ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਜੁ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟ ॥ mere man har bhaj sabh kilabikh kaatt | O my mind, meditate, vibrate on the Lord, and all sins will be eradicated. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੀਸੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਵਾਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har har ur dhaario gur poorai meraa sees keejai gur vaatt |1| rahaau | The Guru has enshried the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart; I place my head on the Guru’s Path. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਮੈ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਉ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥ mere har prabh kee mai baat sunaavai tis man devau katt kaatt | Whoever tells me the stories of my Lord God, I would cut my mind into slices, and dedicate it to him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਬਿਕਾਨੋ ਹਟਿ ਹਾਟ ॥੧॥ har saajan melio gur poorai gur bachan bikaano hatt haatt |1| The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord, my Friend; I have sold myself at each and every store for the Guru’s Word. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਕਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਗਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਅਧ ਕਾਟਿ ॥ makar praag daan bahu keea sareer deeo adh kaatt | One may give donations in charity at Prayaag, and cut the body in two at Benares, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਕੋ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਟਿ ਕਾਟ ॥੨॥ bin har naam ko mukat na paavai bahu kanchan deejai katt kaatt |2| but without the Lord’s Name, no one attains liberation, even though one may give away huge amounts of gold. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਓ ਮਨਿ ਉਘਰੇ ਕਪਟ ਕਪਾਟ ॥ har keerat guramat jas gaaeo man ughare kapatt kapaatt | When one follows the Guru’s Teachings, and sings the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises, the doors of the mind, held shut by deception, are thrown open again. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਫੋਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ਲਜ ਭਾਨੀ ਮਟੁਕੀ ਮਾਟ ॥੩॥ trikuttee for bharam bhau bhaagaa laj bhaanee mattukee maatt |3| The three qualities are shattered, doubt and fear run away, and the clay pot of public opinion is broken. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਲਜੁਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਲਿਲਾਟ ॥ kalajug gur pooraa tin paaeaa jin dhur masatak likhe lilaatt | They alone find the Perfect Guru in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, upon whose foreheads such pre-ordained destiny is inscribed. - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਅਵਰ ਟਹਲਾ ਝੂਠੀਆ ਨਿਤ ਕਰੈ ਜਮੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਮਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ avar ttahalaa jhoottheea nit karai jam sir maar |1| rahaau | Other services are false, and as punishment for them, the Messenger of Death bashes in one’s head. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੀਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਗਾਰ ॥ jinaa masatak leekhiaa te mile sangaar | They alone join the Sangat, the Congregation, upon whose forehead such destiny is inscribed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਾਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧॥ sansaar bhaujal taariaa har sant purakh apaar |1| They are carried across the terrifying world-ocean by the Saints of the Infinite, Primal Lord God. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਤ ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਤਜਿ ਲੋਭ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥ nit charan sevahu saadh ke taj lobh moh bikaar | Serve forever at the feet of the Holy; renounce greed, emotional attachment and corruption. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਤਜਹੁ ਦੂਜੀ ਆਸੜੀ ਰਖੁ ਆਸ ਇਕ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ॥੨॥ sabh tajahu doojee aasarree rakh aas ik nirankaar |2| Abandon all other hopes, and rest your hopes in the One Formless Lord. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਸਾਕਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧ ਅੰਧਾਰ ॥ eik bharam bhoole saakataa bin gur andh andhaar | Some are faithless cynics, deluded by doubt; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧੁਰਿ ਹੋਵਨਾ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੋ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰ ॥੩॥ dhur hovanaa su hoeaa ko na mettanahaar |3| Whatever is pre-ordained, comes to pass; no one can erase it. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਗਮ ਰੂਪੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਨਾਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ agam roop gobind kaa anik naam apaar | The beauty of the Lord of the Universe is profound and unfathomable; the Names of the Infinite Lord are immunerable. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੧॥ dhan dhan te jan naanakaa jin har naamaa ur dhaar |4|1| Blessed, blessed are those humble beings, O Nanak, who enshrine the Lord’s Name in their hearts. ||4||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਹੋਵਤ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jaas japat hovat udhaar |1| rahaau | Chanting it, one is saved. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਧੰਧ ॥ jaa kai simaran mitteh dhandh | Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਬੰਧ ॥ jaa kai simaran chhootteh bandh | Meditating on Him, one’s bonds are untied. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੂਰਖ ਚਤੁਰ ॥ jaa kai simaran moorakh chatur | Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕੁਲਹ ਉਧਰ ॥੧॥ jaa kai simaran kulah udhar |1| Meditating on Him, one’s ancestors are saved. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਭਉ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੈ ॥ jaa kai simaran bhau dukh harai | Meditating on Him, fear and pain are taken away. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੈ ॥ jaa kai simaran apadaa ttarai | Meditating on Him, misfortune is avoided. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੁਚਤ ਪਾਪ ॥ jaa kai simaran muchat paap | Meditating on Him, sins are erased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥ jaa kai simaran nahee santaap |2| Meditating on Him, agony is ended. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਰਿਦ ਬਿਗਾਸ ॥ jaa kai simaran rid bigaas | Meditating on Him, the heart blossoms forth. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਵਲਾ ਦਾਸਿ ॥ jaa kai simaran kavalaa daas | Meditating on Him, Maya becomes one’s slave. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ jaa kai simaran nidh nidhaan | Meditating on Him, one is blessed with the treasures of wealth. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤਰੇ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥ jaa kai simaran tare nidaan |3| Meditating on Him, one crosses over in the end. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੀ ॥ patit paavan naam haree | The Name of the Lord is the Purifier of sinners. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਭਗਤ ਉਧਾਰੁ ਕਰੀ ॥ kott bhagat udhaar karee | It saves millions of devotees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਾ ਦੀਨੁ ਸਰਨ ॥ har daas daasaa deen saran | I am meek; I seek the Sanctuary of the slaves of the Lord’s slaves. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਥਾ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੨॥ naanak maathaa sant charan |4|2| Nanak lays his forehead on the feet of the Saints. ||4||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
