ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਪੂਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹੇ ॥ mai avar giaan na dhiaan poojaa har naam antar vas rahe | I have no other spiritual wisdom, meditation or worship; the Name of the Lord alone dwells deep within me. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਭੇਖੁ ਭਵਨੀ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ bhekh bhavanee hatth na jaanaa naanakaa sach geh rahe |1| I know nothing about religious robes, pilgrimages or stubborn fanaticism; O Nanak, I hold tight to the Truth. ||1|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਭਿੰਨੜੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਭਲੀ ਦਿਨਸ ਸੁਹਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ bhinarree rain bhalee dinas suhaae raam | The night is beautiful, drenched with dew, and the day is delightful, - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਜਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ nij ghar sootarree piram jagaae raam | when her Husband Lord wakes the sleeping soul-bride, in the home of the self. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਨਵ ਹਾਣਿ ਨਵ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥ nav haan nav dhan sabad jaagee aapane pir bhaaneea | The young bride has awakened to the Word of the Shabad; she is pleasing to her Husband Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥ taj koorr kapatt subhaau doojaa chaakaree lokaaneea | So renounce falsehood, fraud, love of duality and working for people. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠੇ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਣਿਆ ॥ mai naam har kaa haar kantthe saach sabad neesaaniaa | The Name of the Lord is my necklace, and I am anointed with the True Shabad. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ kar jorr naanak saach maagai nadar kar tudh bhaaniaa |2| With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for the gift of the True Name; please, bless me with Your Grace, through the pleasure of Your Will. ||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਾਗੁ ਸਲੋਨੜੀਏ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ jaag salonarree bolai gurabaanee raam | Awake, O bride of splendored eyes, and chant the Word of the Guru’s Bani. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਅੜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ jin sun maniarree akath kahaanee raam | Listen, and place your faith in the Unspoken Speech of the Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝਏ ॥ akath kahaanee pad nirabaanee ko viralaa guramukh boojhe | The Unspoken Speech, the state of Nirvaanaa - how rare is the Gurmukh who understands this. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਓਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਸੂਝਏ ॥ ohu sabad samaae aap gavaae tribhavan sojhee soojhe | Merging in the Word of the Shabad, self-conceit is eradicated, and the three worlds are revealed to her understanding. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥ rahai ateet aparanpar raataa saach man gun saariaa | Remaining detached, with infinity infusing, the true mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਓਹੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ ohu poor rahiaa sarab tthaaee naanakaa ur dhaariaa |3| He is fully pervading and permeating all places; Nanak has enshrined Him within his heart. ||3|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮਹਲਿ ਬੁਲਾਇੜੀਏ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਨੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ mehal bulaaeirree bhagat sanehee raam | The Lord is calling you to the Mansion of His Presence; O soul-bride, He is the Lover of His devotees. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramat man rahasee seejhas dehee raam | Following the Guru’s Teachings, your mind shall be delighted, and your body shall be fulfilled. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਰੀਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਝੈ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੁ ਪਛਾਣਏ ॥ man maar reejhai sabad seejhai trai lok naath pachhaane | Conquer and subdue your mind, and love the Word of the Shabad; reform yourself, and realize the Lord of the three worlds. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮਨੁ ਡੀਗਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਏ ॥ man ddeeg ddol na jaae kat hee aapanaa pir jaane | Her mind shall not waver or wander anywhere else, when she comes to know her Husband Lord. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਮੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਸਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਕੀਆ ਤੇਰਓ ॥ mai aadhaar teraa too khasam meraa mai taan takeea tero | You are my only Support, You are my Lord and Master. You are my strength and anchor. - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
ਸਾਚਿ ਸੂਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਨਿਬੇਰਓ ॥੪॥੨॥ saach soochaa sadaa naanak gur sabad jhagar nibero |4|2| She is forever truthful and pure, O Nanak; through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, conflicts are resolved. ||4||2|| - Guru Nanak Dev Ji

ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਜੈ ਆਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ meraa har prabh sejai aaeaa man sukh samaanaa raam | My Lord God has come to my bed, and my mind is merged with the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur tutthai har prabh paaeaa rang raleea maanaa raam | As it pleases the Guru, I have found the Lord God, and I revel and delight in His Love. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਮਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ vaddabhaageea sohaaganee har masatak maanaa raam | Very fortunate are those happy soul-brides, who have the jewel of the Naam upon their foreheads. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥ har prabh har sohaag hai naanak man bhaanaa raam |1| The Lord, the Lord God, is Nanak’s Husband Lord, pleasing to his mind. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਿੰਮਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਣੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ ninmaaniaa har maan hai har prabh har aapai raam | The Lord is the honor of the dishonored. The Lord, the Lord God is Himself by Himself. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramukh aap gavaaeaa nit har har jaapai raam | The Gurmukh eradicates self-conceit, and constantly chants the Name of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ mere har prabh bhaavai so karai har rang har raapai raam | My Lord God does whatever He pleases; the Lord imbues mortal beings with the color of His Love. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥ jan naanak sehaj milaaeaa har ras har dhraapai raam |2| Servant Nanak is easily merged into the Celestial Lord. He is satisfied with the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਾਣਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਵਣ ਵੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ maanas janam har paaeeai har raavan veraa raam | The Lord is found only through this human incarnation. This is the time to contemplate the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਣੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramukh mil sohaaganee rang hoe ghaneraa raam | As Gurmukhs, the happy soul-brides meet Him, and their love for Him is abundant. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਮਾਣਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਿਨੑ ਭਾਗੁ ਮੰਦੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ jin maanas janam na paaeaa tina bhaag manderaa raam | Those who have not attained human incarnation, are cursed by evil destiny. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥ har har har har raakh prabh naanak jan teraa raam |3| O Lord, God, Har, Har, Har, Har, save Nanak; he is Your humble servant. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਭੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur har prabh agam drirraaeaa man tan rang bheenaa raam | The Guru has implanted within me the Name of the Inaccessible Lord God; my mind and body are drenched with the Lord’s Love. - Guru Ramdas Ji
