ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ bhagat vachhal har naam hai guramukh har leenaa raam | The Name of the Lord is the Lover of His devotees; the Gurmukhs attain the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਜੀਵਦੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ bin har naam na jeevade jiau jal bin meenaa raam | Without the Name of the Lord, they cannot even live, like the fish without water. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥ safal janam har paaeaa naanak prabh keenaa raam |4|1|3| Finding the Lord, my life has become fruitful; O Nanak, the Lord God has fulfilled me. ||4||1||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਜਣੁ ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ॥ har prabh sajan lorr lahu man vasai vaddabhaag | Seek out the Lord God, your only true Friend. He shall dwell in your mind, by great good fortune. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵੇਖਾਲਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੧॥ gur poorai vekhaaliaa naanak har liv laag |1| The True Guru shall reveal Him to you; O Nanak, lovingly focus yourself on the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵਣਿ ਆਈਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਝਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ meraa har prabh raavan aaeea haumai bikh jhaage raam | The soul-bride has come to ravish and enjoy her Lord God, after eradicating the poison of egotism. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramat aap mittaaeaa har har liv laage raam | Following the Guru’s Teachings, she has eliminated her self-conceit; she is lovingly attuned to her Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ antar kamal paragaasiaa gur giaanee jaage raam | Her heart-lotus deep within has blossomed forth, and through the Guru, spiritual wisdom has been awakened within her. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਪੂਰੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ jan naanak har prabh paaeaa poorai vaddabhaage raam |1| Servant Nanak has found the Lord God, by perfect, great good fortune. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਕਟਿਆ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਟਿਆਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ agiaan andheraa kattiaa jot paragattiaaee raam | The darkness of ignorance is dispelled, and the Divine Light radiantly shines forth. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥ jan naanak naam adhaar hai har naam samaaee raam |2| The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is Nanak’s only Support; he merges into the Lord’s Name. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧਨ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਪਿਆਰੈ ਰਾਵੀਆ ਜਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ dhan har prabh piaarai raaveea jaan har prabh bhaaee raam | The soul-bride is ravished and enjoyed by her Beloved Lord God, when the Lord God is pleased with her. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਸਾਈਆ ਜਿਉ ਬਿਲਕ ਮਸਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ akhee prem kasaaeea jiau bilak masaaee raam | My eyes are drawn to His Love, like the cat to the mouse. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਆਘਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur poorai har meliaa har ras aaghaaee raam | The Perfect Guru has united me with the Lord; I am satisfied by the subtle essence of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥ jan naanak naam vigasiaa har har liv laaee raam |3| Servant Nanak blossoms forth in the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he is lovingly attuned to the Lord, Har, Har. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ ham moorakh mugadh milaaeaa har kirapaa dhaaree raam | I am a fool and an idiot, but the Lord showered me with His Mercy, and united me with Himself. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ dhan dhan guroo saabaas hai jin haumai maaree raam | Blessed, blessed is the most wonderful Guru, who has conquered egotism. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨੑ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ jina vaddabhaageea vaddabhaag hai har har ur dhaaree raam | Very fortunate, of blessed destiny are those, who enshrine the Lord, Har, Har, in their hearts. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਤੂ ਨਾਮੇ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥ jan naanak naam salaeh too naame balihaaree raam |4|2|4| O servant Nanak, praise the Naam, and be a sacrifice to the Naam. ||4||2||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਮੰਗਲ ਸਾਜੁ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ mangal saaj bheaa prabh apanaa gaaeaa raam | The time of rejoicing has come; I sing of my Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਵਰੁ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਚਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ abinaasee var suniaa man upajiaa chaaeaa raam | I have heard of my Imperishable Husband Lord, and happiness fills my mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗੈ ਕਬ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਤੇ ॥ man preet laagai vaddai bhaagai kab mileeai pooran pate | My mind is in love with Him; when shall I realize my great good fortune, and meet with my Perfect Husband? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜੇ ਸਮਾਈਐ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਦੇਹੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਤੇ ॥ sahaje samaaeeai govind paaeeai dehu sakhee mohi mate | If only I could meet the Lord of the Universe, and be automatically absorbed into Him; tell me how, O my companions! - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਠਾਢੀ ਕਰਉ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਵਨ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ din rain tthaadtee krau sevaa prabh kavan jugatee paaeaa | Day and night, I stand and serve my God; how can I attain Him? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਲੈਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ binavant naanak karahu kirapaa laihu mohi larr laaeaa |1| Prays Nanak, have mercy on me, and attach me to the hem of Your robe, O Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਇਆ ਸਮਾਹੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਵਿਸਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ bheaa samaaharraa har ratan visaahaa raam | Joy has come! I have purchased the jewel of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖੋਜੀ ਖੋਜਿ ਲਧਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਪਾਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ khojee khoj ladhaa har santan paahaa raam | Searching, the seeker has found the Lord with the Saints. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਕਥਹਿ ਅਕਥ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥ mile sant piaare deaa dhaare katheh akath beechaaro | I have met the Beloved Saints, and they have blessed me with their kindness; I contemplate the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਕ ਚਿਤਿ ਇਕ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੋ ॥ eik chit ik man dhiaae suaamee laae preet piaaro | With my consciousness centered, and my mind one-pointed, I meditate on my Lord and Master, with love and affection. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨੰਤੀ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ kar jorr prabh peh kar binantee milai har jas laahaa | With my palms pressed together, I pray unto God, to bless me with the profit of the Lord’s Praise. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
