ਪਉੜੀ ॥ paurree | Pauree: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਆਵੈ ॥ koee nindak hovai satiguroo kaa fir saran gur aavai | If someone slanders the True Guru, and then comes seeking the Guru’s Protection, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਰਲਾਵੈ ॥ pichhale gunah satigur bakhas le satasangat naal ralaavai | the True Guru forgives him for his past sins, and unites him with the Saints’ Congregation. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਉ ਮੀਹਿ ਵੁਠੈ ਗਲੀਆ ਨਾਲਿਆ ਟੋਭਿਆ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਮਿਲਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਵੈ ॥ jiau meehi vutthai galeea naaliaa ttobhiaa kaa jal jaae pavai vich surasaree surasaree milat pavitru paavan hoe jaavai | When the rain falls, the water in the streams, rivers and ponds flows into the Ganges; flowing into the Ganges, it is made sacred and pure. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਏਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਤੜ ਆਵੈ ॥ eeh vaddiaaee satigur niravair vich jit miliai tisanaa bhukh utarai har saant tarr aavai | Such is the glorious greatness of the True Guru, who has no vengeance; meeting with Him, thirst and hunger are quenched, and instantly, one attains celestial peace. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਕਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੋ ਮੰਨੈ ਸੁ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੧੩॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ ॥ naanak ihu acharaj dekhahu mere har sache saah kaa ji satiguroo no manai su sabhanaan bhaavai |13|1| sudh | O Nanak, behold this wonder of the Lord, my True King! ਐਸੋ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਪੇਖਨਾ ਰਹਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਪਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥ aiso ihu sansaar pekhanaa rehan na koaoo peehai re | This world is a drama; no one can remain here. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੂਧੇ ਸੂਧੇ ਰੇਗਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਨਤਰ ਕੁਧਕਾ ਦਿਵਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ soodhe soodhe reg chalahu tum natar kudhakaa diveehai re |1| rahaau | Walk the straight path; otherwise, you will be pushed around. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਰੇ ਬੂਢੇ ਤਰੁਨੇ ਭਈਆ ਸਭਹੂ ਜਮੁ ਲੈ ਜਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥ baare boodte tarune bheea sabhahoo jam lai jeehai re | The children, the young and the old, O Siblings of Destiny, will be taken away by the Messenger of Death. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਾਨਸੁ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਮੂਸਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਮੀਚੁ ਬਿਲਈਆ ਖਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ maanas bapuraa moosaa keeno meech bileea kheehai re |1| The Lord has made the poor man a mouse, and the cat of Death is eating him up. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਮਨਈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਕਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥ dhanavantaa ar niradhan manee taa kee kachhoo na kaanee re | It gives no special consideration to either the rich or the poor. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਜਾ ਪਰਜਾ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਰੈ ਐਸੋ ਕਾਲੁ ਬਡਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥ raajaa parajaa sam kar maarai aiso kaal baddaanee re |2| The king and his subjects are equally killed; such is the power of Death. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਏ ਤਿਨੑ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥ har ke sevak jo har bhaae tina kee kathaa niraaree re | Those who are pleasing to the Lord are the servants of the Lord; their story is unique and singular. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਵਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਮਰਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੰਗਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੩॥ aaveh na jaeh na kabahoo marate paarabraham sangaaree re |3| They do not come and go, and they never die; they remain with the Supreme Lord God. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਲਛਿਮੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਇਹੈ ਤਜਹੁ ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥ putr kalatr lachhimee maaeaa ihai tajahu jeea jaanee re | Know this in your soul, that by renouncing your children, spouse, wealth and property - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਿਲਿਹੈ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥ kehat kabeer sunahu re santahu milihai saarigapaanee re |4|1|

ਬਿਦਿਆ ਨ ਪਰਉ ਬਾਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਉ ॥ bidiaa na prau baad nahee jaanau | I do not read books of knowledge, and I do not understand the debates. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਥਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਬਉਰਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ har gun kathat sunat bauraano |1| I have gone insane, chanting and hearing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ਸਭ ਖਲਕ ਸੈਆਨੀ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ॥ mere baabaa mai bauraa sabh khalak saiaanee mai bauraa | O my father, I have gone insane; the whole world is sane, and I am insane. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਬਿਗਰੈ ਮਤਿ ਅਉਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ mai bigario bigarai mat aauraa |1| rahaau | I am spoiled; let no one else be spoiled like me. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਪਿ ਨ ਬਉਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੀਓ ਬਉਰਾ ॥ aap na bauraa raam keeo bauraa | I have not made myself go insane - the Lord made me go insane. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੨॥ satigur jaar geo bhram moraa |2| The True Guru has burnt away my doubt. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰੇ ਅਪਨੀ ਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ mai bigare apanee mat khoee | I am spoiled; I have lost my intellect. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਉ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥ mere bharam bhoolau mat koee |3| Let no one go astray in doubt like me. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਬਉਰਾ ਜੋ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥ so bauraa jo aap na pachhaanai | He alone is insane, who does not understand himself. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਤ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੪॥ aap pachhaanai ta ekai jaanai |4| When he understands himself, then he knows the One Lord. ||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ॥ abeh na maataa su kabahu na maataa | One who is not intoxicated with the Lord now, shall never be intoxicated. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੫॥੨॥ keh kabeer raamai rang raataa |5|2| Says Kabeer, I am imbued with the Lord’s Love. ||5||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਗ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਬਨ ਖੰਡ ਜਾਈਐ ਚੁਨਿ ਖਾਈਐ ਕੰਦਾ ॥ grihu taj ban khandd jaaeeai chun khaaeeai kandaa | Abandoning his household, he may go to the forest, and live by eating roots; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਜਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਪਾਪੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਦਾ ॥੧॥ ajahu bikaar na chhoddee paapee man mandaa |1| but even so, his sinful, evil mind does not renounce corruption. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਉ ਛੂਟਉ ਕੈਸੇ ਤਰਉ ਭਵਜਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ kiau chhoottau kaise trau bhavajal nidh bhaaree | How can anyone be saved? How can anyone cross over the terrifying world-ocean? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ਜਨੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ raakh raakh mere beetthulaa jan saran tumaaree |1| rahaau | Save me, save me, O my Lord! Your humble servant seeks Your Sanctuary. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੀ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਤਜੀਅ ਨਹ ਜਾਈ ॥ bikhai bikhai kee baasanaa tajeea neh jaaee | I cannot escape my desire for sin and corruption. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਲਪਟਾਈ ॥੨॥ anik jatan kar raakheeai fir fir lapattaaee |2| I make all sorts of efforts to hold back from this desire, but it clings to me, again and again. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
