ਪੂਜ ਕਰੇ ਰਖੈ ਨਾਵਾਲਿ ॥ pooj kare rakhai naavaal | You wash your stone gods and worship them. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕੁੰਗੂ ਚੰਨਣੁ ਫੁਲ ਚੜਾਏ ॥ kungoo chanan ful charraae | You offer saffron, sandalwood and flowers. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈ ਪੈ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਨਾਏ ॥ pairee pai pai bahut manaae | Falling at their feet, you try so hard to appease them. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮਾਣੂਆ ਮੰਗਿ ਮੰਗਿ ਪੈਨੑੈ ਖਾਇ ॥ maanooaa mang mang painai khaae | Begging, begging from other people, you get things to wear and eat. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਅੰਧੀ ਕੰਮੀ ਅੰਧ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ andhee kamee andh sajaae | For your blind deeds, you will be blindly punished. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਭੁਖਿਆ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਮਰਦਿਆ ਰਖੈ ॥ bhukhiaa dee na maradiaa rakhai | Your idol does not feed the hungry, or save the dying. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਅੰਧਾ ਝਗੜਾ ਅੰਧੀ ਸਥੈ ॥੧॥ andhaa jhagarraa andhee sathai |1| The blind assembly argues in blindness. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਸਭੇ ਸੁਰਤੀ ਜੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ॥ sabhe suratee jog sabh sabhe bed puraan | All intuitive understanding, all Yoga, all the Vedas and Puraanas. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭੇ ਕਰਣੇ ਤਪ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ sabhe karane tap sabh sabhe geet giaan | All actions, all penances, all songs and spiritual wisdom. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭੇ ਬੁਧੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਭਿ ਥਾਨ ॥ sabhe budhee sudh sabh sabh teerath sabh thaan | All intellect, all enlightenment, all sacred shrines of pilgrimage. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭਿ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਅਮਰ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਸਭਿ ਖਾਨ ॥ sabh paatisaaheea amar sabh sabh khuseea sabh khaan | All kingdoms, all royal commands, all joys and all delicacies. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਵ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ sabhe maanas dev sabh sabhe jog dhiaan | All mankind, all divinites, all Yoga and meditation. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭੇ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡ ਸਭਿ ਸਭੇ ਜੀਅ ਜਹਾਨ ॥ sabhe pureea khandd sabh sabhe jeea jahaan | All worlds, all celestial realms; all the beings of the universe. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਚਲਾਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਕਰਮੀ ਵਹੈ ਕਲਾਮ ॥ hukam chalaae aapanai karamee vahai kalaam | According to His Hukam, He commands them. His Pen writes out the account of their actions. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਸਚੁ ਸਭਾ ਦੀਬਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ naanak sachaa sach naae sach sabhaa deebaan |2| O Nanak, True is the Lord, and True is His Name. True is His Congregation and His Court. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਈ ॥ naae maniai pat paaeeai hiradai har soee | With faith in the Name, honor is obtained. The Lord is enshrined in the heart. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਲੰਘੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ naae maniai bhavajal langheeai fir bighan na hoee | With faith in the Name, one crosses over the terrifying world-ocean, and no obstructions are ever again encountered. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਪੰਥੁ ਪਰਗਟਾ ਨਾਮੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਈ ॥ naae maniai panth paragattaa naame sabh loee | With faith in the Name, the Path is revealed; through the Name, one is totally enlightened. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ ਜਿਨ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੯॥ naanak satigur miliai naau maneeai jin devai soee |9| O Nanak, meeting with the True Guru, one comes to have faith in the Name; he alone has faith, who is blessed with it. ||9|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਇਕ ਪੈਰਿ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ pureea khanddaa sir kare ik pair dhiaae | The mortal walks on his head through the worlds and realms; he meditates, balanced on one foot. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਪਉਣੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਿਰੁ ਮੁੰਡੀ ਤਲੈ ਦੇਇ ॥ paun maar man jap kare sir munddee talai dee | Controlling the wind of the breath, he meditates within his mind, tucking his chin down into his chest. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਿਸੁ ਉਪਰਿ ਓਹੁ ਟਿਕ ਟਿਕੈ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਜੋਰੁ ਕਰੇਇ ॥ kis upar ohu ttik ttikai kis no jor karee | What does he lean on? Where does he get his power? - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਹੀਐ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਦੇਇ ॥ kis no kaheeai naanakaa kis no karataa dee | What can be said, O Nanak? Who is blessed by the Creator? - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਹਾਏ ਆਪਣੈ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਣੇਇ ॥੧॥ hukam rahaae aapanai moorakh aap ganee |1| God keeps all under His Command, but the fool shows off himself. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਆਖੂੰ ਆਖਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਹਣਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਤੋਟਿ ॥ aakhoon aakhaan sadaa sadaa kehan na aavai tott | With my mouth I say it, forever and ever; there is no end to this speech. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾ ਹਉ ਥਕਾਂ ਨ ਠਾਕੀਆ ਏਵਡ ਰਖਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ॥ naa hau thakaan na tthaakeea evadd rakheh jot | I do not get tired, and I will not be stopped; this is how great my determination is. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਚਸਿਅਹੁ ਚੁਖ ਬਿੰਦ ਉਪਰਿ ਆਖਣੁ ਦੋਸੁ ॥੨॥ naanak chasiahu chukh bind upar aakhan dos |2| O Nanak, this is tiny and insignificant. To say that it is more, is wrong. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਉਧਰੈ ਜਿਨ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥ naae maniai sangat udharai jin ridai vasaaeaa | With faith in the Name, one’s associates are saved; enshrine it within your heart. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਣਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇਆ ॥ naae maniai sun udhare jin rasan rasaaeaa | With faith in the Name, those who hear it are saved; let your tongue delight in it. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਭੁਖ ਗਈ ਜਿਨ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ naae maniai dukh bhukh gee jin naam chit laaeaa | With faith in the Name, pain and hunger are dispelled; let your consciousness be attached to the Name. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧੦॥ naanak naam tinee saalaahiaa jin guroo milaaeaa |10| O Nanak, they alone Praise the Name, who meet with the Guru. ||10|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਭੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਉਣ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਅਗਨੀ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥ sabhe paanee paun sabh sabh aganee paataal | All waters, all winds, all fires and underworlds. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਭੇ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਖੰਡ ਸਭਿ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਅ ਲੋਅ ਆਕਾਰ ॥ sabhe pureea khandd sabh sabh loa loa aakaar | All solar systems and galaxies, all worlds, people and forms. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਕੇਤੜਾ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਜੈ ਕਾਰ ॥ hukam na jaapee ketarraa keh na sakeejai kaar | No one knows how great the Hukam of His Command is; no one can describe His actions. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਖਹਿ ਥਕਹਿ ਆਖਿ ਆਖਿ ਕਰਿ ਸਿਫਤਂੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ aakheh thakeh aakh aakh kar sifatanee veechaar | Mortals may utter, chant, recite and contemplate His Praises until they grow weary. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਪੁੜੀ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹੈ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥ trin na paaeo bapurree naanak kahai gavaar |1| The poor fools, O Nanak, cannot find even a tiny bit of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
