ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਥਹੁ ਕਰਮਹੀਣ ਲੈ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੮॥ guramukh sevak bhaae har dhan milai tithahu karamaheen lai na sakeh hor thai des disantar har dhan naeh |8| Through loving service, the Gurmukhs receive the wealth of the Naam, but the unfortunate ones cannot receive it. This wealth is not found anywhere else, in this country or in any other. ||8|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਸਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ guramukh sansaa mool na hovee chintaa vichahu jaae | The Gurmukh does not have an iota of skepticism or doubt; worries depart from within him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ jo kichh hoe su sahaje hoe kahanaa kichhoo na jaae | Whatever he does, he does with grace and poise. Nothing else can be said about him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣੇ ਜਿ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਪੰਨੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ naanak tin kaa aakhiaa aap sune ji leian panai paae |1| O Nanak, the Lord Himself hears the speech of those whom He makes His own. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਕਾਲੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਉ ॥ kaal maar manasaa maneh samaanee antar niramal naau | He conquers death, and subdues the desires of his mind; the Immaculate Name abides deep within him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪਿਆਉ ॥ anadin jaagai kade na sovai sahaje amrit piaau | Night and day, he remains awake and aware; he never sleeps, and he intuitively drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮੀਠਾ ਬੋਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥ meetthaa bole amrit baanee anadin har gun gaau | His speech is sweet, and his words are nectar; night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਦੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥ nij ghar vaasaa sadaa sohade naanak tin miliaa sukh paau |2| He dwells in the home of his own self, and appears beautiful forever; meeting him, Nanak finds peace. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਉੜੀ ॥ paurree | Pauree: - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਤਨ ਜਵੇਹਰੀ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਦੇਵਾਇਆ ॥ har dhan ratan javeharee so gur har dhan har paasahu devaaeaa | The wealth of the Lord is a jewel, a gem; the Guru has caused the Lord to grant that wealth of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਿਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਹੁ ਮੰਗਿ ਲਏ ਅਕੈ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਹੁ ਦੇਵਾਏ ਏਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜੋਰਿ ਕੀਤੈ ਕਿਸੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਵੰਡਾਇਆ ॥ je kisai kihu dis aavai taa koee kihu mang le akai koee kihu devaae ehu har dhan jor keetai kisai naal na jaae vanddaaeaa | If someone sees something, he may ask for it; or, someone may cause it to be given to him. But no one can take a share of this wealth of the Lord by force. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਧਾ ਲਾਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਵੰਡ ਹਥਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਤੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ jis no satigur naal har saradhaa laae tis har dhan kee vandd hath aavai jis no karatai dhur likh paaeaa | He alone obtains a share of the wealth of the Lord, who is blessed by the Creator with faith and devotion to the True Guru, according to his pre-ordained destiny. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਇਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਰੀਕੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਖਤੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੈ ਸੀਵ ਬੰਨੈ ਰੋਲੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਧਨ ਕੀ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਮੁਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਾਲਾ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥ eis har dhan kaa koee sareek naahee kisai kaa khat naahee kisai kai seev banai rol naahee je ko har dhan kee bakheelee kare tis kaa muhu har chahu kunddaa vich kaalaa karaaeaa | No one is a share-holder in this wealth of the Lord, and no one owns any of it. It has no boundaries or borders to be disputed. If anyone speaks ill of the wealth of the Lord, his face will be blackened in the four directions. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਿਤੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਕਿਸੈ ਜੋਰੁ ਬਖੀਲੀ ਨ ਚਲਈ ਦਿਹੁ ਦਿਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥੯॥ har ke dite naal kisai jor bakheelee na chalee dihu dihu nit nit charrai savaaeaa |9| No one’s power or slander can prevail against the gifts of the Lord; day by day they continually, continuously increase. ||9|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਜਗਤੁ ਜਲੰਦਾ ਰਖਿ ਲੈ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ jagat jalandaa rakh lai aapanee kirapaa dhaar | The world is going up in flames - shower it with Your Mercy, and save it! - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਤੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਉਬਰੈ ਤਿਤੈ ਲੈਹੁ ਉਬਾਰਿ ॥ jit duaarai ubarai titai laihu ubaar | Save it, and deliver it, by whatever method it takes. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵੇਖਾਲਿਆ ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ satigur sukh vekhaaliaa sachaa sabad beechaar | The True Guru has shown the way to peace, contemplating the True Word of the Shabad. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੁਝਈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਖਸਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ naanak avar na sujhee har bin bakhasanahaar |1| Nanak knows no other than the Lord, the Forgiving Lord. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਣੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਲਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ haumai maaeaa mohanee doojai lagai jaae | Through egotism, fascination with Maya has trapped them in duality. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾ ਇਹ ਮਾਰੀ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨਾ ਇਹ ਹਟਿ ਵਿਕਾਇ ॥ naa ih maaree na marai naa ih hatt vikaae | It cannot be killed, it does not die, and it cannot be sold in a store. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਰਜਾਲੀਐ ਤਾ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ gur kai sabad parajaaleeai taa ih vichahu jaae | Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, it is burnt away, and then it departs from within. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਉਜਲਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥ tan man hovai ujalaa naam vasai man aae | The body and mind become pure, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell within the mind. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਣੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥ naanak maaeaa kaa maaran sabad hai guramukh paaeaa jaae |2| O Nanak, the Shabad is the killer of Maya; the Gurmukh obtains it. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤੀ ਧੁਰਹੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੁਝਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥ satigur kee vaddiaaee satigur ditee dhurahu hukam bujh neesaan | The glorious greatness of the True Guru was bestowed by the True Guru; He understood this as the Insignia, the Mark of the Primal Lord’s Will. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪੁਤੀ ਭਾਤੀਈ ਜਾਵਾਈ ਸਕੀ ਅਗਹੁ ਪਿਛਹੁ ਟੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਲਾਹਿਓਨੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ putee bhaateeee jaavaaee sakee agahu pichhahu ttol dditthaa laahion sabhanaa kaa abhimaan | He tested His sons, nephews, sons-in-law and relatives, and subdued the egotistical pride of them all. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਥੈ ਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਤਿਥੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਬਖਸਿਓਸੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਹਾਨੁ ॥ jithai ko vekhai tithai meraa satiguroo har bakhasios sabh jahaan | Wherever anyone looks, my True Guru is there; the Lord blessed Him with the whole world. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੁ ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਸਿਝੈ ਜਿ ਵੇਮੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਫਿਰੈ ਭਰਿਸਟ ਥਾਨੁ ॥ ji satigur no mil mane su halat palat sijhai ji vemukh hovai su firai bharisatt thaan | One who meets with, and believes in the True Guru, is embellished here and hereafter. Whoever turns his back on the Guru and becomes baymukh, shall wander in cursed and evil places. - Guru Ramdas Ji
