ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ hau vaar vaar jaau gur gopaal |1| rahaau | I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Guru, the Lord of the World. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਤੁਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਦਾਤੇ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੧॥ mohi niragun tum pooran daate deenaa naath deaal |1| I am unworthy; You are the Perfect Giver. You are the Merciful Master of the meek. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਜਾਗਤ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨ ਮਾਲ ॥੨॥ aootthat baitthat sovat jaagat jeea praan dhan maal |2| While standing up and sitting down, while sleeping and awake, You are my soul, my breath of life, my wealth and property. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਰਸਨ ਪਿਆਸ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੩॥੮॥੯॥ darasan piaas bahut man merai naanak daras nihaal |3|8|9| Within my mind there is such a great thirst for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. Nanak is enraptured with Your Glance of Grace. ||3||8||9|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕੋਊ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੋ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ॥ koaoo hai mero saajan meet | Is there any friend or companion of mine, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਨੀਤ ॥ har naam sunaavai neet | who will constantly share the Lord’s Name with me? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥ binasai dukh bipareet | Will he rid me of my pains and evil tendencies? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਚੀਤੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sabh arpau man tan cheet |1| rahaau | I would surrender my mind, body, consciousness and everything. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਪਨ ਕੀਤ ॥ koee viralaa aapan keet | How rare is that one whom the Lord makes His own, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਗਿ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤ ॥ sang charan kamal man seet | and whose mind is sewn into the Lord’s Lotus Feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਦੀਤ ॥੧॥ kar kirapaa har jas deet |1| Granting His Grace, the Lord blesses him with His Praise. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਭਜਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤ ॥ har bhaj janam padaarath jeet | Vibrating, meditating on the Lord, he is victorious in this precious human life, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਹੋਹਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ kott patit hohi puneet | and millions of sinners are sanctified. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਕੀਤ ॥੨॥੧॥੧੦॥੧੯॥ naanak daas bal bal keet |2|1|10|19| Slave Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to Him. ||2||1||10||19|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਰਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥ raam mere man tan naam adhaare | O Lord, Your Name is the support of my mind and body. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ khin pal reh na skau bin sevaa mai guramat naam samaare |1| rahaau | I cannot survive for a moment, even for an instant, without serving You. Following the Guru’s Teachings, I dwell upon the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ deen deaal bhe prabh tthaakur gur kai sabad savaare |1| When God, my Lord and Master, became merciful to me the meek one, I was exalted by the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਧਸੂਦਨ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਮਾਧੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥ madhasoodan jagajeevan maadho mere tthaakur agam apaare | Almighty Lord, Slayer of demons, Life of the World, my Lord and Master, inaccessible and infinite: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਇਕ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਉ ਗੁਰ ਆਗੈ ਮੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ eik binau benatee krau gur aagai mai saadhoo charan pakhaare |2| I offer this one prayer to the Guru, to bless me, that I may wash the feet of the Holy. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਹਸ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥ sehas netr netr hai prabh kau prabh eko purakh niraare | The thousands of eyes are the eyes of God; the One God, the Primal Being, remains unattached. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਹਸ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਏਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ sehas moorat eko prabh tthaakur prabh eko guramat taare |3| The One God, our Lord and Master, has thousands of forms; God alone, through the Guru’s Teachings, saves us. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਮੋਦਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ guramat naam damodar paaeaa har har naam ur dhaare | Following the Guru’s Teachings, I have been blessed with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I have enshrined within my heart the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਬਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਗਟਕ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥੪॥ har har kathaa banee at meetthee jiau goongaa gattak samaare |4| The sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, is so very sweet; like the mute, I taste its sweetness, but I cannot describe it at all. ||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਰਸਨਾ ਸਾਦ ਚਖੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਅਤਿ ਫੀਕੇ ਲੋਭ ਬਿਕਾਰੇ ॥ rasanaa saad chakhai bhaae doojai at feeke lobh bikaare | The tongue savors the bland, insipid taste of the love of duality, greed and corruption. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਦ ਚਖਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਸਭ ਅਨ ਰਸ ਸਾਦ ਬਿਸਾਰੇ ॥੫॥ jo guramukh saad chakheh raam naamaa sabh an ras saad bisaare |5| The Gurmukh tastes the flavor of the Lord’s Name, and all other tastes and flavors are forgotten. ||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਣਿ ਕਹਤਿਆ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ guramat raam naam dhan paaeaa sun kahatiaa paap nivaare | Following the Guru’s Teachings, I have obtained the wealth of the Lord’s Name; hearing it, and chanting it, sins are eradicated. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਨ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੬॥ dharam raae jam nerr na aavai mere tthaakur ke jan piaare |6| The Messenger of Death and the Righteous Judge of Dharma do not even approach the beloved servant of my Lord and Master. ||6|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਾਸ ਸਾਸ ਸਾਸ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੇ ਮੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਰੇ ॥ saas saas saas hai jete mai guramat naam samaare | With as many breaths as I have, I chant the Naam, under Guru’s Instructions. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਾਸੁ ਸਾਸੁ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੋ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਸਾਸੁ ਬਿਕਾਰੇ ॥੭॥ saas saas jaae naamai bin so birathaa saas bikaare |7| Each and every breath which escapes me without the Naam - that breath is useless and corrupt. ||7|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮੇਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ kripaa kripaa kar deen prabh saranee mo kau har jan mel piaare | Please grant Your Grace; I am meek; I seek Your Sanctuary, God. Unite me with Your beloved, humble servants. - Guru Ramdas Ji
