ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਰੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ binavant naanak prabh karee kirapaa pooraa satigur paaeaa |2| Prays Nanak, God has granted His Grace, and I have found the Perfect True Guru. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ mil raheeai prabh saadh janaa mil har keeratan suneeai raam | Meet with the holy, humble servants of God; meeting with the Lord, listen to the Kirtan of His Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾਮੋਦਰ ਮਾਧੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਨੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥ deaal prabhoo daamodar maadho ant na paaeeai guneeai raam | God is the Merciful Master, the Lord of wealth; there is no end to His Virtues. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਇਆਲ ਦੁਖ ਹਰ ਸਰਣਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਗਲ ਦੋਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣੋ ॥ deaal dukh har saran daataa sagal dokh nivaarano | The Merciful Lord is the Dispeller of pain, the Giver of Sanctuary, the Eradicator of all evil. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹ ਸੋਗ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮ ਉਧਾਰਣੋ ॥ moh sog vikaar bikharre japat naam udhaarano | Emotional attachment, sorrow, corruption and pain - chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, one is saved from these. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਿ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਭ ਰੇਣ ਥੀਵਾ ॥ sabh jeea tere prabhoo mere kar kirapaa sabh ren theevaa | All beings are Yours, O my God; bless me with Your Mercy, that I may become the dust under the feet of all men. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਇਆ ਕੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਾ ॥੩॥ binavant naanak prabh meaa keejai naam teraa jap jeevaa |3| Prays Nanak, O God, be kind to me, that I may chant Your Name, and live. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਅਪਣੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ raakh lee prabh bhagat janaa apanee charanee laae raam | God saves His humble devotees, attaching them to His feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ aatth pehar apanaa prabh simarah eko naam dhiaae raam | Twenty-four hours a day, they meditate in remembrance on their God; they meditae on the One Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਿਆਇ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਰੇ ਭਵਜਲ ਰਹੇ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ dhiaae so prabh tare bhavajal rahe aavan jaanaa | Meditating on that God, they cross over the terrifying world-ocean, and their comings and goings cease. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਗਾ ਮੀਠਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥ sadaa sukh kaliaan keeratan prabh lagaa meetthaa bhaanaa | They enjoy eternal peace and pleasure, singing the Kirtan of God’s Praises; His Will seems so sweet to them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਇਛ ਪੁੰਨੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰਿਆ ॥ sabh ichh punee aas pooree mile satigur pooriaa | All my desires are fulfilled, meeting with the Perfect True Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸੂਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥ binavant naanak prabh aap mele fir naahee dookh visooriaa |4|3| Prays Nanak, God has blended me with Himself; I shall never suffer pain or sorrow again. ||4||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ ॥ charan kamal saranaagatee anad mangal gun gaam | In the Sanctuary of His lotus feet, I sing His Glorious Praises in ecstasy and bliss. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਰਾਧੀਐ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਣ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ naanak prabh aaraadheeai bipat nivaaran raam |1| O Nanak, worship God in adoration, the Eradicator of misfortune. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਵਾਰਣੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ prabh bipat nivaarano tis bin avar na koe jeeo | God is the Eradicator of misfortune; there is none other than Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ sadaa sadaa har simareeai jal thal maheeal soe jeeo | Forever and ever, remember the Lord in meditation; He is permeating the water, the land and the sky. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ॥ jal thal maheeal poor rahiaa ik nimakh manahu na veesarai | He is permeating and pervading the water, the land and the sky; do not forget Him from your mind, even for an instant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਗੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਭਾਗੇ ਸਰਬ ਗੁਣ ਜਗਦੀਸਰੈ ॥ gur charan laage din sabhaage sarab gun jagadeesarai | Blessed was that day, when I grasped the Guru’s feet; all virtues rest in the Lord of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ kar sev sevak dinas rainee tis bhaavai so hoe jeeo | So serve Him day and night, O servant; whatever pleases Him, happens. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੁਖਹ ਦਾਤੇ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ bal jaae naanak sukhah daate paragaas man tan hoe jeeo |1| Nanak is a sacrifice to the Giver of peace; his mind and body are enlightened. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੁਖੀ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਦੁਤੀਆ ਸੋਚ ॥ har simarat man tan sukhee binasee duteea soch | Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the mind and body find peace; the thought of duality is dispelled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ਕੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸੰਕਟ ਮੋਚ ॥੧॥ naanak ttek guopaal kee govind sankatt moch |1| Nanak takes the support of the Lord of the World, the Lord of the Universe, the Destroyer of troubles. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਭੈ ਸੰਕਟ ਕਾਟੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦਇਆਲ ਜੀਉ ॥ bhai sankatt kaatte naaraaein deaal jeeo | The Merciful Lord has eradicated my fears and troubles. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਆਨੰਦ ਗਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਜੀਉ ॥ har gun aanand gaae prabh deenaa naath pratipaal jeeo | In ecstasy, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; God is the Cherisher, the Master of the meek. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਅਚੁਤ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਏਕੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ pratipaal achut purakh eko tiseh siau rang laagaa | The Cherishing Lord is imperishable, the One and only Primal Lord; I am imbued with His Love. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰ ਚਰਨ ਮਸਤਕੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥ kar charan masatak mel leene sadaa anadin jaagaa | When I placed my hands and forehead upon His Feet, He blended me with Himself; I became awake and aware forever, night and day. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਤਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ jeeo pindd grihu thaan tis kaa tan joban dhan maal jeeo | My soul, body, household and home belong to Him, along with my body, youth, wealth and property. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਦ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ sad sadaa bal jaae naanak sarab jeea pratipaal jeeo |2| Forever and ever, Nanak is a sacrifice to Him, who cherishes and nurtures all beings. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਰਸਨਾ ਉਚਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਵਖਿਆਨ ॥ rasanaa ucharai har hare gun govind vakhiaan | My tongue chants the Name of the Lord, and chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਕੜੀ ਟੇਕ ਏਕ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਰਖੈ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੧॥ naanak pakarree ttek ek paramesar rakhai nidaan |1| Nanak has grasped the sheltering support of the One Transcendent Lord, who shall save him in the end. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਖਕੋ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਲਾਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ so suaamee prabh rakhako anchal taa kai laag jeeo | He is God, our Lord and Master, our Saving Grace. Grab hold of the hem of His robe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਜੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੇਵ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥ bhaj saadhoo sang deaal dev man kee mat tiaag jeeo | Vibrate, and meditate on the Merciful Divine Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; renounce your intellectual mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
