ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਹਾ ॥ amrit baanee satigur poore kee jis kirapaal hovai tis ridai vasehaa | The Word of the Perfect True Guru’s Bani is Ambrosial Nectar; it dwells in the heart of one who is blessed by the Guru’s Mercy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਹਾ ॥੨॥ aavan jaanaa tis kaa katteeai sadaa sadaa sukh hohaa |2| His coming and going in reincarnation is ended; forever and ever, he is at peace. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਬੁਝਈ ॥ jo tudh bhaanaa jant so tudh bujhee | He alone understands You, Lord, with whom You are pleased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਸੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਿਝਈ ॥ jo tudh bhaanaa jant su daragah sijhee | He alone is approved in the Court of the Lord, with whom You are pleased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਈ ॥ jis no teree nadar haumai tis gee | Egotism is eradicated, when You bestow Your Grace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਸੰਤੁਸਟੁ ਕਲਮਲ ਤਿਸੁ ਖਈ ॥ jis no too santusatt kalamal tis khee | Sins are erased, when You are thoroughly pleased. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਲਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸੋ ਭਈ ॥ jis kai suaamee val nirbhau so bhee | One who has the Lord Master on his side, becomes fearless. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋ ਥਿਅਈ ॥ jis no too kirapaal sachaa so thiaee | One who is blessed with Your Mercy, becomes truthful. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਇਆ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ਅਗਨਈ ॥ jis no teree meaa na pohai aganee | One who is blessed with Your Kindness, is not touched by fire. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਲਈ ॥੭॥ tis no sadaa deaal jin gur te mat lee |7| You are forever Merciful to those who are receptive to the Guru’s Teachings. ||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈ ॥ kar kirapaa kirapaal aape bakhas lai | Please grant Your Grace, O Merciful Lord; please forgive me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਇ ਪੈ ॥ sadaa sadaa japee teraa naam satigur paae pai | Forever and ever, I chant Your Name; I fall at the feet of the True Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸੁ ਦੂਖਾ ਨਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ man tan antar vas dookhaa naas hoe | Please, dwell within my mind and body, and end my sufferings. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਥ ਦੇਇ ਆਪਿ ਰਖੁ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਭਉ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ hath dee aap rakh viaapai bhau na koe | Please give me Your hand, and save me, that fear may not afflict me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਤੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਲਾਇ ॥ gun gaavaa din rain etai kam laae | May I sing Your Glorious Praises day and night; please commit me to this task. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ sant janaa kai sang haumai rog jaae | Associating with the humble Saints, the disease of egotism is eradicated. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ sarab nirantar khasam eko rav rahiaa | The One Lord and Master is all-pervading, permeating everywhere. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਲਹਿਆ ॥ gur parasaadee sach sacho sach lahiaa | By Guru’s Grace, I have truly found the Truest of the True. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਪਣੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥ deaa karahu deaal apanee sifat dehu | Please bless me with Your Kindness, O Kind Lord, and bless me with Your Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਏਹ ॥੧॥ darasan dekh nihaal naanak preet eh |1| Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, I am in ecstasy; this is what Nanak loves. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਏਕੋ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥ eko japeeai manai maeh ikas kee saranaae | Meditate on the One Lord within your mind, and enter the Sanctuary of the One Lord alone. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥ eikas siau kar piraharree doojee naahee jaae | Be in love with the One Lord; there is no other at all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥ eiko daataa mangeeai sabh kichh palai paae | Beg from the One Lord, the Great Giver, and you will be blessed with everything. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥ man tan saas giraas prabh iko ik dhiaae | In your mind and body, with each breath and morsel of food, meditate on the One and only Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ amrit naam nidhaan sach guramukh paaeaa jaae | The Gurmukh obtains the true treasure, the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ॥ vaddabhaagee te sant jan jin man vutthaa aae | Very fortunate are those humble Saints, within whose minds the Lord has come to abide. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ jal thal maheeal rav rahiaa doojaa koee naeh | He is pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; there is no other at all. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ naam dhiaaee naam ucharaa naanak khasam rajaae |2| Meditating on the Naam, and chanting the Naam, Nanak abides in the Will of his Lord and Master. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਉਣੁ ॥ jis no too rakhavaalaa maare tis kaun | One who has You as his Saving Grace - who can kill him? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਜਿਤਾ ਤਿਨੈ ਭੈਣੁ ॥ jis no too rakhavaalaa jitaa tinai bhain | One who has You as his Saving Grace conquers the three worlds. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ॥ jis no teraa ang tis mukh ujalaa | One who has You on his side - his face is radiant and bright. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਹੂੰ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ॥ jis no teraa ang su niramalee hoon niramalaa | One who has You on his side, is the purest of the Pure. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛੀਐ ॥ jis no teree nadar na lekhaa puchheeai | One who is blessed with Your Grace is not called to give his account. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਖੁਸੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਭੁੰਚੀਐ ॥ jis no teree khusee tin nau nidh bhuncheeai | One with whom You are pleased, obtains the nine treasures. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹਛੰਦਗੀ ॥ jis no too prabh val tis kiaa muhachhandagee | One who has You on his side, God - unto whom is he subservient? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਿਗੀ ॥੮॥ jis no teree mihar su teree bandigee |8| One who is blessed with Your Kind Mercy is dedicated to Your worship. ||8|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤੁਧਹੁ ਭੁਲੇ ਸਿ ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੁਕਨਿ ਹਾਵੇ ॥੧॥ tudhahu bhule si jam jam marade tin kade na chukan haave |1| Those who forget You are born only to die and be reincarnated again; their sufferings will never end. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਟਿ ਅਵਘਟਿ ਘਟ ਘਾਟ ॥ satigur simarahu aapanaa ghatt avaghatt ghatt ghaatt | Meditate in remembrance within your heart on the True Guru, whether you are on the most difficult path, on the mountain or by the river bank. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਤਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਬੰਧੈ ਵਾਟ ॥੨॥ har har naam japantiaa koe na bandhai vaatt |2| Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, no one shall block your way. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
