ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਏਕ ॥ jau guradeo buraa bhalaa ek | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one looks upon good and bad as the same. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਹਿ ਲੇਖ ॥੫॥ jau guradeo lilaatteh lekh |5| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one has good destiny written on his forehead. ||5|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਕੰਧੁ ਨਹੀ ਹਿਰੈ ॥ jau guradeo kandh nahee hirai | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the wall of the body is not eroded. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਫਿਰੈ ॥ jau guradeo dehuraa firai | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the temple turns itself towards the mortal. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਛਾਪਰਿ ਛਾਈ ॥ jau guradeo ta chhaapar chhaaee | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s home is constructed. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਿਹਜ ਨਿਕਸਾਈ ॥੬॥ jau guradeo sihaj nikasaaee |6| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s bed is lifted up out of the water. ||6|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੇਵਾ ॥੭॥ jau guradeo sabhai bikh mevaa |7| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, all poison is transformed into fruit. ||7|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ॥ jau guradeo ta jam te chhoottai | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one escapes from the Messenger of Death. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਭਉਜਲ ਤਰੈ ॥ jau guradeo ta bhaujal tarai | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ॥੮॥ jau guradeo ta janam na marai |8| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is not subject to the cycle of reincarnation. ||8|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਭਾਰ ॥ jau guradeo atthaarah bhaar | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, it is as if one has made an offering of the eighten loads of vegetation. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ bin guradeo avar nahee jaaee | When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one needs no other place of rest. - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਨਹੀ ਆਸਾ ॥ bin dekhe upajai nahee aasaa | Without seeing something, the yearning for it does not arise. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥ jo deesai so hoe binaasaa | Whatever is seen, shall pass away. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਬਰਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ baran sahit jo jaapai naam | Whoever chants and praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord, - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ so jogee keval nihakaam |1| is the true Yogi, free of desire. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਪਰਚੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥ parachai raam ravai jau koee | When someone utters the Name of the Lord with love, - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸੈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ paaras parasai dubidhaa na hoee |1| rahaau | it is as if he has touched the philosopher’s stone; his sense of duality is eradicated. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਸੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਖਾਇ ॥ so mun man kee dubidhaa khaae | He alone is a silent sage, who destroys the duality of his mind. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਸਮਾਇ ॥ bin duaare trai lok samaae | Keeping the doors of his body closed, he merges in the Lord of the three worlds. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ॥ man kaa subhaau sabh koee karai | Everyone acts according to the inclinations of the mind. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਕਰਤਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਨਭੈ ਰਹੈ ॥੨॥ karataa hoe su anabhai rahai |2| Attuned to the Creator Lord, one remains free of fear. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਫਲ ਕਾਰਨ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥ fal kaaran foolee banaraae | Plants blossom forth to produce fruit. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥ fal laagaa tab fool bilaae | When the fruit is produced, the flowers wither away. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਗਿਆਨੈ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਮ ਅਭਿਆਸੁ ॥ giaanai kaaran karam abhiaas | For the sake of spiritual wisdom, people act and practice rituals. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਹ ਕਰਮਹ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੩॥ giaan bheaa teh karamah naas |3| When spiritual wisdom wells up, then actions are left behind. ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਧਿ ਮਥੈ ਸਇਆਨ ॥ ghrit kaaran dadh mathai seaan | For the sake of ghee, wise people churn milk. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਨ ॥ jeevat mukat sadaa nirabaan | Those who are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive - are forever in the state of Nirvaanaa. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਕਹਿ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਪਰਮ ਬੈਰਾਗ ॥ keh ravidaas param bairaag | Says Ravi Daas, O you unfortunate people, - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਰਿਦੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਕੀ ਨ ਜਪਸਿ ਅਭਾਗ ॥੪॥੧॥ ridai raam kee na japas abhaag |4|1| why not meditate on the Lord with love in your heart? ||4||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਜਿਨਿ ਆਕਾਸ ਕੁਲਹ ਸਿਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਕਉਸੈ ਸਪਤ ਪਯਾਲਾ ॥ jin aakaas kulah sir keenee kausai sapat payaalaa | Your cap is the realm of the Akaashic ethers; the seven nether worlds are Your sandals. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਚਮਰ ਪੋਸ ਕਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਨੇ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ chamar pos kaa mandar teraa ih bidh bane gupaalaa |1| The body covered with skin is Your temple; You are so beautiful, O Lord of the World. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਛਪਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਾ ਪੇਹਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੋਲਹ ਸਹਸ ਇਜਾਰਾ ॥ chhapan kott kaa pehan teraa solah sehas ijaaraa | The fifty-six million clouds are Your gowns, the 16,000 milkmaids are your skirts. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਭਾਰ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਮੁਦਗਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਹਨਕ ਸਭ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ bhaar atthaarah mudagar teraa sahanak sabh sansaaraa |2| The eighteen loads of vegetation is Your stick, and all the world is Your plate. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਜਿਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਾਨਾ ਸਹਜ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਗੁਜਾਰੈ ॥ dehee mahajid man maulaanaa sehaj nivaaj gujaarai | The human body is the mosque, and the mind is the priest, who peacefully leads the prayer. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬੀਬੀ ਕਉਲਾ ਸਉ ਕਾਇਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਆਕਾਰੈ ॥੩॥ beebee kaulaa sau kaaein teraa nirankaar aakaarai |3| You are married to Maya, O Formless Lord, and so You have taken form. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਾਲ ਛਿਨਾਏ ਕਿਹ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਉ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ॥ bhagat karat mere taal chhinaae kih peh krau pukaaraa | Performing devotional worship services to You, my cymbals were taken away; unto whom should I complain? - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਫਿਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਬੇਦੇਸਵਾ ॥੪॥੧॥ naame kaa suaamee antarajaamee fire sagal bedesavaa |4|1| Naam Dayv’s Lord and Master, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, wanders everywhere; He has no specific home. ||4||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
