ਹੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਕਤ ਦੂਰਿ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥ hai hajoor kat door bataavahu | God is present, right here at hand; why do you say that He is far away? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਧਹੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dundar baadhahu sundar paavahu |1| rahaau | Tie up your disturbing passions, and find the Beauteous Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਜੀ ਸੋ ਜੁ ਕਾਇਆ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ॥ kaajee so ju kaaeaa beechaarai | He alone is a Qazi, who contemplates the human body, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਇਆ ਕੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਜਾਰੈ ॥ kaaeaa kee agan braham parajaarai | and through the fire of the body, is illumined by God. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁਪਨੈ ਬਿੰਦੁ ਨ ਦੇਈ ਝਰਨਾ ॥ supanai bind na deee jharanaa | He does not lose his semen, even in his dreams; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਕਾਜੀ ਕਉ ਜਰਾ ਨ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥ tis kaajee kau jaraa na maranaa |2| for such a Qazi, there is no old age or death. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਸੁਰਤਾਨੁ ਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਸਰ ਤਾਨੈ ॥ so surataan ju due sar taanai | He alone is a sultan and a king, who shoots the two arrows, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਆਨੈ ॥ baahar jaataa bheetar aanai | gathers in his outgoing mind, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗਗਨ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਲਸਕਰੁ ਕਰੈ ॥ gagan manddal meh lasakar karai | and assembles his army in the realm of the mind’s sky, the Tenth Gate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਸੁਰਤਾਨੁ ਛਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਰੈ ॥੩॥ so surataan chhatru sir dharai |3| The canopy of royalty waves over such a sultan. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੋਗੀ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਗੋਰਖੁ ਕਰੈ ॥ jogee gorakh gorakh karai | The Yogi cries out, “Gorakh, Gorakh”. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰੈ ॥ hindoo raam naam ucharai | The Hindu utters the Name of Raam. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਕਾ ਏਕੁ ਖੁਦਾਇ ॥ musalamaan kaa ek khudaae | The Muslim has only One God. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥੧੧॥ kabeer kaa suaamee rahiaa samaae |4|3|11| The Lord and Master of Kabeer is all-pervading. ||4||3||11|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਜੋ ਪਾਥਰ ਕਉ ਕਹਤੇ ਦੇਵ ॥ jo paathar kau kahate dev | Those who call a stone their god - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੇਵ ॥ taa kee birathaa hovai sev | their service is useless. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਪਾਥਰ ਕੀ ਪਾਂਈ ਪਾਇ ॥ jo paathar kee paanee paae | Those who fall at the feet of a stone god - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਘਾਲ ਅਜਾਂਈ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ tis kee ghaal ajaanee jaae |1|
- their work is wasted in vain. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਹਮਰਾ ਸਦ ਬੋਲੰਤਾ ॥ tthaakur hamaraa sad bolantaa | My Lord and Master speaks forever. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sarab jeea kau prabh daan detaa |1| rahaau | God gives His gifts to all living beings. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਦੇਉ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਅੰਧੁ ॥ antar deo na jaanai andh | The Divine Lord is within the self, but the spiritually blind one does not know this. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਾ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਪਾਵੈ ਫੰਧੁ ॥ bhram kaa mohiaa paavai fandh | Deluded by doubt, he is caught in the noose. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨ ਪਾਥਰੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੇਇ ॥ n paathar bolai naa kichh dee | The stone does not speak; it does not give anything to anyone. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਫੋਕਟ ਕਰਮ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਹੈ ਸੇਵ ॥੨॥ fokatt karam nihafal hai sev |2| Such religious rituals are useless; such service is fruitless. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੇ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕਉ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਚੜਾਵੈ ॥ je miratak kau chandan charraavai | If a corpse is anointed with sandalwood oil, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਉਸ ਤੇ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਵਨ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ aus te kahahu kavan fal paavai | what good does it do? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੇ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਮਾਹਿ ਰੁਲਾਈ ॥ je miratak kau bisattaa maeh rulaaee | If a corpse is rolled in manure, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾਂ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਘਟਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ taan miratak kaa kiaa ghatt jaaee |3| what does it lose from this? ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਕਹਉ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥ kehat kabeer hau khau pukaar | Says Kabeer, I proclaim this out loud - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਮਝਿ ਦੇਖੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਗਾਵਾਰ ॥ samajh dekh saakat gaavaar | behold, and understand, you ignorant, faithless cynic. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਘਰ ਗਾਲੇ ॥ doojai bhaae bahut ghar gaale | The love of duality has ruined countless homes. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤ ਹੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਾਲੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੨॥ raam bhagat hai sadaa sukhaale |4|4|12| The Lord’s devotees are forever in bliss. ||4||4||12|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਮੀਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬੇਧੇ ॥ jal meh meen maaeaa ke bedhe | The fish in the water is attached to Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੀਪਕ ਪਤੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਛੇਦੇ ॥ deepak patang maaeaa ke chhede | The moth fluttering around the lamp is pierced through by Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਮ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੁੰਚਰ ਕਉ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥ kaam maaeaa kunchar kau biaapai | The sexual desire of Maya afflicts the elephant. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭੁਇਅੰਗਮ ਭ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਖਾਪੇ ॥੧॥ bhueiangam bhring maaeaa meh khaape |1| The snakes and bumble bees are destroyed through Maya. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਐਸੀ ਮੋਹਨੀ ਭਾਈ ॥ maaeaa aisee mohanee bhaaee | Such are the enticements of Maya, O Siblings of Destiny. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੇਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਤੇ ਡਹਕਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jete jeea tete ddahakaaee |1| rahaau | As many living beings are there are, have been deceived. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਖੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥ pankhee mrig maaeaa meh raate | The birds and the deer are imbued with Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਕਰ ਮਾਖੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੰਤਾਪੇ ॥ saakar maakhee adhik santaape | Sugar is a deadly trap for the flies. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੁਰੇ ਉਸਟ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਭੇਲਾ ॥ ture usatt maaeaa meh bhelaa | Horses and camels are absorbed in Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਿਧ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਲਾ ॥੨॥ sidh chauraaseeh maaeaa meh khelaa |2| The eighty-four Siddhas, the beings of miraculous spiritual powers, play in Maya. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛਿਅ ਜਤੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੇ ਬੰਦਾ ॥ chhia jatee maaeaa ke bandaa | The six celibates are slaves of Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਵੈ ਨਾਥ ਸੂਰਜ ਅਰੁ ਚੰਦਾ ॥ navai naath sooraj ar chandaa | So are the nine masters of Yoga, and the sun and the moon. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਪੇ ਰਖੀਸਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਤਾ ॥ tape rakheesar maaeaa meh sootaa | The austere disciplinarians and the Rishis are asleep in Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਕਾਲੁ ਅਰੁ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤਾ ॥੩॥ maaeaa meh kaal ar panch dootaa |3| Death and the five demons are in Maya. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁਆਨ ਸਿਆਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ suaan siaal maaeaa meh raataa | Dogs and jackals are imbued with Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੰਤਰ ਚੀਤੇ ਅਰੁ ਸਿੰਘਾਤਾ ॥ bantar cheete ar singhaataa | Monkeys, leopards and lions, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਂਜਾਰ ਗਾਡਰ ਅਰੁ ਲੂਬਰਾ ॥ maanjaar gaaddar ar loobaraa | cats, sheep, foxes, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਰਖ ਮੂਲ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਾ ॥੪॥ birakh mool maaeaa meh paraa |4| trees and roots are planted in Maya. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਇਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭੀਨੇ ਦੇਵ ॥ maaeaa antar bheene dev | Even the gods are drenched with Maya, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਗਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਅਰੁ ਧਰਤੇਵ ॥ saagar indraa ar dharatev | as are the oceans, the sky and the earth. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਉਦਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ keh kabeer jis udar tis maaeaa | Says Kabeer, whoever has a belly to fill, is under the spell of Maya. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਛੂਟੇ ਜਬ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੩॥ tab chhootte jab saadhoo paaeaa |5|5|13| The mortal is emancipated only when he meets the Holy Saint. ||5||5||13|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰੈ ॥ jab lag meree meree karai | As long as he cries out, Mine! Mine!, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਕਾਜੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਹੀ ਸਰੈ ॥ tab lag kaaj ek nahee sarai | none of his tasks is accomplished. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਿਟਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ jab meree meree mitt jaae | When such possessiveness is erased and removed, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
