ਦੋਜਕਿ ਪਾਏ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੈ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੰਗੈ ਬਾਣੀਆ ॥੨॥ dojak paae sirajanahaarai lekhaa mangai baaneea |2| They are consigned to hell by the Creator Lord, and the Accountant calls them to give their account. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭਈਆ ਬੇਬਾ ॥ sang na koee bheea bebaa | No brothers or sisters can go with them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਲੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਞੇਸਾ ॥ maal joban dhan chhodd vayesaa | Leaving behind their property, youth and wealth, they march off. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਣ ਕਰੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਲ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਿਉ ਘਾਣੀਆ ॥੩॥ karan kareem na jaato karataa til peerre jiau ghaaneea |3| They do not know the kind and compassionate Lord; they shall be crushed like sesame seeds in the oil-press. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖੁਸਿ ਖੁਸਿ ਲੈਦਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ॥ khus khus laidaa vasat paraaee | You happily, cheerfully steal the possessions of others, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥ vekhai sune terai naal khudaaee | but the Lord God is with you, watching and listening. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਲਬਿ ਪਇਆ ਖਾਤ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅਗਲੀ ਗਲ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥੪॥ duneea lab peaa khaat andar agalee gal na jaaneea |4| Through worldly greed, you have fallen into the pit; you know nothing of the future. ||4|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ॥ jam jam marai marai fir jamai | You shall be born and born again, and die and die again, only to be reincarnated again. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਦੇਸਿ ਲੰਮੈ ॥ bahut sajaae peaa des lamai | You shall suffer terrible punishment, on your way to the land beyond. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਅੰਧਾ ਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥੫॥ jin keetaa tisai na jaanee andhaa taa dukh sahai paraaneea |5| The mortal does not know the One who created him; he is blind, and so he shall suffer. ||5|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖਾਲਕ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਮੁਠਾ ॥ khaalak thaavahu bhulaa mutthaa | Forgetting the Creator Lord, he is ruined. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਬੁਰਾ ਰੁਠ ਤੁਠਾ ॥ duneea khel buraa rutth tutthaa | The drama of the world is bad; it brings sadness and then happiness. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਤੈ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥੬॥ sidak sabooree sant na milio vatai aapan bhaaneea |6| One who does not meet the Saint does not have faith or contentment; he wanders just as he pleases. ||6|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਉਲਾ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਆਪੇ ॥ maulaa khel kare sabh aape | The Lord Himself stages all this drama. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕਿ ਕਢੇ ਇਕਿ ਲਹਰਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥ eik kadte ik lehar viaape | Some, he lifts up, and some he throws into the waves. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਨਚਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਨਚਨਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਿਰਤ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ॥੭॥ jiau nachaae tiau tiau nachan sir sir kirat vihaaneea |7| As He makes them dance, so do they dance. Everyone lives their lives according to their past actions. ||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ mihar kare taa khasam dhiaaee | When the Lord and Master grants His Grace, then we meditate on Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥ santaa sangat narak na paaee | In the Society of the Saints, one is not consigned to hell. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਣ ਗੀਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਵਖਾਣੀਆ ॥੮॥੨॥੮॥੧੨॥੨੦॥ amrit naam daan naanak kau gun geetaa nit vakhaaneea |8|2|8|12|20| Please bless Nanak with the gift of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord; he continually sings the songs of Your Glories. ||8||2||8||12||20|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ik oankaar satigur prasaad | One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ saachaa sach soee avar na koee | The True Lord is True; there is no other at all. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥ jin sirajee tin hee fun goee | He who created, shall in the end destroy. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਰਹਣਾ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਕਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥ jiau bhaavai tiau raakhahu rahanaa tum siau kiaa mukaraaee he |1| As it pleases You, so You keep me, and so I remain; what excuse could I offer to You? ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਖਪਾਏ ॥ aap upaae aap khapaae | You Yourself create, and You Yourself destroy. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਏ ॥ aape sir sir dhandhai laae | You yourself link each and every person to their tasks. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥ aape veechaaree gunakaaree aape maarag laaee he |2| You contemplate Yourself, You Yourself make us worthy; You Yourself place us on the Path. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਬੀਨਾ ॥ aape daanaa aape beenaa | You Yourself are all-wise, You Yourself are all-knowing. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਪਤੀਨਾ ॥ aape aap upaae pateenaa | You Yourself created the Universe, and You are pleased. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥ aape paun paanee baisantar aape mel milaaee he |3| You Yourself are the air, water and fire; You Yourself unite in Union. ||3|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਸਸਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੋ ਪੂਰਾ ॥ aape sas sooraa pooro pooraa | You Yourself are the moon, the sun, the most perfect of the perfect. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੂਰਾ ॥ aape giaan dhiaan gur sooraa | You Yourself are spiritual wisdom, meditation, and the Guru, the Warrior Hero. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥ kaal jaal jam johi na saakai saache siau liv laaee he |4| The Messenger of Death, and his noose of death, cannot touch one, who is lovingly focused on You, O True Lord. ||4|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ aape purakh aape hee naaree | You Yourself are the male, and You Yourself are the female. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰੀ ॥ aape paasaa aape saaree | You Yourself are the chess-board, and You Yourself are the chessman. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਪਿੜ ਬਾਧੀ ਜਗੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥ aape pirr baadhee jag khelai aape keemat paaee he |5| You Yourself staged the drama in the arena of the world, and You Yourself evaluate the players. ||5|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਭਵਰੁ ਫੁਲੁ ਫਲੁ ਤਰਵਰੁ ॥ aape bhavar ful fal taravar | You Yourself are the bumble bee, the flower, the fruit and the tree. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਥਲੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ॥ aape jal thal saagar saravar | You Yourself are the water, the desert, the ocean and the pool. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਮਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਣੀਕਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਲਖਣਾ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥ aape machh kachh karaneekar teraa roop na lakhanaa jaaee he |6| You Yourself are the great fish, the tortoise, the Cause of causes; Your form cannot be known. ||6|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰੈਣੀ ॥ aape dinas aape hee rainee | You Yourself are the day, and You Yourself are the night. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥ aap pateejai gur kee bainee | You Yourself are pleased by the Word of the Guru’s Bani. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥ aad jugaad anaahad anadin ghatt ghatt sabad rajaaee he |7| From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, the unstruck sound current resounds, night and day; in each and every heart, the Word of the Shabad, echoes Your Will. ||7|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਰਤਨੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਅਮੋਲੋ ॥ aape ratan anoop amolo | You Yourself are the jewel, incomparably beautiful and priceless. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਪਰਖੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਤੋਲੋ ॥ aape parakhe pooraa tolo | You Yourself are the Assessor, the Perfect Weigher. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
