ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਵਰ ਕਾਮਨਿ ਧਨ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥ ein bidh har mileeai var kaaman dhan sohaag piaaree | This is the way to meet your Husband Lord. Blessed is the soul-bride who is loved by her Husband Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਾਤਿ ਬਰਨ ਕੁਲ ਸਹਸਾ ਚੂਕਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ jaat baran kul sahasaa chookaa guramat sabad beechaaree |1| Social class and status, race, ancestry and skepticism are eliminated, following the Guru’s Teachings and contemplating the Word of the Shabad. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਲੋਭੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੇ ॥ jis man maanai abhimaan na taa kau hinsaa lobh visaare | One whose mind is pleased and appeased, has no egotistical pride. Violence and greed are forgotten. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਹਜਿ ਰਵੈ ਵਰੁ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਪਿਰ ਕੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ sehaj ravai var kaaman pir kee guramukh rang savaare |2| The soul-bride intuitively ravishes and enjoys her Husband Lord; as Gurmukh, she is embellished by His Love. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਾਰਉ ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਸਨਬੰਧੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥ jaarau aisee preet kuttanb sanabandhee maaeaa moh pasaaree | Burn away any love of family and relatives, which increases your attachment to Maya. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਕਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ jis antar preet raam ras naahee dubidhaa karam bikaaree |3| One who does not savor the Lord’s Love deep within, lives in duality and corruption. ||3|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਿਤ ਕੌ ਦੁਰੈ ਨ ਲਾਲ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥ antar ratan padaarath hit kau durai na laal piaaree | His Love is a priceless jewel deep within my being; the Lover of my Beloved is not hidden. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲਕੁ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੩॥ naanak guramukh naam amolak jug jug antar dhaaree |4|3| O Nanak, as Gurmukh, enshrine the Priceless Naam deep within your being, all the ages through. ||4||3|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ mil satasangat param pad paaeaa aatam raam rahiaa bharapoor |1| rahaau | Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I have obtained the supreme status. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ satigur sant milai saant paaeeai kilavikh dukh kaatte sabh door | Meeting the Saintly True Guru, I have found peace and tranquility. Sins and painful mistakes are totally erased and taken away. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਆਤਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਭਈ ਪਰਫੂਲਿਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ aatam jot bhee parafoolit purakh niranjan dekhiaa hajoor |1| The Divine Light of the soul radiates forth, gazing upon the Presence of the Immaculate Lord God. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥ vaddai bhaag satasangat paaee har har naam rahiaa bharapoor | By great good fortune, I have found the Sat Sangat; the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is all-prevading everywhere. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਮਜਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਗ ਨਾਏ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੨॥ atthasatth teerath majan keea satasangat pag naae dhoor |2| I have taken my cleansing bath at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, bathing in the dust of the feet of the True Congregation. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਲੀਨ ਮਤਿ ਹੋਛੀ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਕੁਸੁਧੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਮੋਹ ਕੂਰੁ ॥ duramat bikaar maleen mat hochhee hiradaa kusudh laagaa moh koor | Evil-minded and corrupt, filthy-minded and shallow, with impure heart, attached to enticement and falsehood. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਕਿਉ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੩॥ bin karamaa kiau sangat paaeeai haumai biaap rahiaa man jhoor |3| Without good karma, how can I find the Sangat? Engrossed in egotism, the mortal remains stuck in regret. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਮਾਗਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਗ ਧੂਰਿ ॥ hohu deaal kripaa kar har jee maagau satasangat pag dhoor | Be kind and show Your Mercy, O Dear Lord; I beg for the dust of the feet of the Sat Sangat. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰਾਮੁ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੧॥ naanak sant milai har paaeeai jan har bhettiaa raam hajoor |4|1| O Nanak, meeting with the Saints, the Lord is attained. The Lord’s humble servant obtains the Presence of the Lord. ||4||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਤਰਣਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhavajal jagat na jaaee taranaa jap har har paar utaaree |1| rahaau | I cannot swim across the terrifying world ocean. But chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I am carried across across. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ hiradai prateet banee prabh keree sevaa surat beechaaree | Faith in God came to fill my heart; I serve Him intuitively, and contemplate Him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ anadin raam naam jap hiradai sarab kalaa gunakaaree |1| Night and day, I chant the Lord’s Name within my heart; it is all-powerful and virtuous. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ prabh agam agochar raviaa srab tthaaee man tan alakh apaaree | God is Inaccessible and Unfathomable, All-pervading everywhere, in all minds and bodies; He is Infinite and Invisible. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਭਏ ਤਬ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ gur kirapaal bhe tab paaeaa hiradai alakh lakhaaree |2| When the Guru bebomes merciful, then the Unseen Lord is seen within the heart. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਰਬ ਧਰਣੀਧਰ ਸਾਕਤ ਕਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਭਇਆ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥ antar har naam sarab dharaneedhar saakat kau door bheaa ahankaaree | Deep within the inner being is the Name of the Lord, the Support of the entire earth, but to the egotistical shaakta, the faithless cynic, He seems far away. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਤ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਜੂਐ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ trisanaa jalat na kabahoo boojheh jooai baajee haaree |3| His burning desire is never quenched, and he loses the game of life in the gamble. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ aootthat baitthat har gun gaaveh gur kinchat kirapaa dhaaree | Standing up and sitting down, the mortal sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, when the Guru bestows even a tiny bit of His Grace. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਭਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥ naanak jin kau nadar bhee hai tin kee paij savaaree |4|2| O Nanak, those who are blessed by His Glance of Grace - He saves and protects their honor. ||4||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
