ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਖੰਡ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥ simareh khandd deep sabh loaa | All the continents, islands and worlds meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਆ ॥ simareh paataal pureea sach soaa | The nether worlds and spheres meditate in remembrance on that True Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਖਾਣੀ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਨਾ ॥੨॥ simareh khaanee simareh baanee simareh sagale har janaa |2| The sources of creation and speech meditate in remembrance; all the Lord’s humble servants meditate in remembrance. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਬਿਸਨ ਮਹੇਸਾ ॥ simareh brahame bisan mahesaa | Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਕੋੜਿ ਤੇਤੀਸਾ ॥ simareh devate korr teteesaa | The three hundred thirty million gods meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਜਖੵਿ ਦੈਤ ਸਭਿ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਅਗਨਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਜਸੁ ਗਨਾ ॥੩॥ simareh jakhay dait sabh simareh aganat na jaaee jas ganaa |3| The titans and demons all meditate in remembrance; Your Praises are uncountable - they cannot be counted. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਪਸੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਸਭਿ ਭੂਤਾ ॥ simareh pas pankhee sabh bhootaa | All the beasts, birds and demons meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਬਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਅਉਧੂਤਾ ॥ simareh ban parabat aaudhootaa | The forests, mountains and hermits meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਲਤਾ ਬਲੀ ਸਾਖ ਸਭ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਮਨਾ ॥੪॥ lataa balee saakh sabh simareh rav rahiaa suaamee sabh manaa |4| All the vines and branches meditate in remembrance; O my Lord and Master, You are permeating and pervading all minds. ||4|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਥੂਲ ਸੂਖਮ ਸਭਿ ਜੰਤਾ ॥ simareh thool sookham sabh jantaa | All beings, both subtle and gross, meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤਾ ॥ simareh sidh saadhik har mantaa | The Siddhas and seekers meditate in remembrance on the Lord’s Mantra. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਪਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਧਨਾ ॥੫॥ gupat pragatt simareh prabh mere sagal bhavan kaa prabh dhanaa |5| Both the visible and the invisible meditate in remembrance on my God; God is the Master of all worlds. ||5|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਆਸਰਮਾ ॥ simareh nar naaree aasaramaa | Men and women, throughout the four stages of life, meditate in remembrance on You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਵਰਨਾ ॥ simareh jaat jot sabh varanaa | All social classes and souls of all races meditate in remembrance on You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਚਤੁਰ ਸਭਿ ਬੇਤੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਰੈਣੀ ਅਰੁ ਦਿਨਾ ॥੬॥ simareh gunee chatur sabh bete simareh rainee ar dinaa |6| All the virtuous, clever and wise people meditate in remembrance; night and day meditate in remembrance. ||6|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਘੜੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਪਲ ਨਿਮਖਾ ॥ simareh gharree moorat pal nimakhaa | Hours, minutes and seconds meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰੈ ਕਾਲੁ ਅਕਾਲੁ ਸੁਚਿ ਸੋਚਾ ॥ simarai kaal akaal such sochaa | Death and life, and thoughts of purification, meditate in remembrance. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਉਣ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨਾ ॥੭॥ simareh saun saasatr sanjogaa alakh na lakheeai ik khinaa |7| The Shaastras, with their lucky signs and joinings, meditate in remembrance; the invisible cannot be seen, even for an instant. ||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ karan karaavanahaar suaamee | The Lord and Master is the Doer, the Cause of causes. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ sagal ghattaa ke antarajaamee | He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸੋ ਜਿਨਾ ॥੮॥ kar kirapaa jis bhagatee laavahu janam padaarath so jinaa |8| That person, whom You bless with Your Grace, and link to Your devotional service, wins this invaluable human life. ||8|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥ jaa kai man vootthaa prabh apanaa | He, within whose mind God dwells, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਨਾ ॥ poorai karam gur kaa jap japanaa | has perfect karma, and chants the Chant of the Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਰਮਿ ਰੁਨਾ ॥੯॥ sarab nirantar so prabh jaataa bahurr na jonee bharam runaa |9| One who realizes God pervading deep within all, does not wander crying in reincarnation again. ||9|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ॥ gur kaa sabad vasai man jaa kai | Pain, sorrow and doubt run away from that one, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਭਾਗੈ ॥ dookh darad bhram taa kaa bhaagai | Within whose mind the Word of the Guru’s Shabad abides. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਅਨਹਦ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਹਜ ਧੁਨਾ ॥੧੦॥ sookh sehaj aanand naam ras anahad baanee sehaj dhunaa |10| Intuitive peace, poise and bliss come from the sublime essence of the Naam; the unstruck sound current of the Guru’s Bani intuitively vibrates and resounds. ||10|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ so dhanavantaa jin prabh dhiaaeaa | He alone is wealthy, who meditates on God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ so pativantaa jin saadhasang paaeaa | He alone is honorable, who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਸੋ ਪੂਰ ਕਰੰਮਾ ਨਾ ਛਿਨਾ ॥੧੧॥ paarabraham jaa kai man vootthaa so poor karamaa naa chhinaa |11| That person, within whose mind the Supreme Lord God abides, has perfect karma, and becomes famous. ||11|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋਈ ॥ jal thal maheeal suaamee soee | The Lord and Master is pervading the water, land and sky. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਹੀਐ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥ avar na kaheeai doojaa koee | There is no other said to be so. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨਿ ਕਾਟਿਓ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਸਗਲਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ॥੧੨॥ gur giaan anjan kaattio bhram sagalaa avar na deesai ek binaa |12| The ointment of the Guru’s spiritual wisdom has eradicated all doubts; except the One Lord, I do not see any other at all. ||12|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥ aooche te aoochaa darabaaraa | The Lord’s Court is the highest of the high. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾ ॥ kehan na jaaee ant na paaraa | His limit and extent cannot be described. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਥਾਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਕਿਆ ਮਿਨਾ ॥੧੩॥ gahir ganbheer athaah suaamee atul na jaaee kiaa minaa |13| The Lord and Master is profoundly deep, unfathomable and unweighable; how can He be measured? ||13|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੀਆ ॥ too karataa teraa sabh keea | You are the Creator; all is created by You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੁਝੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਬੀਆ ॥ tujh bin avar na koee beea | Without You, there is no other at all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਤੁਮ ਤਨਾ ॥੧੪॥ aad madh ant prabh toohai sagal pasaaraa tum tanaa |14| You alone, God, are in the beginning, the middle and the end. You are the root of the entire expanse. ||14|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਮਦੂਤੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ jamadoot tis nikatt na aavai | The Messenger of Death does not even approach that person - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ saadhasang har keeratan gaavai | who sings the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਾ ॥੧੫॥ sagal manorath taa ke pooran jo sravanee prabh kaa jas sunaa |15| All desires are fulfilled, for one who listens with his ears to the Praises of God. ||15|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ too sabhanaa kaa sabh ko teraa | You belong to all, and all belong to You, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥ saache saahib gahir ganbheeraa | O my true, deep and profound Lord and Master. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
