ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਛਾਡੇ ਦੋਊ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ panddit mulaan chhaadde doaoo |1| rahaau | I have abandoned both the Pandits, the Hindu religious scholars, and the Mullahs, the Muslim priests. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੁਨਿ ਬੁਨਿ ਆਪ ਆਪੁ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਉ ॥ bun bun aap aap pahiraavau | I weave and weave, and wear what I weave. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਹ ਨਹੀ ਆਪੁ ਤਹਾ ਹੋਇ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੨॥ jeh nahee aap tahaa hoe gaavau |2| Where egotism does not exist, there I sing God’s Praises. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿ ਦੀਆ ॥ panddit mulaan jo likh deea | Whatever the Pandits and Mullahs have written, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛਾਡਿ ਚਲੇ ਹਮ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥ chhaadd chale ham kachhoo na leea |3| I reject; I do not accept any of it. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਿਦੈ ਇਖਲਾਸੁ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਲੇ ਮੀਰਾ ॥ ridai ikhalaas nirakh le meeraa | My heart is pure, and so I have seen the Lord within. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਪੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੭॥ aap khoj khoj mile kabeeraa |4|7| Searching, searching within the self, Kabeer has met the Lord. ||4||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਰਧਨ ਆਦਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਦੇਇ ॥ niradhan aadar koee na dee | No one respects the poor man. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲਾਖ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਓਹੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਧਰੇਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ laakh jatan karai ohu chit na dharee |1| rahaau | He may make thousands of efforts, but no one pays any attention to him. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਸਰਧਨ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ jau niradhan saradhan kai jaae | When the poor man goes to the rich man, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਗੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਪੀਠਿ ਫਿਰਾਇ ॥੧॥ aage baitthaa peetth firaae |1| and sits right in front of him, the rich man turns his back on him. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਸਰਧਨੁ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ jau saradhan niradhan kai jaae | But when the rich man goes to the poor man, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੀਆ ਆਦਰੁ ਲੀਆ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੨॥ deea aadar leea bulaae |2| the poor man welcomes him with respect. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਸਰਧਨੁ ਦੋਨਉ ਭਾਈ ॥ niradhan saradhan donau bhaaee | The poor man and the rich man are both brothers. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਕਲਾ ਨ ਮੇਟੀ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ prabh kee kalaa na mettee jaaee |3| God’s pre-ordained plan cannot be erased. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ॥ keh kabeer niradhan hai soee | Says Kabeer, he alone is poor, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੮॥ jaa ke hiradai naam na hoee |4|8| who does not have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in his heart. ||4||8|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਮਾਈ ॥ gur sevaa te bhagat kamaaee | Serving the Guru, devotional worship is practiced. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਬ ਇਹ ਮਾਨਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥ tab ih maanas dehee paaee | Then, this human body is obtained. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਦੇਵ ॥ eis dehee kau simareh dev | Even the gods long for this human body. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਦੇਹੀ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ so dehee bhaj har kee sev |1| So vibrate that human body, and think of serving the Lord. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭਜਹੁ ਗੋੁਬਿੰਦ ਭੂਲਿ ਮਤ ਜਾਹੁ ॥ bhajahu guobind bhool mat jaahu | Vibrate, and meditate on the Lord of the Universe, and never forget Him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਏਹੀ ਲਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ maanas janam kaa ehee laahu |1| rahaau | This is the blessed opportunity of this human incarnation. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜਰਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ jab lag jaraa rog nahee aaeaa | As long as the disease of old age has not come to the body, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਕਾਲਿ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਇਆ ॥ jab lag kaal grasee nahee kaaeaa | and as long as death has not come and seized the body, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਬਿਕਲ ਭਈ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ jab lag bikal bhee nahee baanee | and as long as your voice has not lost its power, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭਜਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥੨॥ bhaj lehi re man saarigapaanee |2| O mortal being, vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the World. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਨ ਭਜਸਿ ਭਜਸਿ ਕਬ ਭਾਈ ॥ ab na bhajas bhajas kab bhaaee | If you do not vibrate and meditate on Him now, when will you, O Sibing of Destiny? