ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਸੁੰਨ ਰਹਿਆ ਲਿਵ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੪॥ kahu kabeer jo naam samaane sun rahiaa liv soee |4|4| Says Kabeer, whoever is absorbed in the Naam remains lovingly absorbed in the Primal, Absolute Lord. ||4||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਤੁਮੑ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਹਉ ਤਉ ਤੁਮ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਬਤਾਵਹੁ ॥ jau tuma mo kau door karat hau tau tum mukat bataavahu | If You keep me far away from You, then tell me, what is liberation? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੋਇ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਗਲ ਮਹਿ ਅਬ ਕੈਸੇ ਭਰਮਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ek anek hoe rahio sagal meh ab kaise bharamaavahu |1| The One has many forms, and is contained within all; how can I be fooled now? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਮ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਤਾਰਿ ਕਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਜਈ ਹੈ ॥ raam mo kau taar kahaan lai jee hai | O Lord, where will You take me, to save me? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋਧਉ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਦੇਉ ਕੈਸੀ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sodhau mukat kahaa deo kaisee kar prasaad mohi paaee hai |1| rahaau | Tell me where, and what sort of liberation shall You give me? By Your Grace, I have already obtained it. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾਰਨ ਤਰਨੁ ਤਬੈ ਲਗੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਤਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ taaran taran tabai lag kaheeai jab lag tat na jaaniaa | People talk of salvation and being saved, as long as they do not understand the essence of reality. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਤਉ ਬਿਮਲ ਭਏ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੨॥੫॥ ab tau bimal bhe ghatt hee meh keh kabeer man maaniaa |2|5| I have now become pure within my heart, says Kabeer, and my mind is pleased and appeased. ||2||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਗੜ ਕੋਟ ਕੀਏ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ਸੋ ਰਾਵਨੁ ॥੧॥ jin garr kott kee kanchan ke chhodd geaa so raavan |1| Raawan made castles and fortresses of gold, but he had to abandon them when he left. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਹੇ ਕੀਜਤੁ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਨੁ ॥ kaahe keejat hai man bhaavan | Why do you act only to please your mind? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਕੇਸ ਤੇ ਪਕਰੈ ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਛਡਾਵਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jab jam aae kes te pakarai teh har ko naam chhaddaavan |1| rahaau | When Death comes and grabs you by the hair, then only the Name of the Lord will save you. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਾਲੁ ਅਕਾਲੁ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਕੀਨੑਾ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਬਧਾਵਨੁ ॥ kaal akaal khasam kaa keenaa ihu parapanch badhaavan | Death, and deathlessness are the creations of our Lord and Master; this show, this expanse, is only an entanglement. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਜਿਨੑ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਨੁ ॥੨॥੬॥ keh kabeer te ante mukate jina hiradai raam rasaaein |2|6| Says Kabeer, those who have the sublime essence of the Lord in their hearts - in the end, they are liberated. ||2||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਦੇਹੀ ਗਾਵਾ ਜੀਉ ਧਰ ਮਹਤਉ ਬਸਹਿ ਪੰਚ ਕਿਰਸਾਨਾ ॥ dehee gaavaa jeeo dhar mahtau baseh panch kirasaanaa | The body is a village, and the soul is the owner and farmer; the five farm-hands live there. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨੈਨੂ ਨਕਟੂ ਸ੍ਰਵਨੂ ਰਸਪਤਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਕਹਿਆ ਨ ਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ nainoo nakattoo sravanoo rasapat indree kahiaa na maanaa |1| The eyes, nose, ears, tongue and sensory organs of touch do not obey any order. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਬਾ ਅਬ ਨ ਬਸਉ ਇਹ ਗਾਉ ॥ baabaa ab na bsau ih gaau | O father, now I shall not live in this village. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਘਰੀ ਘਰੀ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਕਾਇਥੁ ਚੇਤੂ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gharee gharee kaa lekhaa maagai kaaeith chetoo naau |1| rahaau | The accountants summoned Chitar and Gupat, the recording scribes of the conscious and the unconscious, to ask for an account of each and every moment. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਬ ਲੇਖਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਬਾਕੀ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ dharam raae jab lekhaa maagai baakee nikasee bhaaree | When the Righteous Judge of Dharma calls for my account, there shall be a very heavy balance against me. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੰਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਾਨਵਾ ਭਾਗਿ ਗਏ ਲੈ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਜੀਉ ਦਰਬਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ panch krisaanavaa bhaag ge lai baadhio jeeo darabaaree |2| The five farm-hands shall then run away, and the bailiff shall arrest the soul. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਖੇਤ ਹੀ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥ kahai kabeer sunahu re santahu khet hee karahu niberaa | Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints: settle your accounts in this farm. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਬਖਸਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਕਉ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਭਉਜਲਿ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੩॥੭॥ ab kee baar bakhas bande kau bahur na bhaujal feraa |3|7| O Lord, please forgive Your slave now, in this life, so that he may not have to return again to this terrifying world-ocean. ||3||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਅਨਭਉ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ anbhau kinai na dekhiaa bairaageearre | No one has seen the Fearless Lord, O renunciate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਭੈ ਅਨਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੧॥ bin bhai anbhau hoe vanaahanbai |1| Without the Fear of God, how can the Fearless Lord be obtained? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਹੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਤਾਂ ਭਉ ਪਵੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ sahu hadoor dekhai taan bhau pavai bairaageearre | If one sees the Presence of his Husband Lord near at hand, then he feels the Fear of God, O renunciate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹੁਕਮੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਤ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਹੋਇ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੨॥ hukamai boojhai ta nirbhau hoe vanaahanbai |2| If he realizes the Hukam of the Lord’s Command, then he becomes fearless. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਨ ਕੀਜਈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ har paakhandd na keejee bairaageearre | Don’t practice hypocrisy with the Lord, O renunciate! - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪਾਖੰਡਿ ਰਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੩॥ paakhandd rataa sabh lok vanaahanbai |3| The whole world is filled with hypocrisy. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਪਾਸੁ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ trisanaa paas na chhoddee bairaageearre | Thirst and desire do not just go away, O renunciate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਮਤਾ ਜਾਲਿਆ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੪॥ mamataa jaaliaa pindd vanaahanbai |4| The body is burning in the fire of worldly love and attachment. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚਿੰਤਾ ਜਾਲਿ ਤਨੁ ਜਾਲਿਆ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ chintaa jaal tan jaaliaa bairaageearre | Anxiety is burned, and the body is burned, O renunciate, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਿਰਤਕੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੫॥ je man miratak hoe vanaahanbai |5| only if one lets his mind become dead. ||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ satigur bin bairaag na hovee bairaageearre | Without the True Guru, there can be no renunciation, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੇ ਲੋਚੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੬॥ je lochai sabh koe vanaahanbai |6| even though all the people may wish for it. ||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ karam hovai satigur milai bairaageearre | When God grants His Grace, one meets the True Guru, O renunciate, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਹਜੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੭॥ sahaje paavai soe vanaahanbai |7| and automatically, intuitively finds that Lord. ||7|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਇਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਬੈਰਾਗੀਅੜੇ ॥ kahu kabeer ik benatee bairaageearre | Says Kabeer, I offer this one prayer, O renunciate. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਵਣਾਹੰਬੈ ॥੮॥੧॥੮॥ mo kau bhaujal paar utaar vanaahanbai |8|1|8| Carry me across the terrifying world-ocean. ||8||1||8|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
