ਮੇਰੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਤ ਚਵਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ merai antar hoe vigaas priau priau sach nit chavaa raam | My inner being blossoms forth; I continually utter, “Pri-o! Pri-o! Beloved! Beloved!” - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਚਵਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਏ ॥ priau chavaa piaare sabad nisataare bin dekhe tripat na aave | I speak of my Dear Beloved, and through the Shabad, I am saved. Unless I can see Him, I am not satisfied. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਏ ॥ sabad seegaar hovai nit kaaman har har naam dhiaave | That soul-bride who is ever adorned with the Shabad, meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ deaa daan mangat jan deejai mai preetam dehu milaae | Please bless this beggar, Your humble servant, with the Gift of Mercy; please unite me with my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਹਮ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਘੁਮਾਏ ॥੨॥ anadin gur gopaal dhiaaee ham satigur vittahu ghumaae |2| Night and day, I meditate on the Guru, the Lord of the World; I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮ ਪਾਥਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਵ ਬਿਖੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ ham paathar gur naav bikh bhavajal taareeai raam | I am a stone in the Boat of the Guru. Please carry me across the terrifying ocean of poison. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੈ ਮੂੜ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur devahu sabad subhaae mai moorr nisataareeai raam | O Guru, please, lovingly bless me with the Word of the Shabad. I am such a fool - please save me! - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ਤੂ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਵਡ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥ ham moorr mugadh kichh mit nahee paaee too agam vadd jaaniaa | I am a fool and an idiot; I know nothing of Your extent. You are known as Inaccessible and Great. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ॥ too aap deaal deaa kar meleh ham niragunee nimaaniaa | You Yourself are Merciful; please, mercifully bless me. I am unworthy and dishonored - please, unite me with Yourself! - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨੇਕ ਜਨਮ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮੇ ਹੁਣਿ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ॥ anek janam paap kar bharame hun tau saranaagat aae | Through countless lifetimes, I wandered in sin; now, I have come seeking Your Sanctuary. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਹਮ ਲਾਗਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥ deaa karahu rakh levahu har jeeo ham laagah satigur paae |3| Take pity on me and save me, Dear Lord; I have grasped the Feet of the True Guru. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਸ ਹਮ ਲੋਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur paaras ham loh mil kanchan hoeaa raam | The Guru is the Philosopher’s Stone; by His touch, iron is transformed into gold. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ jotee jot milaae kaaeaa garr sohiaa raam | My light merges into the Light, and my body-fortress is so beautiful. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥ kaaeaa garr sohiaa merai prabh mohiaa kiau saas giraas visaareeai | My body-fortress is so beautiful; I am fascinated by my God. How could I forget Him, for even a breath, or a morsel of food? - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਪਕੜਿਆ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀਐ ॥ adrisatt agochar pakarriaa gurasabadee hau satigur kai balihaareeai | I have seized the Unseen and Unfathomable Lord, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਸੀਸੁ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਉ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ satigur aagai sees bhett deo je satigur saache bhaavai | I place my head in offering before the True Guru, if it truly pleases the True Guru. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਆਪੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧॥ aape deaa karahu prabh daate naanak ank samaavai |4|1| Take pity on me, O God, Great Giver, that Nanak may merge in Your Being. ||4||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਅਪਰਪਰਾ ॥ har har agam agaadh aparanpar aparaparaa | The Lord, Har, Har, is Inaccessible, Unfathomable, Infinite, the Farthest of the Far. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰਾ ॥ jo tum dhiaaveh jagadees te jan bhau bikham taraa | Those who meditate on You, O Lord of the Universe - those humble beings cross over the terrifying, treacherous world-ocean. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਖਮ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ bikham bhau tin tariaa suhelaa jin har har naam dhiaaeaa | Those who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, easily cross over the terrifying, treacherous world-ocean. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਵਾਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਭਾਇ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ gur vaak satigur jo bhaae chale tin har har aap milaaeaa | Those who lovingly walk in harmony with the Word of the Guru, the True Guru - the Lord, Har, Har, unites them with Himself. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਣੀਧਰਾ ॥ jotee jot mil jot samaanee har kripaa kar dharaneedharaa | The mortal’s light meets the Light of God, and blends with that Divine Light when the Lord, the Support of the Earth, grants His Grace. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਤੁਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ tum suaamee agam athaah too ghatt ghatt poor rahiaa | O my Lord and Master, You are Inaccessible and Unfathomable. You are totally pervading and permeating each and every heart. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਲਹਿਆ ॥ too alakh abheo agam gur satigur bachan lahiaa | You are Unseen, Unknowable and Unfathomable; You are found through the Word of the Guru, the True Guru. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੇ ॥ dhan dhan te jan purakh poore jin gur santasangat mil gun rave | Blessed, blessed are those humble, powerful and perfect people, who join the Guru’s Sangat, the Society of the Saints, and chant His Glorious Praises. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੁਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਚਵੇ ॥ bibek budh beechaar guramukh gur sabad khin khin har nit chave | With clear and precise understanding, the Gurmukhs contemplate the Guru’s Shabad; each and every instant, they continually speak of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਾ ਬਹਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਜਾ ਖੜੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ॥ jaa baheh guramukh har naam boleh jaa kharre guramukh har har kahiaa | When the Gurmukh sits down, he chants the Lord’s Name. When the Gurmukh stands up, he chants the Lord’s Name, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸੇਵਕ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰੇ ॥ sevak jan seveh te paravaan jin seviaa guramat hare | Those humble servants who serve are accepted. They serve the Lord, and follow the Guru’s Teachings. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥ tin ke kott sabh paap khin parahar har door kare | All their millions of sins are taken away in an instant; the Lord takes them far away. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਇਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥ tin ke paap dokh sabh binase jin man chit ik araadhiaa | All their sin and blame is washed away. They worship and adore the One Lord with their conscious minds. - Guru Ramdas Ji
