ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤ ਅਨਿਕ ਜਨ ਤਾਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਮੁਨੀ ॥ anik bhagat anik jan taare simareh anik munee | You have saved so many devotees, so many humble servants; so many silent sages contemplate You. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਟਿਕ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਗੁਨੀ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੨੭॥ andhule ttik niradhan dhan paaeo prabh naanak anik gunee |2|2|127| The support of the blind, the wealth of the poor; Nanak has found God, of endless virtues. ||2||2||127|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮੋਹਨ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਵੈ ਹਾਰ ਕਜਰ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਭਰਨ ਕੀਨੇ ॥ mohan need na aavai haavai haar kajar basatr abharan keene | O Enticing Lord, I cannot sleep; I sigh. I am adorned with necklaces, gowns, ornaments and make-up. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ਉਡੀਨੀ ॥ auddeenee uddeenee uddeenee | I am sad, sad and depressed. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਚਰਨ ਸੀਸੁ ਧਰਿ ॥ saran suhaagan charan sees dhar | I seek the Sanctuary of the happy soul-brides; I place my head upon their feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਲਾਲਨੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ॥ laalan mohi milaavahu | Unite me with my Beloved. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਬ ਘਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ kab ghar aavai ree |1| When will He come to my home? ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਹੇਰੀ ਮਿਲਨ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਉ ਸਗਰੋ ਅਹੰ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥ sunahu saheree milan baat khau sagaro ahan mittaavahu tau ghar hee laalan paavahu | Listen, my companions: tell me how to meet Him. Eradicate all egotism, and then you shall find your Beloved Lord within the home of your heart. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਬ ਰਸ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥ tab ras mangal gun gaavahu | Then, in delight, you shall sing the songs of joy and praise. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਨਦ ਰੂਪ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ॥ aanad roop dhiaavahu | Meditate on the Lord, the embodiment of bliss. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਆਇਓ ॥ naanak duaarai aaeo | O Nanak, I came to the Lord’s Door, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਉ ਮੈ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੀ ॥੨॥ tau mai laalan paaeo ree |2| and then, I found my Beloved. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨ ਰੂਪੁ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥ mohan roop dikhaavai | The Enticing Lord has revealed His form to me, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਨੀਦ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥ ab mohi need suhaavai | and now, sleep seems sweet to me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਿਖਾ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ॥ sabh meree tikhaa bujhaanee | My thirst is totally quenched, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥ ab mai sehaj samaanee | and now, I am absorbed in celestial bliss. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੀਠੀ ਪਿਰਹਿ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥ meetthee pireh kahaanee | How sweet is the story of my Husband Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੋਹਨੁ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨੮॥ mohan laalan paaeo ree | rahaau doojaa |1|128| I have found my Beloved, Enticing Lord. ||Second Pause||1||128|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮੋਰੀ ਅਹੰ ਜਾਇ ਦਰਸਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਹੇ ॥ moree ahan jaae darasan paavat he | My ego is gone; I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਚਹੁ ਨਾਥ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਈ ਸੰਤਨਾ ॥ ਅਬ ਚਰਨ ਗਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ raachahu naath hee sahaaee santanaa | ab charan gahe |1| rahaau | I am absorbed in my Lord and Master, the help and support of the Saints. Now, I hold tight to His Feet. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਹੇ ਮਨ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਚਰਨਾਵੈ ਚਰਨਾਵੈ ਉਲਝਿਓ ਅਲਿ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਕਮਲ ਜਿਉ ॥ aahe man avar na bhaavai charanaavai charanaavai ulajhio al makarand kamal jiau | My mind longs for Him, and does not love any other. I am totally absorbed, in love with His Lotus Feet, like the bumble bee attached to the honey of the lotus flower. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨ ਰਸ ਨਹੀ ਚਾਹੈ ਏਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹੈ ॥੧॥ an ras nahee chaahai ekai har laahai |1| I do not desire any other taste; I seek only the One Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨ ਤੇ ਟੂਟੀਐ ਰਿਖ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੀਐ ॥ an te ttootteeai rikh te chhootteeai | I have broken away from the others, and I have been released from the Messenger of Death. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਘੂਟੀਐ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਉਲਟੀਐ ॥ man har ras ghootteeai sang saadhoo ulatteeai | O mind, drink in the subtle essence of the Lord; join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and turn away from the world. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਰੇ ॥ an naahee naahee re | There is no other, none other than the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਜੀਅ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ajaamal ganikaa jih simarat mukat bhe jeea jaano |1| rahaau | Remembering Him in meditation, even Ajaamal the robber and Ganikaa the prostitute were liberated; let your soul know this. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਗਜ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਿਟੀ ਛਿਨਹੂ ਮਹਿ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥ gaj kee traas mittee chhinahoo meh jab hee raam bakhaano | The elephant’s fear was taken away in an instant, as soon as he chanted the Lord’s Name. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਨਾਰਦ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਧ੍ਰੂਅ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਭਜਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਲਪਟਾਨੋ ॥੧॥ naarad kehat sunat dhraooa baarik bhajan maeh lapattaano |1| Listening to Naarad’s teachings, the child Dhroo was absorbed in deep meditation. ||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਅਚਲ ਅਮਰ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਜਗਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਹੈਰਾਨੋ ॥ achal amar nirabhai pad paaeo jagat jaeh hairaano | He obtained the immovable, eternal state of fearlessness, and all the world was amazed. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਭਗਤ ਰਛਕ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਨੋ ॥੨॥੧॥ naanak kehat bhagat rachhak har nikatt taeh tum maano |2|1| Says Nanak, the Lord is the Saving Grace and the Protector of His devotees; believe it - He is close to you. ||2||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ har ke naam binaa dukh paavai | Without the Name of the Lord, you shall only find pain. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਹਸਾ ਨਹ ਚੂਕੈ ਗੁਰੁ ਇਹੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਬਤਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ bhagat binaa sahasaa neh chookai gur ihu bhed bataavai |1| rahaau | Without devotional worship, doubt is not dispelled; the Guru has revealed this secret. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਤੀਰਥ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਕੀਏ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥ kahaa bheo teerath brat kee raam saran nahee aavai | Of what use are sacred shrines of pilgrimage, if one does not enter the Sanctuary of the Lord? - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
