ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਤ ॥ har ke sant sadaa thir poojahu jo har naam japaat | The Lord’s Saints are steady and stable forever; they worship and adore Him, and chant the Lord’s Name. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਤੇ ਸਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਤ ॥੩॥ jin kau kripaa karat hai gobid te satasang milaat |3| Those who are mercifully blessed by the Lord of the Universe, join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਨ ਚਲਤ ਸੰਗਾਤ ॥ maat pitaa banitaa sut sanpat ant na chalat sangaat | Mother, father, spouse, children and wealth will not go along with you in the end. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮ ਭਜੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥੪॥੧॥ kehat kabeer raam bhaj baure janam akaarath jaat |4|1| Says Kabeer, meditate and vibrate on the Lord, O madman. Your life is uselessly wasting away. ||4||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜਾਸ੍ਰਮ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ raajaasram mit nahee jaanee teree | I do not know the limits of Your Royal Ashram. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ tere santan kee hau cheree |1| rahaau | I am the humble slave of Your Saints. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਸਤੋ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਰੋਵਤੁ ਆਵੈ ਰੋਵਤੁ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਹਸੈ ॥ hasato jaae su rovat aavai rovat jaae su hasai | The one who goes laughing returns crying, and the one who goes crying returns laughing. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਸਤੋ ਹੋਇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋੁ ਊਜਰੁ ਊਜਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਬਸੈ ॥੧॥ basato hoe hoe suo aoojar aoojar hoe su basai |1| What is inhabited becomes deserted, and what is deserted becomes inhabited. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਥਲ ਕਰਿ ਥਲ ਤੇ ਕੂਆ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥ jal te thal kar thal te kooaa koop te mer karaavai | The water turns into a desert, the desert turns into a well, and the well turns into a mountain. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਆਕਾਸਿ ਚਢਾਵੈ ਚਢੇ ਅਕਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ dharatee te aakaas chadtaavai chadte akaas giraavai |2| From the earth, the mortal is exalted to the Akaashic ethers; and from the ethers on high, he is thrown down again. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਜੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ॥ bhekhaaree te raaj karaavai raajaa te bhekhaaree | The beggar is transformed into a king, and the king into a beggar. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਖਲ ਮੂਰਖ ਤੇ ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਕਰਿਬੋ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਤੇ ਮੁਗਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ khal moorakh te panddit karibo panddit te mugadhaaree |3| The idiotic fool is transformed into a Pandit, a religious scholar, and the Pandit into a fool. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ naaree te jo purakh karaavai purakhan te jo naaree | The woman is transformed into a man, and the men into women. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥ kahu kabeer saadhoo ko preetam tis moorat balihaaree |4|2| Says Kabeer, God is the Beloved of the Holy Saints. I am a sacrifice to His image. ||4||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਕਾਏਂ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ kaaen re man bikhiaa ban jaae | O mortal, why are you going into the forest of corruption? - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਭੂਲੌ ਰੇ ਠਗਮੂਰੀ ਖਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhoolau re tthagamooree khaae |1| rahaau | You have been misled into eating the toxic drug. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਨੁ ਪਾਨੀ ਮਹਿ ਰਹੈ ॥ jaise meen paanee meh rahai | You are like a fish living in the water; - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕਾਲ ਜਾਲ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਲਹੈ ॥ kaal jaal kee sudh nahee lahai | you do not see the net of death. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਿਹਬਾ ਸੁਆਦੀ ਲੀਲਿਤ ਲੋਹ ॥ jihabaa suaadee leelit loh | Trying to taste the flavor, you swallow the hook. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਐਸੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਮੋਹ ॥੧॥ aise kanik kaamanee baadhio moh |1| You are bound by attachment to wealth and woman. