ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਿ ਜਗੰਨਾਥੇ ॥ mere man jap jap jaganaathe | O my mind, chant and meditate on the Master of the Universe. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gur upades har naam dhiaaeo sabh kilabikh dukh laathe |1| rahaau | Through the Guru’s Teachings, meditate on the Lord’s Name, and be rid of all the painful past sins. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਰਸਨਾ ਏਕ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਬਹੁ ਰਸੁਨਥੇ ॥ rasanaa ek jas gaae na saakai bahu keejai bahu rasunathe | I have only one tongue - I cannot sing His Praises. Please bless me with many, many tongues. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਾਰ ਬਾਰ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲ ਸਭਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਨਥੇ ॥੧॥ baar baar khin pal sabh gaaveh gun keh na sakeh prabh tumanathe |1| Again and again, each and every instant, with all of them, I would sing His Glorious Praises; but even then, I would not be able to sing all of Your Praises, God. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮ ਬਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਲੋਚਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਿਖਨਥੇ ॥ ham bahu preet lagee prabh suaamee ham lochah prabh dikhanathe | I am so deeply in love with God, my Lord and Master; I long to see God’s Vision. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮ ਬਡ ਦਾਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੀਅਨ ਕੇ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਹਮ ਬਿਰਥੇ ॥੨॥ tum badd daate jeea jeean ke tum jaanahu ham birathe |2| You are the Great Giver of all beings and creatures; only You know our inner pain. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਕਹੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਦਿਨਥੇ ॥ koee maarag panth bataavai prabh kaa kahu tin kau kiaa dinathe | If only someone would show me the Way, the Path of God. Tell me - what could I give him? - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਅਰਪਿ ਅਰਾਪਉ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਥੇ ॥੩॥ sabh tan man arpau arap araapau koee melai prabh milathe |3| I would surrender, offer and dedicate all my body and mind to him; if only someone would unite me in God’s Union! ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਹੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਮ ਤੁਛ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਰਨਥੇ ॥ har ke gun bahut bahut bahu sobhaa ham tuchh kar kar baranathe | The Glorious Praises of the Lord are so many and numerous; I can describe only a tiny bit of them. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਮਰਥੇ ॥੪॥੩॥ hamaree mat vasagat prabh tumarai jan naanak ke prabh samarathe |4|3| My intellect is under Your control, God; You are the All-powerful Lord God of servant Nanak. ||4||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਅਕਥ ਸੁਨਥਈ ॥ mere man jap har gun akath sunathee | O my mind, chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord, which are said to be inexpressible. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧਰਮੁ ਅਰਥੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਾਮੁ ਮੋਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਲਗਿ ਫਿਰਥਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dharam arath sabh kaam mokh hai jan peechhai lag firathee |1| rahaau | Rightousness and Dharmic faith, success and prosperity, pleasure, the fulfillment of desires and liberation - all follow the humble servant of the Lord like a shadow. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਡਭਾਗ ਮਥਈ ॥ so har har naam dhiaavai har jan jis baddabhaag mathee | That humble servant of the Lord who has such good fortune written on his forehead meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਹ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਤਹ ਛੁਟੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਥਈ ॥੧॥ jeh darageh prabh lekhaa maagai teh chhuttai naam dhiaaeithee |1| In that Court, where God calls for the accounts, there, you shall be saved only by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮਰੇ ਦੋਖ ਬਹੁ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਲਗਥਈ ॥ hamare dokh bahu janam janam ke dukh haumai mail lagathee | I am stained with the filth of the mistakes of countless lifetimes, the pain and pollution of egotism. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਲਿ ਨਾਵਾਏ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਗਥਈ ॥੨॥ gur dhaar kripaa har jal naavaae sabh kilabikh paap gathee |2| Showering His Mercy, the Guru bathed me in the Water of the Lord, and all my sins and mistakes were taken away. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਕੈ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਜਥਈ ॥ jan kai rid antar prabh suaamee jan har har naam bhajathee | God, our Lord and Master, is deep within the hearts of His humble servants. They vibrate the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਹ ਅੰਤੀ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਤਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਥਈ ॥੩॥ jeh antee aausar aae banat hai teh raakhai naam saathee |3| And when that very last moment comes, then the Naam is our Best Friend and Protector. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਜਗੰਨਥਈ ॥ jan teraa jas gaaveh har har prabh har japio jaganathee | Your humble servants sing Your Praises, O Lord, Har, Har; they chant and meditate on the Lord God, the Master of the Universe. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਰਖੁ ਬੁਡਥਈ ॥੪॥੪॥ jan naanak ke prabh raakhe suaamee ham paathar rakh buddathee |4|4| O God, my Saving Grace, Lord and Master of servant Nanak, please save me, the sinking stone. ||4||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਮਰੀ ਚਿਤਵਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ hamaree chitavanee har prabh jaanai | Only the Lord God knows my innermost thoughts. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਉਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਹਿਆ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aaur koee nind karai har jan kee prabh taa kaa kahiaa ik til nahee maanai |1| rahaau | If someone slanders the humble servant of the Lord, God does not believe even a tiny bit of what he says. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਉਰ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਅਚੁਤ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਭਗਵਾਨੈ ॥ aaur sabh tiaag sevaa kar achut jo sabh te aooch tthaakur bhagavaanai | So give up everything else, and serve the Imperishable; The Lord God, our Lord and Master, is the Highest of all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਕਾਲੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਚਰਨੀ ਆਇ ਪਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੧॥ har sevaa te kaal johi na saakai charanee aae pavai har jaanai |1| When you serve the Lord, Death cannot even see you. It comes and falls at the feet of those who know the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ਪੈ ਕਾਨੈ ॥ jaa kau raakh lee meraa suaamee taa kau sumat dee pai kaanai | Those whom my Lord and Master protects - a balanced wisdom comes to their ears. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕੋਈ ਅਪਰਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਾਨੈ ॥੨॥ taa kau koee apar na saakai jaa kee bhagat meraa prabh maanai |2| No one can equal them; their devotional worship is accepted by my God. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚੋਜ ਵਿਡਾਨ ਦੇਖੁ ਜਨ ਜੋ ਖੋਟਾ ਖਰਾ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥ har ke choj viddaan dekh jan jo khottaa kharaa ik nimakh pachhaanai | So behold the Wondrous and Amazing Play of the Lord. In an instant, He distinguishes the genuine from the counterfeit. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਰਿਦ ਸੁਧ ਮਿਲੇ ਖੋਟੇ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੈ ॥੩॥ taa te jan kau anad bheaa hai rid sudh mile khotte pachhutaanai |3| And that is why His humble servant is in bliss. Those of pure heart meet together, while the evil ones regret and repent. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤੇ ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਕੁ ਮਾਗਉ ਤੁਝ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਨੈ ॥ tum har daate samarath suaamee ik maagau tujh paasahu har daanai | Lord, You are the Great Giver, our All-powerful Lord and Master; O Lord, I beg for only one gift from You. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਦ ਬਸਹਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਾਨੈ ॥੪॥੫॥ jan naanak kau har kripaa kar deejai sad baseh ridai mohi har charaanai |4|5| Lord, please bless servant Nanak with Your Grace, that Your Feet may abide forever within my heart. ||4||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
