ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ tere jan dhiaaveh ik man ik chit te saadhoo sukh paaveh jap har har naam nidhaan | Your humble servants focus their consciousness and meditate on You with one-pointed mind; those Holy beings find peace, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, the Treasure of Bliss. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥ ausatat kareh prabh tereea mil saadhoo saadh janaa gur satiguroo bhagavaan |1| They sing Your Praises, God, meeting with the Holy, the Holy people, and the Guru, the True Guru, O Lord God. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਤੂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਤਰੇ ਭਵ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨ ॥ jin kai hiradai too suaamee te sukh fal paaveh te tare bhav sindh te bhagat har jaan | They alone obtain the fruit of peace, within whose hearts You, O my Lord and Master, abide. They cross over the terrifying world-ocean - they are known as the Lord’s devotees. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਮ ਲਾਇ ਹਰੇ ਹਮ ਲਾਇ ਹਰੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਤੂ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੨॥ tin sevaa ham laae hare ham laae hare jan naanak ke har too too too too too bhagavaan |2|6|12| Please enjoin me to their service, Lord, please enjoin me to their service. ਗਾਈਐ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ॥ gaaeeai gun gopaal kripaa nidh | Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the World, the Treasure of Mercy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਖ ਬਿਦਾਰਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਇ ਸਗਲ ਸਿਧਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dukh bidaaran sukhadaate satigur jaa kau bhettat hoe sagal sidh |1| rahaau | The True Guru is the Destroyer of pain, the Giver of peace; meeting Him, one is totally fulfilled. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੈ ॥ simarat naam maneh saadhaarai | Meditate in remembrance on the Naam, the Support of the mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧੀ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ kott paraadhee khin meh taarai |1| Millions of sinners are carried across in an instant. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥ jaa kau cheet aavai gur apanaa | Whoever remembers his Guru, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਤਿਲੁ ਸੁਪਨਾ ॥੨॥ taa kau dookh nahee til supanaa |2| shall not suffer sorrow, even in dreams. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ jaa kau satigur apanaa raakhai | Whoever keeps his Guru enshrined within - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੩॥ so jan har ras rasanaa chaakhai |3|
- that humble being tastes the sublime essence of the Lord with his tongue. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥ halat palat mukh aoojal bheaa |4|1| here and herafter, my face is radiant. ||4||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਆਰਾਧਉ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪਨੇ ॥ aaraadhau tujheh suaamee apane | I worship and adore You, my Lord and Master. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aootthat baitthat sovat jaagat saas saas saas har japane |1| rahaau | Standing up and sitting down, while sleeping and awake, with each and every breath, I meditate on the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ taa kai hiradai basio naam | The Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides within the hearts of those, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ jaa kau suaamee keeno daan |1| whose Lord and Master blesses them with this gift. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਆਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥ taa kai hiradai aaee saant | Peace and tranquility come into the hearts of those - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਂਤਿ ॥੨॥ tthaakur bhette gur bachanaant |2| who meet their Lord and Master, through the Word of the Guru. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਬੀਨ ॥ sarab kalaa soee parabeen | Those whom the Guru blesses with the Mantra of the Naam - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨ ॥੩॥ naam mantru jaa kau gur deen |3| are wise, and blessed with all powers. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥ kahu naanak taa kai bal jaau | Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਾਉ ॥੪॥੨॥ kalijug meh paaeaa jin naau |4|2| who are blessed with the Name in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||4||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅਨਿਕ ਬਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਊਹਾਂ ਚਰਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਬਸਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ anik baar kar bandan santan aoohaan charan gobind jee ke basanaa |1| rahaau | Humbly bow to the Saints, over and over again; through them, the Feet of the Lord of the Universe shall come to abide within you. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥ anik bhaant kar duaar na paavau | The Door to the Lord cannot be found by any other means. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ hoe kripaal ta har har dhiaavau |1| When He becomes Merciful, we come to meditate on the Lord, Har, Har. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹ ਨ ਸੋਧਾ ॥ kott karam kar deh na sodhaa | The body is not purified by millions of rituals. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਮਨੁ ਪਰਬੋਧਾ ॥੨॥ saadhasangat meh man parabodhaa |2| The mind is awakened and enlightened only in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਨ ਬੂਝੀ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ trisan na boojhee bahu rang maaeaa | Thirst and desire are not quenched by enjoying the many pleasures of Maya. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ naam lait sarab sukh paaeaa |3| Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, total peace is found. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ paarabraham jab bhe deaal | When the Supreme Lord God becomes Merciful, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਉ ਛੂਟੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੪॥੩॥ kahu naanak tau chhootte janjaal |4|3| says Nanak, then one is rid of worldly entanglements. ||4||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਟਹਲ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਜਪਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ttehal santan kee sang saadhoo kaa har naamaan jap param gate |1| rahaau | to work for the Saints, and the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Chanting the Name of the Lord, the supreme status is obtained. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਜਾ ਚਰਨਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਰਨਾ ॥ poojaa charanaa tthaakur saranaa | Worship the Feet of Your Lord and Master, and seek His Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋਈ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ soee kusal ju prabh jeeo karanaa |1| Take joy in whatever God does. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਫਲ ਹੋਤ ਇਹ ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹੀ ॥ safal hot ih duralabh dehee | This precious human body becomes fruitful, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
