ਅੰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਵੈਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੁ ਕੋ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥ ant hovai vair virodh ko sakai na chhaddaaeaa | In the end, hatred and conflict well up, and no one can save him. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਗਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩੨॥ naanak vin naavai dhrig mohu jit lag dukh paaeaa |32| O Nanak, without the Name, those loving attachments are cursed; engrossed in them, he suffers in pain. ||32|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਧੈ ਸਭ ਭੁਖ ਜਾਇ ॥ guramukh amrit naam hai jit khaadhai sabh bhukh jaae | The Guru’s Word is the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam. Eating it, all hunger departs. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ trisanaa mool na hovee naam vasai man aae | There is no thirst or desire at all, when the Naam comes to dwell in the mind. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਿ ਹੋਰੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਲਗੈ ਤਨਿ ਧਾਇ ॥ bin naavai ji hor khaanaa tith rog lagai tan dhaae | Eating anything other than the Name, disease runs to afflict the body. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਸ ਕਸ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਲਾਹਣਾ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ naanak ras kas sabad salaahanaa aape le milaae |1| O Nanak, whoever takes the Praise of the Shabad as his spices and flavors - the Lord unites him in His Union. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਹ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ jeea andar jeeo sabad hai jit seh melaavaa hoe | The life within all living beings is the Word of the Shabad. Through it, we meet our Husband Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਗਿ ਆਨੑੇਰੁ ਹੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ bin sabadai jag aanaer hai sabade paragatt hoe | Without the Shabad, the world is in darkness. Through the Shabad, it is enlightened. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਕੇ ਭੇਖ ਥਕੇ ਤਨੁ ਧੋਇ ॥ panddit monee parr parr thake bhekh thake tan dhoe | The Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages read and write until they are weary. The religious fanatics are tired of washing their bodies. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਦੁਖੀਏ ਚਲੇ ਰੋਇ ॥ bin sabadai kinai na paaeo dukhee chale roe | Without the Shabad, no one attains the Lord; the miserable depart weeping and wailing. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ naanak nadaree paaeeai karam paraapat hoe |2| O Nanak, by His Glance of Grace, the Merciful Lord is attained. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਅਤਿ ਨੇਹੁ ਬਹਿ ਮੰਦੁ ਪਕਾਇਆ ॥ eisatree purakhai at nehu beh mand pakaaeaa | The husband and wife are very much in love; sitting together, they make evil plans. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਦਿਸਦਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਚਲਸੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ disadaa sabh kichh chalasee mere prabh bhaaeaa | All that is seen shall pass away. This is the Will of my God. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਥਿਰੁ ਜਗਿ ਕੋ ਕਢਹੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ kiau raheeai thir jag ko kadtahu upaaeaa | How can anyone remain in this world forever? Some may try to devise a plan. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਥਿਰੁ ਕੰਧੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥ gur poore kee chaakaree thir kandh sabaaeaa | Working for the Perfect Guru, the wall becomes permanent and stable. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੩੩॥ naanak bakhas milaaeian har naam samaaeaa |33| O Nanak, the Lord forgives them, and merges them into Himself; they are absorbed in the Lord’s Name. ||33|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਉ ਹੇਤੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥ maaeaa mohi visaariaa gur kaa bhau het apaar | Attached to Maya, the mortal forgets the Fear of God and Guru, and love for the Infinite Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਲੋਭਿ ਲਹਰਿ ਸੁਧਿ ਮਤਿ ਗਈ ਸਚਿ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ lobh lehar sudh mat gee sach na lagai piaar | The waves of greed take away his wisdom and understanding, and he does not embrace love for the True Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ guramukh jinaa sabad man vasai daragah mokh duaar | The Word of the Shabad abides in the mind of the Gurmukhs, who find the Gate of Salvation. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ naanak aape mel le aape bakhasanahaar |1| O Nanak, the Lord Himself forgives them, and unites them in Union with Himself. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਵਿਸਰੇ ਸਰੈ ਨ ਬਿੰਦ ॥ naanak jis bin gharree na jeevanaa visare sarai na bind | O Nanak, without Him, we could not live for a moment. Forgetting Him, we could not succeed for an instant. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਉ ਮਨ ਰੂਸੀਐ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੨॥ tis siau kiau man rooseeai jiseh hamaaree chind |2| O mortal, how can you be angry with the One who cares for you? ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਾਵਣੁ ਆਇਆ ਝਿਮਝਿਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ saavan aaeaa jhimajhimaa har guramukh naam dhiaae | The rainy season of Saawan has come. The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord’s Name. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਕਾੜਾ ਸਭੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਸੀ ਮੀਹੁ ਵੁਠਾ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਇ ॥ dukh bhukh kaarraa sabh chukaaeisee meehu vutthaa chhahabar laae | All pain, hunger and misfortune end, when the rain falls in torrents. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਭ ਧਰਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੀ ਅੰਨੁ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਬੋਹਲ ਲਾਇ ॥ sabh dharat bhee hareeaavalee an jamiaa bohal laae | The entire earth is rejuvenated, and the grain grows in abundance. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਬੁਲਾਵੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਥਾਇ ॥ har achint bulaavai kripaa kar har aape paavai thaae | The Carefree Lord, by His Grace, summons that mortal whom the Lord Himself approves. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਹੁ ਜੁ ਅੰਤੇ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥ har tiseh dhiaavahu sant janahu ju ante le chhaddaae | So meditate on the Lord, O Saints; He shall save you in the end. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ har keerat bhagat anand hai sadaa sukh vasai man aae | The Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises and devotion to Him is bliss; peace shall come to dwell in the mind. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਿਨੑਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ jinaa guramukh naam araadhiaa tinaa dukh bhukh leh jaae | Those Gurmukhs who worship the Naam, the Name of the Lord - their pain and hunger departs. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੈ ਗਾਇ ਗੁਣ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੩॥ jan naanak tripatai gaae gun har darasan dehu subhaae |3| Servant Nanak is satisfied, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. Please embellish him with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ paurree | Pauree: - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵੈ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਈਆ ॥ gur poore kee daat nit devai charrai savaaeea | The Perfect Guru bestows His gifts, which increase day by day. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਤੁਸਿ ਦੇਵੈ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਛਪੈ ਛਪਾਈਆ ॥ tus devai aap deaal na chhapai chhapaaeea | The Merciful Lord Himself bestows them; they cannot be concealed by concealment. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਵਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਆ ॥ hiradai kaval pragaas unaman liv laaeea | The heart-lotus blossoms forth, and the mortal is lovingly absorbed in the state of supreme bliss. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜੇ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੀਸ ਸਿਰਿ ਛਾਈ ਪਾਈਆ ॥ je ko kare us dee rees sir chhaaee paaeea | If anyone tries to challenge him, the Lord throws dust on his head. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਅਪੜਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸਕਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ॥੩੪॥ naanak aparr koe na sakee poore satigur kee vaddiaaeea |34| O Nanak, no one can equal the glory of the Perfect True Guru. ||34|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
