ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਨੑੈ ਹੋਤ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ jaa kai keenai hot bikaar | He gathers up that which brings corruption; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲਿਆ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੫॥ se chhodd chaliaa khin meh gavaar |5| leaving them, the fool must depart in an instant. ||5|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਰਮਿਆ ॥ maaeaa mohi bahu bharamiaa | He wanders in attachment to Maya. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਰਤ ਰੇਖ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਮਿਆ ॥ kirat rekh kar karamiaa | He acts in accordance with the karma of his past actions. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ karanaihaar alipat aap | Only the Creator Himself remains detached. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਹੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪਿ ॥੬॥ nahee lep prabh pun paap |6| God is not affected by virtue or vice. ||6|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ raakh lehu gobind deaal | Please save me, O Merciful Lord of the Universe! - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ teree saran pooran kripaal | I seek Your Sanctuary, O Perfect Compassionate Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥ tujh bin doojaa nahee tthaau | Without You, I have no other place of rest. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਉ ॥੭॥ kar kirapaa prabh dehu naau |7| Please take pity on me, God, and bless me with Your Name. ||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੂ ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ too karataa too karanahaar | You are the Creator, and You are the Doer. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂ ਊਚਾ ਤੂ ਬਹੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥ too aoochaa too bahu apaar | You are High and Exalted, and You are totally Infinite. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੜਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ kar kirapaa larr lehu laae | Please be merciful, and attach me to the hem of Your robe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੮॥੨॥ naanak daas prabh kee saranaae |8|2| Slave Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God. ||8||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਕੈ ਹੋਹੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਭਾਈ ॥ har kaa naam dhiaae kai hohu hariaa bhaaee | Meditate on the Lord’s Name, and blossom forth in green abundance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖੰਤੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਇਹ ਰੁਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ ॥ karam likhantai paaeeai ih rut suhaaee | By your high destiny, you have been blessed with this wondrous spring of the soul. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਵਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ van trin tribhavan mauliaa amrit fal paaee | See all the three worlds in bloom, and obtain the Fruit of Ambrosial Nectar. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਲਥੀ ਸਭ ਛਾਈ ॥ mil saadhoo sukh aoopajai lathee sabh chhaaee | Meeting with the Holy Saints, peace wells up, and all sins are erased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਧਾਈ ॥੧॥ naanak simarai ek naam fir bahurr na dhaaee |1| O Nanak, remember in meditation the One Name, and you shall never again be consigned to the womb of reincarnation.. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੰਜੇ ਬਧੇ ਮਹਾਬਲੀ ਕਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਢੋਆ ॥ panje badhe mahaabalee kar sachaa dtoaa | The five powerful desires are bound down, when you lean on the True Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਣ ਜਪਾਇਅਨੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਦਯੁ ਖੜੋਆ ॥ aapane charan japaaeian vich day kharroaa | The Lord Himself leads us to dwell at His Feet. He stands right in our midst. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਨਿਤ ਨਵਾ ਨਿਰੋਆ ॥ rog sog sabh mitt ge nit navaa niroaa | All sorrows and sicknesses are eradicated, and you become ever-fresh and rejuvenated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਾਇ ਨ ਮੋਆ ॥ din rain naam dhiaaeidaa fir paae na moaa | Night and day, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. You shall never again die. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸੋਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਆ ॥੨॥ jis te upajiaa naanakaa soee fir hoaa |2| And the One, from whom we came, O Nanak, into Him we merge once again. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਥਹੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਕਹ ਰਹੈ ਕਹ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥ kithahu upajai keh rahai keh maeh samaavai | Where do we come from? Where do we live? Where do we go in the end? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਖਸਮ ਕੇ ਕਉਣੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ jeea jant sabh khasam ke kaun keemat paavai | All creatures belong to God, our Lord and Master. Who can place a value on Him? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਸੁਣਨਿ ਨਿਤ ਸੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥ kehan dhiaaein sunan nit se bhagat suhaavai | Those who meditate, listen and chant, those devotees are blessed and beautified. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੋ ਦੂਸਰੁ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ agam agochar saahibo doosar lavai na laavai | The Lord God is Inaccessible and Unfathomable; there is no other equal to Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਚੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸਿਆ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥੩॥੧॥ sach poorai gur upadesiaa naanak sunaavai |3|1| The Perfect Guru has taught this Truth. Nanak proclaims it to the world. ||3||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਆਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ghatt ghatt mauliaa aatam pragaas |1| Each and every heart has blossomed forth, and the soul is illumined. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਅਨਤ ਭਾਇ ॥ raajaa raam mauliaa anat bhaae | My Sovereign Lord King blossoms forth in countless ways. - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਦੁਤੀਆ ਮਉਲੇ ਚਾਰਿ ਬੇਦ ॥ duteea maule chaar bed | The four Vedas blossom forth in duality. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਮਉਲੀ ਸਿਉ ਕਤੇਬ ॥੨॥ sinmrit maulee siau kateb |2| The Simritees blossom forth, along with the Koran and the Bible. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੰਕਰੁ ਮਉਲਿਓ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ sankar maulio jog dhiaan | Shiva blossoms forth in Yoga and meditation. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਸਮਾਨ ॥੩॥੧॥ kabeer ko suaamee sabh samaan |3|1| Kabeer’s Lord and Master pervades in all alike. ||3||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜਨ ਮਾਤੇ ਪੜਿੑ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥ panddit jan maate parra puraan | The Pandits, the Hindu religious scholars, are intoxicated, reading the Puraanas. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੋਗੀ ਮਾਤੇ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ ॥ jogee maate jog dhiaan | The Yogis are intoxicated in Yoga and meditation. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਮਾਤੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ॥ saniaasee maate ahamev | The Sannyaasees are intoxicated in egotism. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਪਸੀ ਮਾਤੇ ਤਪ ਕੈ ਭੇਵ ॥੧॥ tapasee maate tap kai bhev |1| The penitents are intoxicated with the mystery of penance. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭ ਮਦ ਮਾਤੇ ਕੋਊ ਨ ਜਾਗ ॥ sabh mad maate koaoo na jaag | All are intoxicated with the wine of Maya; no one is awake and aware. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੰਗ ਹੀ ਚੋਰ ਘਰੁ ਮੁਸਨ ਲਾਗ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sang hee chor ghar musan laag |1| rahaau | The thieves are with them, plundering their homes. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
