ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥ meraa prabh veparavaahu hai naa tis til na tamaae | My God is independent and self-sufficient; he does not have even an iota of greed. - Guru Amardas Ji

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਭਜਿ ਪਉ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੫॥ naanak tis saranaaee bhaj pau aape bakhas milaae |4|5| O Nanak, run to His Sanctuary; granting His forgiveness, He merges us into Himself. ||4||5|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਕ ਜਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ॥ japio naam suk janak gur bachanee har har saran pare | Suk-deva and Janak meditated on the Naam; following the Guru’s Teachings, they sought the Sanctuary of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਦਾਲਦੁ ਭੰਜਿ ਸੁਦਾਮੇ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਭਗਤੀ ਭਾਇ ਤਰੇ ॥ daalad bhanj sudaame milio bhagatee bhaae tare | God met Sudama and removed his poverty; through loving devotional worship, he crossed over. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਰਥੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ॥੧॥ bhagat vachhal har naam kritaarath guramukh kripaa kare |1| God is the Lover of His devotees; the Lord’s Name is fufilling; God showers His Mercy on the Gurmukhs. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਧ੍ਰੂ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦੁ ਬਿਦਰੁ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਤੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dhraoo prahilaad bidar daasee sut guramukh naam tare |1| rahaau | Dhroo, Prahlaad and Bidar the slave-girl’s son, became Gurmukh, and through the Naam, crossed over. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਉਧਰੇ ॥ kalajug naam pradhaan padaarath bhagat janaa udhare | In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Naam is the supreme wealth; it saves the humble devotees. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਮਾ ਜੈਦੇਉ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਗਏ ਚਮਰੇ ॥ naamaa jaideo kabeer trilochan sabh dokh ge chamare | All the faults of Naam Dayv, Jai Dayv, Kabeer, Trilochan and Ravi Daas the leather-worker were covered. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਟਰੇ ॥੨॥ guramukh naam lage se udhare sabh kilabikh paap ttare |2| Those who become Gurmukh, and remain attached to the Naam, are saved; all their sins are washed off. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਸਭਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੋਖ ਪਰਹਰੇ ॥ jo jo naam japai aparaadhee sabh tin ke dokh parahare | Whoever chants the Naam, all his sins and mistakes are taken away. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਬੇਸੁਆ ਰਵਤ ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਉਧਰਿਓ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲੈ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਨਰਹਰੇ ॥ besuaa ravat ajaamal udhario mukh bolai naaraaein narahare | Ajaamal, who had sex with prostitites, was saved, by chanting the Name of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਉਗ੍ਰਸੈਣਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਤੋੜਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰੇ ॥੩॥ naam japat ugrasain gat paaee torr bandhan mukat kare |3| Chanting the Naam, Ugar Sain obtained salvation; his bonds were broken, and he was liberated. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਨ ਕਉ ਆਪਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ॥ jan kau aap anugrahu keea har angeekaar kare | God Himself takes pity on His humble servants, and makes them His own. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸੇਵਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿਦੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਉਧਰੇ ॥ sevak paij rakhai meraa govid saran pare udhare | My Lord of the Universe saves the honor of His servants; those who seek His Sanctuary are saved. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਉਰ ਧਰਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥ jan naanak har kirapaa dhaaree ur dhario naam hare |4|1| The Lord has showered servant Nanak with His Mercy; he has enshrined the Lord’s Name within his heart. ||4||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਪਿਆ ॥ sidh samaadh japio liv laaee saadhik mun japiaa | The Siddhas in Samaadhi meditate on Him; they are lovingly focused on Him. The seekers and the silent sages meditate on Him as well. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਸੰਤੋਖੀ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਦਿਕ ਰਵਿਆ ॥ jatee satee santokhee dhiaaeaa mukh indraadik raviaa | The celibates, the true and contented beings meditate on Him; Indra and the other gods chant His Name with their mouths. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਜਪਿਓ ਤੇ ਭਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ saran pare japio te bhaae guramukh paar peaa |1| Those who seek His Sanctuary meditate on Him; they become Gurmukh and swim across. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਧੰਨਾ ਜਟੁ ਬਾਲਮੀਕੁ ਬਟਵਾਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dhanaa jatt baalameek battavaaraa guramukh paar peaa |1| rahaau | Dhanna the farmer, and Balmik the highway robber, became Gurmukh, and crossed over. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬੇ ਜਪਿਓ ਰਿਖਿ ਬਪੁਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ sur nar gan gandharabe japio rikh bapurai har gaaeaa | Angels, men, heavenly heralds and celestial singers meditate on Him; even the humble Rishis sing of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸੰਕਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੈ ਦੇਵੀ ਜਪਿਓ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਆ ॥ sankar brahamai devee japio mukh har har naam japiaa | Shiva, Brahma and the goddess Lakhshmi, meditate, and chant with their mouths the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਨਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੨॥ har har naam jinaa man bheenaa te guramukh paar peaa |2| Those whose minds are drenched with the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, as Gurmukh, cross over. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤਿਆ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ kott kott tetees dhiaaeo har japatiaa ant na paaeaa | Millions and millions, three hundred thirty million gods meditate on Him; there is no end to those who meditate on the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ bed puraan simrit har japiaa mukh panddit har gaaeaa | The Vedas, the Puraanas and the Simritees meditate on the Lord; the Pandits, the religious scholars, sing the Lord’s Praises as well. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਲੁ ਜਿਨਾ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੩॥ naam rasaal jinaa man vasiaa te guramukh paar peaa |3| Those whose minds are filled with the Naam, the source of nectar - as Gurmukh, they cross over. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਅਨਤ ਤਰੰਗੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੈ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਕਰਿ ਸਕਿਆ ॥ anat tarangee naam jin japiaa mai ganat na kar sakiaa | Those who chant the Naam in endless waves - I cannot even count their number. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੋਬਿਦੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥ gobid kripaa kare thaae paae jo har prabh man bhaaeaa | The Lord of the Universe bestows His Mercy, and those who are pleasing to the Mind of the Lord God, find their place. - Guru Ramdas Ji
