ਗੋਂਡ ॥ gondd | Gond: - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮੋਹਿ ਲਾਗਤੀ ਤਾਲਾਬੇਲੀ ॥ mohi laagatee taalaabelee | I am restless and unhappy. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਛਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਗਾਇ ਅਕੇਲੀ ॥੧॥ bachhare bin gaae akelee |1| Without her calf, the cow is lonely. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪਾਨੀਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੀਨੁ ਤਲਫੈ ॥ paaneea bin meen talafai | Without water, the fish writhes in pain. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਐਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aise raam naamaa bin baapuro naamaa |1| rahaau | So is poor Naam Dayv without the Lord’s Name. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਗਾਇ ਕਾ ਬਾਛਾ ਛੂਟਲਾ ॥ jaise gaae kaa baachhaa chhoottalaa | Like the cow’s calf, which, when let loose, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਥਨ ਚੋਖਤਾ ਮਾਖਨੁ ਘੂਟਲਾ ॥੨॥ than chokhataa maakhan ghoottalaa |2| sucks at her udders and drinks her milk -||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਨਾਰਾਇਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ naamadeo naaraaein paaeaa | So has Naam Dayv found the Lord. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ gur bhettat alakh lakhaaeaa |3| Meeting the Guru, I have seen the Unseen Lord. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੇਤ ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ jaise bikhai het par naaree | As the man driven by sex wants another man’s wife, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਐਸੇ ਨਾਮੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੪॥ aise naame preet muraaree |4| so does Naam Dayv love the Lord. ||4|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਾਪਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਘਾਮਾ ॥ jaise taapate niramal ghaamaa | As the earth burns in the dazzling sunlight, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਤੈਸੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਪੁਰੋ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੫॥੪॥ taise raam naamaa bin baapuro naamaa |5|4| so does poor Naam Dayv burn without the Lord’s Name. ||5||4|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਮਿਟੇ ਸਭਿ ਭਰਮਾ ॥ har har karat mitte sabh bharamaa | Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, all doubts are dispelled. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈ ਊਤਮ ਧਰਮਾ ॥ har ko naam lai aootam dharamaa | Chanting the Name of the Lord is the highest religion. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਹਰੀ ॥ har har karat jaat kul haree | Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, erases social classes and ancestral pedigrees. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਕਰੀ ॥੧॥ so har andhule kee laakaree |1| The Lord is the walking stick of the blind. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਏ ਨਮਸਤੇ ਹਰਏ ਨਮਹ ॥ hare namasate hare namah | I bow to the Lord, I humbly bow to the Lord. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਨਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਮਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har har karat nahee dukh jamah |1| rahaau | Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, you will not be tormented by the Messenger of Death. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਨਾਕਸ ਹਰੇ ਪਰਾਨ ॥ har haranaakas hare paraan | The Lord took the life of Harnaakhash, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਅਜੈਮਲ ਕੀਓ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਹਿ ਥਾਨ ॥ ajaimal keeo baikunttheh thaan | and gave Ajaamal a place in heaven. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸੂਆ ਪੜਾਵਤ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਤਰੀ ॥ sooaa parraavat ganikaa taree | Teaching a parrot to speak the Lord’s Name, Ganika the prostitute was saved. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਕੀ ਪੂਤਰੀ ॥੨॥ so har nainahu kee pootaree |2| That Lord is the light of my eyes. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤ ਪੂਤਨਾ ਤਰੀ ॥ har har karat pootanaa taree | Chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Pootna was saved, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਾਲ ਘਾਤਨੀ ਕਪਟਹਿ ਭਰੀ ॥ baal ghaatanee kapatteh bharee | even though she was a deceitful child-killer. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਦ ਸੁਤ ਉਧਰੀ ॥ simaran dropad sut udharee | Contemplating the Lord, Dropadi was saved. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਗਊਤਮ ਸਤੀ ਸਿਲਾ ਨਿਸਤਰੀ ॥੩॥ gaootam satee silaa nisataree |3| Gautam’s wife, turned to stone, was saved. