikhiaa bikh jiau bisaar prabh kau jas hee dhaar | Forget the poisonous sins of corruption, and enshrine the Praises of God in your heart. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਬਿਹਾਤੁ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੨॥ naanak jan keh pukaar aausar bihaat hai |2|2| Servant Nanak proclaims that this opportunity is slipping away. ||2||2|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਉਨ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ re man kaun gat hoe hai teree | O mortal, what will your condition be? - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਇਹ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋ ਤਉ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਕਾਨਿ ॥ eih jag meh raam naam so tau nahee sunio kaan | In this world, you have not listened to the Lord’s Name. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਬਿਖਿਅਨ ਸਿਉ ਅਤਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਿ ਮਤਿ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਫੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bikhian siau at lubhaan mat naahin feree |1| rahaau | You are totally engrossed in corruption and sin; you have not turned your mind away from them at all. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਮਾਨਸ ਕੋ ਜਨਮੁ ਲੀਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਹ ਨਿਮਖ ਕੀਨੁ ॥ maanas ko janam leen simaran neh nimakh keen | You obtained this human life, but you have not remembered the Lord in meditation, even for an instant. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਦਾਰਾ ਸੁਖ ਭਇਓ ਦੀਨੁ ਪਗਹੁ ਪਰੀ ਬੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ daaraa sukh bheo deen pagahu paree beree |1| For the sake of pleasure, you have become subservient to your woman, and now your feet are bound. ||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਹ ਕਿਉ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੨॥੩॥ simarat neh kiau muraar maaeaa jaa kee cheree |2|3| Why not meditate on the Lord? Even Maya is His slave. ||2||3|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਮਝਤ ਨਹ ਰੇ ਅਜਾਨ ॥ nis din sun kai puraan samajhat neh re ajaan | Night and day, you listen to the Puraanas, but you do not understand them, you ignorant fool! - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਕਾਲੁ ਤਉ ਪਹੂਚਿਓ ਆਨਿ ਕਹਾ ਜੈਹੈ ਭਾਜਿ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kaal tau pahoochio aan kahaa jaihai bhaaj re |1| rahaau | Death has arrived; now where will you run? ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
