ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੀਤਿਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ janam padaarath guramukh jeetiaa bahur na jooai haar |1| The Gurmukh is successful in this priceless human life; he shall not lose it in the gamble ever again. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ aatth pehar prabh ke gun gaavah pooran sabad beechaar | Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and contemplate the Perfect Word of the Shabad. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿ ॥੨॥੮੯॥੧੧੨॥ naanak daasan daas jan teraa punah punah namasakaar |2|89|112| Servant Nanak is the slave of Your slaves; over and over again, he bows in humble reverence to You. ||2||89||112|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saadhasang gaaveh gun gobind pooran braham giaan |1| rahaau | Whoever sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, has the perfect knowledge of God. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਿਕ ਸਿਧ ਸਗਲ ਮੁਨਿ ਲੋਚਹਿ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ saadhik sidh sagal mun locheh birale laagai dhiaan | The Siddhas and seekers and all the silent sages long for the Lord, but those who meditate on Him are rare. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ jiseh kripaal hoe meraa suaamee pooran taa ko kaam |1| That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is merciful - all his tasks are perfectly accomplished. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥ jaa kai ridai vasai bhai bhanjan tis jaanai sagal jahaan | One whose heart is filled with the Lord, the Destroyer of fear, knows the whole world. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੯੦॥੧੧੩॥ khin pal bisar nahee mere karate ihu naanak maangai daan |2|90|113| May I never forget You, even for an instant, O my Creator Lord; Nanak begs for this blessing. ||2||90||113|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਨੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ anad mangal gaau har jas pooran pragattio nehu |1| rahaau | Singing the Lord’s Praises with ecstasy and bliss, the Perfect Lord is revealed. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਜਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਊਨ ਥਾਉ ਨ ਕੇਹੁ ॥ chaar kuntt deh dis jal nidh aoon thaau na kehu | On all four sides and in the ten directions, the Lord is an ocean. There is no place where He does not exist. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੂਰਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭ ਦੇਹੁ ॥੧॥ kripaa nidh gobind pooran jeea daan sabh dehu |1| O Perfect Lord God, Ocean of Mercy, You bless all with the gift of the soul. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਤਿ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਉਪਜੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਹ ਭਰਮੇਹੁ ॥੨॥੯੧॥੧੧੪॥ sat te jan jin parateet upajee naanak neh bharamehu |2|91|114| True are those humble beings, within whom faith wells up; O Nanak, they are not deluded by doubt. ||2||91||114|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥ tumaree kripaa te sabh fal paae rasak raam naam dhiaae |1| By Your Grace, I have obtained all fruits and rewards; I meditate on the Lord’s Name with delight. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬਿਚਲ ਨੀਵ ਧਰਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਡੋਲਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ abichal neev dharaaee satigur kabahoo ddolat naahee | The True Guru has laid the eternal foundation; it shall never be shaken. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਰਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਂਹੀ ॥੨॥੯੨॥੧੧੫॥ gur naanak jab bhe deaaraa sarab sukhaa nidh paanhee |2|92|115| Guru Nanak has become merciful to me, and I have been blessed with the treasure of absolute peace. ||2||92||115|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਲਾਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਨਿਧਿ ਧਨੁ ਬਿਖੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਅਲੇਪ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ laabh har gun gaae nidh dhan bikhai maeh alep |1| rahaau | Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the treasure of wealth, and earn your profit; in the midst of corruption, remain untouched. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਆਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ jeea jant sagal santokhe aapanaa prabh dhiaae | All beings and creatures find contentment, meditating on their God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਤਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਤਿਓ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ratan janam apaar jeetio bahurr jon na paae |1| The priceless jewel of infinite worth, this human life, is won, and they are not consigned to reincarnation ever again. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਰਾਸਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਈ ਲਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥੯੩॥੧੧੬॥ har charan raas naanak paaee lagaa prabh siau rang |2|93|116| Nanak has found the wealth of the Lotus Feet of the Lord; he is imbued with the Love of God. ||2||93||116|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਅਚਰਜ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ anahad dhunee meraa man mohio acharaj taa ke svaad |1| rahaau | My mind is enticed by the unstruck celestial melody; its flavor is amazing! ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਅਹਿਲਾਦ ॥ maat pitaa bandhap hai soee man har ko ahilaad | He is my Mother, Father and Relative. My mind delights in the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਪਰਮਾਦ ॥੧॥ saadhasang gaae gun gobind binasio sabh paramaad |1| Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all my illusions are dispelled. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਡੋਰੀ ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹੀ ਚਰਨਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਖਾਦ ॥ ddoree lapatt rahee charanah sang bhram bhai sagale khaad | I am lovingly attached to His Lotus Feet; my doubt and fear are totally consumed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨ ਕੀਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਦ ॥੨॥੯੪॥੧੧੭॥ ek adhaar naanak jan keea bahur na jon bhramaad |2|94|117| Servant Nanak has taken the Support of the One Lord. He shall not wander in reincarnation ever again. ||2||94||117|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