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਕੇਸੀ ਕੰਸ ਮਥਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ॥ kesee kans mathan jin keea | The Lord, who killed Kaysee and Kans, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਾਲੀ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ॥ jeea daan kaalee kau deea | gave the gift of life to Kali. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਾ ਐਸੋ ਹਰੀ ॥ pranavai naamaa aiso haree | Prays Naam Dayv, such is my Lord; - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਜਾਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਭੈ ਅਪਦਾ ਟਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੫॥ jaas japat bhai apadaa ttaree |4|1|5| meditating on Him, fear and suffering are dispelled. ||4||1||5|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਭੈਰਉ ਭੂਤ ਸੀਤਲਾ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ bhairau bhoot seetalaa dhaavai | One who chases after the god Bhairau, evil spirits and the goddess of smallpox, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਖਰ ਬਾਹਨੁ ਉਹੁ ਛਾਰੁ ਉਡਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ khar baahan uhu chhaar uddaavai |1| is riding on a donkey, kicking up the dust. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਹਉ ਤਉ ਏਕੁ ਰਮਈਆ ਲੈਹਉ ॥ hau tau ek rameea laihau | I take only the Name of the One Lord. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਆਨ ਦੇਵ ਬਦਲਾਵਨਿ ਦੈਹਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aan dev badalaavan daihau |1| rahaau | I have given away all other gods in exchange for Him. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਸਿਵ ਸਿਵ ਕਰਤੇ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥ siv siv karate jo nar dhiaavai | That man who chants “Shiva, Shiva”, and meditates on him, - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਰਦ ਚਢੇ ਡਉਰੂ ਢਮਕਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ barad chadte ddauroo dtamakaavai |2| is riding on a bull, shaking a tambourine. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮਹਾ ਮਾਈ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੈ ॥ mahaa maaee kee poojaa karai | One who worships the Great Goddess Maya - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਨਰ ਸੈ ਨਾਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥ nar sai naar hoe aautarai |3| will be reincarnated as a woman, and not a man. ||3|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਤੂ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੀ ਆਦਿ ਭਵਾਨੀ ॥ too kaheeat hee aad bhavaanee | You are called the Primal Goddess. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ਕਹਾ ਛਪਾਨੀ ॥੪॥ mukat kee bareea kahaa chhapaanee |4| At the time of liberation, where will you hide then? ||4|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗਹੁ ਮੀਤਾ ॥ guramat raam naam gahu meetaa | Follow the Guru’s Teachings, and hold tight to the Lord’s Name, O friend. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਣਵੈ ਨਾਮਾ ਇਉ ਕਹੈ ਗੀਤਾ ॥੫॥੨॥੬॥ pranavai naamaa iau kahai geetaa |5|2|6| Thus prays Naam Dayv, and so says the Gita as well. ||5||2||6|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਗੋਂਡ ॥ bilaaval gondd | Bilaaval Gond: - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਆਜੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਮੂਰਖ ਕੋ ਸਮਝਾਊ ਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aaj naame beetthal dekhiaa moorakh ko samajhaaoo re | rahaau | Today, Naam Dayv saw the Lord, and so I will instruct the ignorant. ||Pause|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਾਇਤ੍ਰੀ ਲੋਧੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਤੁ ਖਾਤੀ ਥੀ ॥ paandde tumaree gaaeitree lodhe kaa khet khaatee thee | O Pandit, O religious scholar, your Gayatri was grazing in the fields. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਠੇਗਾ ਟਗਰੀ ਤੋਰੀ ਲਾਂਗਤ ਲਾਂਗਤ ਜਾਤੀ ਥੀ ॥੧॥ lai kar tthegaa ttagaree toree laangat laangat jaatee thee |1| Taking a stick, the farmer broke its leg, and now it walks with a limp. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪਾਂਡੇ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਧਉਲੇ ਬਲਦ ਚੜਿਆ ਆਵਤੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਥਾ ॥ paandde tumaraa mahaadeo dhaule balad charriaa aavat dekhiaa thaa | O Pandit, I saw your great god Shiva, riding along on a white bull. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮੋਦੀ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਖਾਣਾ ਪਾਕਾ ਵਾ ਕਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਥਾ ॥੨॥ modee ke ghar khaanaa paakaa vaa kaa larrakaa maariaa thaa |2| In the merchant’s house, a banquet was prepared for him - he killed the merchant’s son. ||2|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