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਵੈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਭਜਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥ aavai ant na bhajiaa jaaee | When the end comes, you will not be able to vibrate and meditate on Him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਅਬ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ jo kichh kareh soee ab saar | Whatever you have to do - now is the best time to do it. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਹੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥ fir pachhutaahu na paavahu paar |3| Otherwise, you shall regret and repent afterwards, and you shall not be carried across to the other side. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੇਵ ॥ so sevak jo laaeaa sev | He alone is a servant, whom the Lord enjoins to His service. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਏ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ॥ tin hee paae niranjan dev | He alone attains the Immaculate Divine Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਖੁਲੑੇ ਕਪਾਟ ॥ gur mil taa ke khulae kapaatt | Meeting with the Guru, his doors are opened wide, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੋਨੀ ਬਾਟ ॥੪॥ bahur na aavai jonee baatt |4| and he does not have to journey again on the path of reincarnation. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਰ ॥ eihee teraa aausar ih teree baar | This is your chance, and this is your time. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤੂ ਦੇਖੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥ ghatt bheetar too dekh bichaar | Look deep into your own heart, and reflect on this. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਕੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥ kehat kabeer jeet kai haar | Says Kabeer, you can win or lose. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਹਿਓ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥੫॥੧॥੯॥ bahu bidh kahio pukaar pukaar |5|1|9| In so many ways, I have proclaimed this out loud. ||5||1||9|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਬਸੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ siv kee puree basai budh saar | In the City of God, sublime understanding prevails. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਹ ਤੁਮੑ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਿਚਾਰੁ ॥ teh tuma mil kai karahu bichaar | There, you shall meet with the Lord, and reflect on Him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਰੈ ॥ eet aoot kee sojhee parai | Thus, you shall understand this world and the next. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਉਨੁ ਕਰਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਰੈ ॥੧॥ kaun karam meraa kar kar marai |1| What is the use of claiming that you own everything, if you only die in the end? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਜ ਪਦ ਊਪਰਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥ nij pad aoopar laago dhiaan | I focus my meditation on my inner self, deep within. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ raajaa raam naam moraa braham giaan |1| rahaau | The Name of the Sovereign Lord is my spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੂਲ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਬੰਧਿਆ ਬੰਧੁ ॥ mool duaarai bandhiaa bandh | In the first chakra, the root chakra, I have grasped the reins and tied them. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਵਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਗਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਚੰਦੁ ॥ rav aoopar geh raakhiaa chand | I have firmly placed the moon above the sun. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਛਮ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਤਪੈ ॥ pachham duaarai sooraj tapai | The sun blazes forth at the western gate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੇਰ ਡੰਡ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਸੈ ॥੨॥ mer ddandd sir aoopar basai |2| Through the central channel of the Shushmanaa, it rises up above my head. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਸਚਮ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਿਲ ਓੜ ॥ pasacham duaare kee sil orr | There is a stone at that western gate, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਹ ਸਿਲ ਊਪਰਿ ਖਿੜਕੀ ਅਉਰ ॥ tih sil aoopar khirrakee aaur | and above that stone, is another window. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਖਿੜਕੀ ਊਪਰਿ ਦਸਵਾ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ khirrakee aoopar dasavaa duaar | Above that window is the Tenth Gate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥੨॥੧੦॥ keh kabeer taa kaa ant na paar |3|2|10| Says Kabeer, it has no end or limitation. ||3||2||10|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਰੈ ॥ so mulaan jo man siau larai | He alone is a Mullah, who struggles with his mind, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਕਾਲ ਸਿਉ ਜੁਰੈ ॥ gur upades kaal siau jurai | and through the Guru’s Teachings, fights with death. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾ ਮਰਦੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ kaal purakh kaa maradai maan | He crushes the pride of the Messenger of Death. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਲਾ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ tis mulaa kau sadaa salaam |1| Unto that Mullah, I ever offer greetings of respect. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
