ਮਿਲੁ ਮਿਲੁ ਸਖੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਲੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ਧੀਰ ॥੩॥ mil mil sakhee gun kahu mere prabh ke le satigur kee mat dheer |3| Come, and join together, O my companions; let’s sing the Glorious Praises of my God, and follow the comforting advice of the True Guru.. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਸੁਨਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੇਖਤ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ sunato karataa pekhat karataa | The Creator listens, and the Creator sees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੋ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ adrisatto karataa drisatto karataa | The Creator is unseen, and the Creator is seen. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਓਪਤਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਪਰਲਉ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ opat karataa parlau karataa | The Creator forms, and the Creator destroys. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਆਪਤ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ॥੧॥ biaapat karataa alipato karataa |1| The Creator touches, and the Creator is detached. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਕਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਬੂਝਤ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ bakato karataa boojhat karataa | The Creator is the One who speaks, and the Creator is the One who understands. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਤੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਾਤੁ ਭੀ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ aavat karataa jaat bhee karataa | The Creator comes, and the Creator also goes. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਰਗੁਨ ਕਰਤਾ ॥ niragun karataa saragun karataa | The Creator is absolute and without qualities; the Creator is related, with the most excellent qualities. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਮਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾ ॥੨॥੧॥ gur prasaad naanak samadrisattaa |2|1| By Guru’s Grace, Nanak looks upon all the same. ||2||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਫਾਕਿਓ ਮੀਨ ਕਪਿਕ ਕੀ ਨਿਆਈ ਤੂ ਉਰਝਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਕੁਸੰਭਾਇਲੇ ॥ faakio meen kapik kee niaaee too urajh rahio kusanbhaaeile | You are caught, like the fish and the monkey; you are entangled in the transitory world. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਗ ਧਾਰਹਿ ਸਾਸੁ ਲੇਖੈ ਲੈ ਤਉ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਲੇ ॥੧॥ pag dhaareh saas lekhai lai tau udhareh har gun gaaeile |1| Your foot-steps and your breaths are numbered; only by singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord will you be saved. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਸਮਝੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਆਵਾਇਲੇ ॥ man samajh chhodd aavaaeile | O mind, reform yourself, and forsake your aimless wandering. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਪਨੇ ਰਹਨ ਕਉ ਠਉਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਾਏ ਪਰ ਕੈ ਜਾਇਲੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ apane rehan kau tthaur na paaveh kaae par kai jaaeile |1| rahaau | You have found no place of rest for yourself; so why do you try to teach others? ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਮੈਗਲੁ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਰਸਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਓ ਤੂ ਲਾਗਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਕੁਟੰਬਾਇਲੇ ॥ jiau maigal indree ras prerio too laag pario kuttanbaaeile | Like the elephant, driven by sexual desire, you are attached to your family. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਪੰਖੀ ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਿਛੁਰੈ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਲੇ ॥੨॥ jiau pankhee ikatr hoe fir bichhurai thir sangat har har dhiaaeile |2| People are like birds that come together, and fly apart again; you shall become stable and steady, only when you meditate on the Lord, Har, Har, in the Company of the Holy. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੈਸੇ ਮੀਨੁ ਰਸਨ ਸਾਦਿ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਓਹੁ ਮੂਠੌ ਮੂੜ ਲੋਭਾਇਲੇ ॥ jaise meen rasan saad binasio ohu mootthau moorr lobhaaeile | Like the fish, which perishes because of its desire to taste, the fool is ruined by his greed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੂ ਹੋਆ ਪੰਚ ਵਾਸਿ ਵੈਰੀ ਕੈ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਪਰੁ ਸਰਨਾਇਲੇ ॥੩॥ too hoaa panch vaas vairee kai chhootteh par saranaaeile |3| You have fallen under the power of the five thieves; escape is only possible in the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਸਭਿ ਤੁਮੑਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤਾਇਲੇ ॥ hohu kripaal deen dukh bhanjan sabh tumare jeea jantaaeile | Be Merciful to me, O Destroyer of the pains of the meek; all beings and creatures belong to You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਵਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਾ ਮਿਲੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਇਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥ paavau daan sadaa daras pekhaa mil naanak daas dasaaeile |4|2| May I obtain the gift of always seeing the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; meeting with You, Nanak is the slave of Your slaves. ||4||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਾਟੀ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਖੀ ਨਿਵਾਜਿ ॥ maattee meh jot rakhee nivaaj | and infused His Light into the dust; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਰਤਨ ਕਉ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਭੋਜਨ ਭੋਗਾਇ ॥ baratan kau sabh kichh bhojan bhogaae | He exalted you and gave you everything to use, and food to eat and enjoy - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਜਿ ਮੂੜੇ ਕਤ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ so prabh taj moorre kat jaae |1|
- how can you forsake that God, you fool! Where else will you go? ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਲਾਗਉ ਸੇਵ ॥ paarabraham kee laagau sev | Commit yourself to the service of the Transcendent Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਝੈ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gur te sujhai niranjan dev |1| rahaau | Through the Guru, one understands the Immaculate, Divine Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਏ ਰੰਗ ਅਨਿਕ ਪਰਕਾਰ ॥ jin kee rang anik parakaar | He created plays and dramas of all sorts; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਓਪਤਿ ਪਰਲਉ ਨਿਮਖ ਮਝਾਰ ॥ opat parlau nimakh majhaar | He creates and destroys in an instant; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ jaa kee gat mit kahee na jaae | His state and condition cannot be described. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੨॥ so prabh man mere sadaa dhiaae |2| Meditate forever on that God, O my mind. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਧਨੀ ॥ aae na jaavai nihachal dhanee | The unchanging Lord does not come or go. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਨਾ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਕੇਤਕ ਗਨੀ ॥ beant gunaa taa ke ketak ganee | His Glorious Virtues are infinite; how many of them can I count? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
