ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥ raam raajaa nau nidh merai | The Sovereign Lord is the nine treasures for me. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੰਪੈ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sanpai het kalat dhan terai |1| rahaau | The possessions and the spouse to which the mortal is lovingly attached, are Your wealth, O Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਵਤ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਗਾਤੀ ॥ aavat sang na jaat sangaatee | They do not come with the mortal, and they do not go with him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥ kahaa bheo dar baandhe haathee |2| What good does it do him, if he has elephants tied up at his doorway? ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲੰਕਾ ਗਢੁ ਸੋਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ॥ lankaa gadt sone kaa bheaa | The fortress of Sri Lanka was made out of gold, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੂਰਖੁ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਲੇ ਗਇਆ ॥੩॥ moorakh raavan kiaa le geaa |3| but what could the foolish Raawan take with him when he left? ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ keh kabeer kichh gun beechaar | Says Kabeer, think of doing some good deeds. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਲੇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਦੁਇ ਹਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥ chale juaaree due hath jhaar |4|2| In the end, the gambler shall depart empty-handed. ||4||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਇੰਦੁ ॥ mailaa brahamaa mailaa ind | Brahma is polluted, and Indra is polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਵਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ ਚੰਦੁ ॥੧॥ rav mailaa mailaa hai chand |1| The sun is polluted, and the moon is polluted. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲਾ ਮਲਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ mailaa malataa ihu sansaar | This world is polluted with pollution. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ eik har niramal jaa kaa ant na paar |1| rahaau | Only the One Lord is Immaculate; He has no end or limitation. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਇ ਕੈ ਈਸ ॥ maile brahamanddaae kai ees | The rulers of kingdoms are polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੇ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਸ ॥੨॥ maile nis baasur din tees |2| Nights and days, and the days of the month are polluted. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲਾ ਮੋਤੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੀਰੁ ॥ mailaa motee mailaa heer | The pearl is polluted, the diamond is polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲਾ ਪਉਨੁ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਅਰੁ ਨੀਰੁ ॥੩॥ mailaa paun paavak ar neer |3| Wind, fire and water are polluted. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੰਕਰਾ ਮਹੇਸ ॥ maile siv sankaraa mahes | Shiva, Shankara and Mahaysh are polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਭੇਖ ॥੪॥ maile sidh saadhik ar bhekh |4| The Siddhas, seekers and strivers, and those who wear religious robes, are polluted. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਜਟਾ ਸਹੇਤਿ ॥ maile jogee jangam jattaa sahet | The Yogis and wandering hermits with their matted hair are polluted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈਲੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਹੰਸ ਸਮੇਤਿ ॥੫॥ mailee kaaeaa hans samet |5| The body, along with the swan-soul, is polluted. ||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥ keh kabeer te jan paravaan | Says Kabeer, those humble beings are approved and pure, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੬॥੩॥ niramal te jo raameh jaan |6|3| Who know the Lord. ||6||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਕਾ ਕਿਬਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ॥ man kar makaa kibalaa kar dehee | Let your mind be Mecca, and your body the temple of worship. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬੋਲਨਹਾਰੁ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਹੀ ॥੧॥ bolanahaar param gur ehee |1| Let the Supreme Guru be the One who speaks. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥ kahu re mulaan baang nivaaj | O Mullah, utter the call to prayer. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਏਕ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਦਸੈ ਦਰਵਾਜ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ek maseet dasai daravaaj |1| rahaau | The one mosque has ten doors. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਿਸਿਮਿਲਿ ਤਾਮਸੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਦੂਰੀ ॥ misimil taamas bharam kadooree | So slaughter your evil nature, doubt and cruelty; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਭਾਖਿ ਲੇ ਪੰਚੈ ਹੋਇ ਸਬੂਰੀ ॥੨॥ bhaakh le panchai hoe sabooree |2| consume the five demons and you shall be blessed with contentment. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕ ॥ hindoo turak kaa saahib ek | Hindus and Muslims have the same One Lord and Master. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਸੇਖ ॥੩॥ keh karai mulaan keh karai sekh |3| What can the Mullah do, and what can the Shaykh do? ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ॥ keh kabeer hau bheaa divaanaa | Says Kabeer, I have gone insane. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੁਸਿ ਮੁਸਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੪॥ mus mus manooaa sehaj samaanaa |4|4| Slaughtering, slaughtering my mind, I have merged into the Celestial Lord. ||4||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੰਗਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਬਿਗਰੀ ॥ gangaa kai sang salitaa bigaree | When the stream flows into the Ganges, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਗੰਗਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰੀ ॥੧॥ so salitaa gangaa hoe nibaree |1| Then it becomes the Ganges. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥ bigario kabeeraa raam duhaaee | Just so, Kabeer has changed. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਾਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਅਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saach bheo an kateh na jaaee |1| rahaau | He has become the Embodiment of Truth, and he does not go anywhere else. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚੰਦਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥ chandan kai sang taravar bigario | Associating with the sandalwood tree, the tree nearby is changed; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੨॥ so taravar chandan hoe nibario |2| that tree begins to smell just like the sandalwood tree. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਰਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥ paaras kai sang taanbaa bigario | Coming into contact with the philosophers’ stone, copper is transformed; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੩॥ so taanbaa kanchan hoe nibario |3| that copper is transformed into gold. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥ santan sang kabeeraa bigario | In the Society of the Saints, Kabeer is transformed; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੪॥੫॥ so kabeer raamai hoe nibario |4|5| that Kabeer is transformed into the Lord. ||4||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਥੇ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਹਥਿ ਮਾਲਾ ਬਾਨਾਂ ॥ maathe tilak hath maalaa baanaan | Some apply ceremonial marks to their foreheads, hold malas in their hands, and wear religious robes. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲੋਗਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਖਿਲਉਨਾ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥ logan raam khilaunaa jaanaan |1| Some people think that the Lord is a play-thing. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਹਉ ਬਉਰਾ ਤਉ ਰਾਮ ਤੋਰਾ ॥ jau hau bauraa tau raam toraa | If I am insane, then I am Yours, O Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲੋਗੁ ਮਰਮੁ ਕਹ ਜਾਨੈ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ log maram keh jaanai moraa |1| rahaau | How can people know my secret? ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੋਰਉ ਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਪੂਜਉ ਨ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ torau na paatee poojau na devaa | I do not pick leaves as offerings, and I do not worship idols. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੨॥ raam bhagat bin nihafal sevaa |2| Without devotional worship of the Lord, service is useless. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਾਵਉ ॥ satigur poojau sadaa sadaa manaavau | I worship the True Guru; forever and ever, I surrender to Him. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਐਸੀ ਸੇਵ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥ aisee sev daragah sukh paavau |3| By such service, I find peace in the Court of the Lord. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਲੋਗੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥ log kahai kabeer bauraanaa | People say that Kabeer has gone insane. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ ਰਾਮ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਾਂ ॥੪॥੬॥ kabeer kaa maram raam pahichaanaan |4|6| Only the Lord realizes the secret of Kabeer. ||4||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਉਲਟਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਦੋਊ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥ aulatt jaat kul doaoo bisaaree | Turning away from the world, I have forgotten both my social class and ancestry. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਬੁਨਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ sun sehaj meh bunat hamaaree |1| My weaving now is in the most profound celestial stillness. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮਰਾ ਝਗਰਾ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਊ ॥ hamaraa jhagaraa rahaa na koaoo | I have no quarrel with anyone. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
