ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇ ਤ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੩॥੧॥ naaraaein suprasan hoe ta sevak naamaa |3|1| If the Lord were totally pleased, then He would let Naam Dayv be His servant. ||3||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਲੋਭ ਲਹਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਝਰ ਬਾਜੈ ॥ ਕਾਇਆ ਡੂਬੈ ਕੇਸਵਾ ॥੧॥ lobh lehar at neejhar baajai | kaaeaa ddoobai kesavaa |1| The tidal waves of greed constantly assault me. My body is drowning, O Lord. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਮੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਰਿ ਗੋੁਬਿੰਦੇ ॥ ਤਾਰਿ ਲੈ ਬਾਪ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sansaar samunde taar guobinde | taar lai baap beetthulaa |1| rahaau | Please carry me across the world-ocean, O Lord of the Universe. Carry me across, O Beloved Father. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਅਨਿਲ ਬੇੜਾ ਹਉ ਖੇਵਿ ਨ ਸਾਕਉ ॥ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੨॥ anil berraa hau khev na saakau | teraa paar na paaeaa beetthulaa |2| I cannot steer my ship in this storm. I cannot find the other shore, O Beloved Lord. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਤੂ ਮੋ ਕਉ ॥ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ਕੇਸਵਾ ॥੩॥ hohu deaal satigur mel too mo kau | paar utaare kesavaa |3| Please be merciful, and unite me with the True Guru; Carry me across, O Lord. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਨਾਮਾ ਕਹੈ ਹਉ ਤਰਿ ਭੀ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ॥ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਬਾਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਬਾਹ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ naamaa kahai hau tar bhee na jaanau | mo kau baah dehi baah dehi beetthulaa |4|2| Says Naam Dayv, I do not know how to swim. Give me Your Arm, give me Your Arm, O Beloved Lord. ||4||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਸਹਜ ਅਵਲਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਮਣੀ ਗਾਡੀ ਚਾਲਤੀ ॥ sehaj aval dhoorr manee gaaddee chaalatee | Slowly at first, the body-cart loaded with dust starts to move. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਪੀਛੈ ਤਿਨਕਾ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥੧॥ peechhai tinakaa lai kar haankatee |1| Later, it is driven on by the stick. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਜੈਸੇ ਪਨਕਤ ਥ੍ਰੂਟਿਟਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥ jaise panakat thraoottitt haankatee | The body moves along like the ball of dung, driven on by the dung-beetle. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਸਰਿ ਧੋਵਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਲਾਡੁਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sar dhovan chaalee laaddulee |1| rahaau | The beloved soul goes down to the pool to wash itself clean. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਧੋਬੀ ਧੋਵੈ ਬਿਰਹ ਬਿਰਾਤਾ ॥ dhobee dhovai birah biraataa | The washerman washes, imbued with the Lord’s Love. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥ har charan meraa man raataa |2| My mind is imbued with the Lord’s Lotus Feet. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਰਮਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ bhanat naamadeo ram rahiaa | Prays Naam Dayv, O Lord, You are All-pervading. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਪਰ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ॥੩॥੩॥ apane bhagat par kar deaa |3|3| Please be kind to Your devotee. ||3||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸੁਝੰਤਾ ਕਛੂ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ tujheh sujhantaa kachhoo naeh | You know nothing. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਦੇਖੇ ਊਭਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ pahiraavaa dekhe aoobh jaeh | Seeing your clothes, you are so proud of yourself. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਗਰਬਵਤੀ ਕਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥ garabavatee kaa naahee tthaau | The proud bride shall not find a place with the Lord. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤੇਰੀ ਗਰਦਨਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਲਵੈ ਕਾਉ ॥੧॥ teree garadan aoopar lavai kaau |1| Above your head, the crow of death is cawing. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤੂ ਕਾਂਇ ਗਰਬਹਿ ਬਾਵਲੀ ॥ too kaane garabeh baavalee | Why are you so proud? You are insane. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਜੈਸੇ ਭਾਦਉ ਖੂੰਬਰਾਜੁ ਤੂ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਖਰੀ ਉਤਾਵਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jaise bhaadau khoonbaraaj too tis te kharee utaavalee |1| rahaau | Even the mushrooms of summer live longer than you. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਜੈਸੇ ਕੁਰੰਕ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਓ ਭੇਦੁ ॥ jaise kurank nahee paaeo bhed | The deer does not know the secret; - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤਨਿ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਢੂਢੈ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸੁ ॥ tan sugandh dtoodtai prades | the musk is within its own body, but it searches for it outside. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਅਪ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ ap tan kaa jo kare beechaar | Whoever reflects on his own body - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤਿਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥ tis nahee jamakankar kare khuaar |2|

• the Messenger of Death does not abuse him. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਕਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥ putr kalatr kaa kareh ahankaar | The man is so proud of his sons and his wife; - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਗਨਹਾਰੁ ॥ tthaakur lekhaa maganahaar | his Lord and Master shall call for his account. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਫੇੜੇ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਜੀਉ ॥ ferre kaa dukh sahai jeeo | The soul suffers in pain for the actions it has committed. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਪਾਛੇ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਪੀਉ ਪੀਉ ॥੩॥ paachhe kiseh pukaareh peeo peeo |3| Afterwards, whom shall you call, “Dear, Dear.” ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਜਉ ਲੇਹਿ ਓਟ ॥ saadhoo kee jau lehi ott | If you seek the Support of the Holy, - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਸਭ ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ॥ tere mitteh paap sabh kott kott | millions upon millions of your sins shall be totally erased. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਜੋੁ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ keh ravidaas juo japai naam | Says Ravi Daas, one who chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਜੋਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੧॥ tis jaat na janam na jon kaam |4|1| is not concerned with social class, birth and rebirth. ||4||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਤੇਰੀ ਪੂੰਛਟ ਊਪਰਿ ਝਮਕ ਬਾਲ ॥੧॥ teree poonchhatt aoopar jhamak baal |1| The hair on your tail is shiny and lustrous. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਇਸ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਤੂ ਢੂੰਢਿ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ eis ghar meh hai su too dtoondt khaeh | Look around, and eat anything in this house. - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਅਉਰ ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਤੂ ਮਤਿ ਹੀ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aaur kis hee ke too mat hee jaeh |1| rahaau | But do not go out to any other. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਚਾਕੀ ਚਾਟਹਿ ਚੂਨੁ ਖਾਹਿ ॥ chaakee chaatteh choon khaeh | You lick the grinding bowl, and eat the flour. - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਚਾਕੀ ਕਾ ਚੀਥਰਾ ਕਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ chaakee kaa cheetharaa kahaan lai jaeh |2| Where have you taken the kitchen rags? ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਛੀਕੇ ਪਰ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਡੀਠਿ ॥ chheeke par teree bahut ddeetth | Your gaze is fixed on the basket in the cupboard. - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਮਤੁ ਲਕਰੀ ਸੋਟਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰੈ ਪੀਠਿ ॥੩॥ mat lakaree sottaa teree parai peetth |3| Watch out - a stick may strike you from behind. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਭੋਗ ਭਲੇ ਕੀਨ ॥ keh kabeer bhog bhale keen | Says Kabeer, you have over-indulged in your pleasures. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