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਮਧੁ ਮਾਖੀ ਸੰਚੈ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ jiau madh maakhee sanchai apaar | The bee stores up loads of honey; - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮਧੁ ਲੀਨੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਛਾਰੁ ॥ madh leeno mukh deenee chhaar | then someone comes and takes the honey, and throws dust in its mouth. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਗਊ ਬਾਛ ਕਉ ਸੰਚੈ ਖੀਰੁ ॥ gaoo baachh kau sanchai kheer | The cow stores up loads of milk; - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਗਲਾ ਬਾਂਧਿ ਦੁਹਿ ਲੇਇ ਅਹੀਰੁ ॥੨॥ galaa baandh duhi lee aheer |2| then the milkman comes and ties it by its neck and milks it. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਅਤਿ ਕਰੈ ॥ maaeaa kaaran sram at karai | For the sake of Maya, the mortal works very hard. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸੋ ਮਾਇਆ ਲੈ ਗਾਡੈ ਧਰੈ ॥ so maaeaa lai gaaddai dharai | He takes the wealth of Maya, and buries it in the ground. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਅਤਿ ਸੰਚੈ ਸਮਝੈ ਨਹੀ ਮੂੜੑ ॥ at sanchai samajhai nahee moorra | He acquires so much, but the fool does not appreciate it. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਧਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਤਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਗਇਓ ਧੂੜਿ ॥੩॥ dhan dharatee tan hoe geo dhoorr |3| His wealth remains buried in the ground, while his body turns to dust. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਜਰੈ ॥ kaam krodh trisanaa at jarai | He burns in tremendous sexual desire, unresolved anger and desire. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਕਰੈ ॥ saadhasangat kabahoo nahee karai | He never joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਤਾ ਚੀ ਆਣਿ ॥ kehat naamadeo taa chee aan | Says Naam Dayv, seek God’s Shelter; - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਨਿਰਭੈ ਹੋਇ ਭਜੀਐ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੪॥੧॥ nirabhai hoe bhajeeai bhagavaan |4|1| be fearless, and vibrate on the Lord God. ||4||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਦਹੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਹੋਡ ਮਾਧਉ ਮੋ ਸਿਉ ॥ badahu kee na hodd maadhau mo siau | Why not make a bet with me, O Lord of Wealth? - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੇ ਜਨੁ ਜਨ ਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਤੋ ਸਿਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ tthaakur te jan jan te tthaakur khel pario hai to siau |1| rahaau | From the master comes the servant, and from the servant, comes the master. This is the game I play with You. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਆਪਨ ਦੇਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਆਪਨ ਆਪ ਲਗਾਵੈ ਪੂਜਾ ॥ aapan deo dehuraa aapan aap lagaavai poojaa | You Yourself are the deity, and You are the temple of worship. You are the devoted worshipper. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਤਰੰਗ ਤਰੰਗ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਜਲੁ ਕਹਨ ਸੁਨਨ ਕਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥ jal te tarang tarang te hai jal kehan sunan kau doojaa |1| From the water, the waves rise up, and from the waves, the water. They are only different by figures of speech. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਆਪਹਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਆਪਹਿ ਨਾਚੈ ਆਪਿ ਬਜਾਵੈ ਤੂਰਾ ॥ aapeh gaavai aapeh naachai aap bajaavai tooraa | You Yourself sing, and You Yourself dance. You Yourself blow the bugle. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਜਨੁ ਊਰਾ ਤੂ ਪੂਰਾ ॥੨॥੨॥ kehat naamadeo toon mero tthaakur jan aooraa too pooraa |2|2| Says Naam Dayv, You are my Lord and Master. Your humble servant is imperfect; You are perfect. ||2||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਦਾਸ ਅਨਿੰਨ ਮੇਰੋ ਨਿਜ ਰੂਪ ॥ daas anin mero nij roop | Says God: my slave is devoted only to me; he is in my very image. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਦਰਸਨ ਨਿਮਖ ਤਾਪ ਤ੍ਰਈ ਮੋਚਨ ਪਰਸਤ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੂਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ darasan nimakh taap tree mochan parasat mukat karat grih koop |1| rahaau | The sight of him, even for an instant, cures the three fevers; his touch brings liberation from the deep dark pit of household affairs. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮੇਰੀ ਬਾਂਧੀ ਭਗਤੁ ਛਡਾਵੈ ਬਾਂਧੈ ਭਗਤੁ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ਮੋਹਿ ॥ meree baandhee bhagat chhaddaavai baandhai bhagat na chhoottai mohi | The devotee can release anyone from my bondage, but I cannot release anyone from his. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
