ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਦੋਊ ਭਏ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਜਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪੀਕ ॥੧॥ gaavat sunat doaoo bhe mukate jinaa guramukh khin har peek |1| Both the singer and the listener are liberated, when, as Gurmukh, they drink in the Lord’s Name, even for an instant. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸੁ ਟੀਕ ॥ merai man har har raam naam ras tteek | The Sublime Essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is enshrined within my mind. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੀਤਲ ਜਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੀਆ ਰਸੁ ਝੀਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ guramukh naam seetal jal paaeaa har har naam peea ras jheek |1| rahaau | As Gurmukh, I have obtained the cooling, soothing Water of the Naam. I eagerly drink in the sublime essence of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਊਜਲ ਟੀਕ ॥ jin har hiradai preet lagaanee tinaa masatak aoojal tteek | Those whose hearts are imbued with the Love of the Lord have the mark of radiant purity upon their foreheads. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਊਪਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਡਵਾ ਸਸਿ ਕੀਕ ॥੨॥ har jan sobhaa sabh jag aoopar jiau vich uddavaa sas keek |2| The Glory of the Lord’s humble servant is manifest throughout the world, like the moon among the stars. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸਿਓ ਤਿਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਫੀਕ ॥ jin har hiradai naam na vasio tin sabh kaaraj feek | Those whose hearts are not filled with the Lord’s Name - all their affairs are worthless and insipid. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਕਰੈ ਦੇਹ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਕਟੇ ਨਕ ਕੀਕ ॥੩॥ jaise seegaar karai deh maanukh naam binaa nakatte nak keek |3| They may adorn and decorate their bodies, but without the Naam, they look like their noses have been cut off. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਮਈਆ ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਇ ਸਭ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਈਕ ॥ ghatt ghatt rameea ramat raam raae sabh varatai sabh meh eek | The Sovereign Lord permeates each and every heart; the One Lord is all-pervading everywhere. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਘਰੀ ਮੀਕ ॥੪॥੩॥ jan naanak kau har kirapaa dhaaree gur bachan dhiaaeo gharee meek |4|3| The Lord has showered His Mercy upon servant Nanak; through the Word of the Guru’s Teachings, I have meditated on the Lord in an instant. ||4||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਅਗਮ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮ ਕਹੇ ॥ agam deaal kripaa prabh dhaaree mukh har har naam ham kahe | God, the Inaccessible and Merciful, has showered me with His Mercy; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, with my mouth. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਲਹੇ ॥੧॥ patit paavan har naam dhiaaeo sabh kilabikh paap lahe |1| I meditate on the Name of the Lord, the Purifier of sinners; I am rid of all my sins and mistakes. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ॥ jap man raam naam rav rahe | O mind, chant the Name of the All-pervading Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਲਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ deen deaal dukh bhanjan gaaeo guramat naam padaarath lahe |1| rahaau | I sing the Praises of the Lord, Merciful to the meek, Destroyer of pain. Following the Guru’s Teachings, I gather in the Wealth of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰਿ ਨਗਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਸਿਓ ਮਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਹੇ ॥ kaaeaa nagar nagar har basio mat guramat har har sahe | The Lord abides in the body-village; through the Wisdom of the Guru’s Teachings, the Lord, Har, Har, is revealed. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਰੀਰਿ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੇ ॥੨॥ sareer sarovar naam har pragattio ghar mandar har prabh lahe |2| In the lake of the body, the Lord’s Name has been revealed. Within my own home and mansion, I have obtained the Lord God. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਨਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਉਦਿਆਨੇ ਤੇ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਹੇ ॥ jo nar bharam bharam udiaane te saakat moorr muhe | Those beings who wander in the wilderness of doubt - those faithless cynics are foolish, and are plundered. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨਾਭਿ ਬਸੈ ਬਾਸੁ ਬਸਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਝਾਰ ਗਹੇ ॥੩॥ jiau mrig naabh basai baas basanaa bhram bhramio jhaar gahe |3| They are like the deer: the scent of musk comes from its own navel, but it wanders and roams around, searching for it in the bushes. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਹੇ ॥ tum vadd agam agaadh bodh prabh mat devahu har prabh lahe | You are Great and Unfathomable; Your Wisdom, God, is Profound and Incomprehensible. Please bless me with that wisdom, by which I might attain You, O Lord God. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੪॥ jan naanak kau gur haath sir dhario har raam naam rav rahe |4|4| The Guru has placed His Hand upon servant Nanak; he chants the Name of the Lord. ||4||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਡਫਾ ॥ man laagee preet raam naam har har japio har prabh vaddafaa | My mind is in love with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; I meditate on the Great Lord God. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਖਾਨੇ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਫਾ ॥੧॥ satigur bachan sukhaane heearai har dhaaree har prabh kripafaa |1| The Word of the True Guru has become pleasing to my heart. The Lord God has showered me with His Grace. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਫਾ ॥ mere man bhaj raam naam har nimakhafaa | O my mind, vibrate and meditate on the Lord’s Name every instant. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਬਸਫਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har har daan deeo gur poorai har naamaa man tan basafaa |1| rahaau | The Perfect Guru has blessed me with the gift of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. The Lord’s Name abides in my mind and body. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰਿ ਵਸਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰਪਫਾ ॥ kaaeaa nagar vasio ghar mandar jap sobhaa guramukh karapafaa | The Lord abides in the body-village, in my home and mansion. As Gurmukh, I meditate on His Glory. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰਫਾ ॥੨॥ halat palat jan bhe suhele mukh aoojal guramukh tarafaa |2| Here and hereafter, the Lord’s humble servants are embellished and exalted; their faces are radiant; as Gurmukh, they are carried across. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨਭਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਫਾ ॥ anbhau har har har liv laagee har ur dhaario gur nimakhafaa | I am lovingly attuned to the Fearless Lord, Har, Har, Har; through the Guru, I have enshrined the Lord within my heart in an instant. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੇ ਦੋਖ ਸਭ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਏ ਇਕ ਪਲਫਾ ॥੩॥ kott kott ke dokh sabh jan ke har door kee ik palafaa |3| Millions upon millions of the faults and mistakes of the Lord’s humble servant are all taken away in an instant. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਜਨ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਜਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਮੁਖਫਾ ॥ tumare jan tum hee te jaane prabh jaanio jan te mukhafaa | Your humble servants are known only through You, God; knowing You, they becomes supreme. - Guru Ramdas Ji
