ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ॥ bhagat janaa kee benatee sunee prabh aap | God Himself has heard the prayers of His humble devotees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਾਇ ਜੀਵਾਲਿਅਨੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੧॥ rog mittaae jeevaalian jaa kaa vadd parataap |1| He dispelled my disease, and rejuvenated me; His glorious radiance is so great! ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਾਕਤ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਬੋਲਤ ਬੋਲ ਅਜਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saakat geet naad dhun gaavat bolat bol ajaae |1| rahaau | Singing his songs and tunes, and chanting his useless words. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਰਸਨਾ ਅਗਹ ਅਗਹ ਗੁਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਨੈਨ ਦਰਸ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ rasanaa agah agah gun raatee nain daras rang laae | My tongue is imbued with the Praises of the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord, and my eyes are drenched with the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸਾਏ ॥੨॥ hohu kripaal deen dukh bhanjan mohi charan ridai vasaae |2| Be Merciful to me, O Destroyer of the pains of the meek, that I may enshrine Your Lotus Feet within my heart. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਹੂ ਤਲੈ ਤਲੈ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਏਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਏ ॥ sabhahoo talai talai sabh aoopar eeh drisatt drisattaae | Beneath all, and above all; this is the vision I saw. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਖੋਇ ਖੋਇ ਖੋਇ ਖੋਈ ਹਉ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥੩॥ abhimaan khoe khoe khoe khoee hau mo kau satigur mantru drirraae |3| I have destroyed, destroyed, destroyed my pride, since the True Guru implanted His Mantra within me. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਤੁਲੁ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਨਹ ਤੁਲੀਐ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਏ ॥ atul atul atul neh tuleeai bhagat vachhal kirapaae | Immeasurable, immeasurable, immeasurable is the Merciful Lord; he cannot be weighed. He is the Lover of His devotees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੧॥੮੧॥ jo jo saran pario gur naanak abhai daan sukh paae |4|1|81| Whoever enters the Sanctuary of Guru Nanak, is blessed with the gifts of fearlessness and peace. ||4||||1||81|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸੂਖ ਦੂਖ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ sookh dookh is man kee birathaa tujh hee aagai saarai |1| I describe to You my pleasure and pain, and the state of this mind. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਹਮਰੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖ ਚਰਨਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੮੨॥ jo tum karahu soee bhal hamarai pekh naanak sukh charanaarai |2|2|82| Whatever You do, I know that is good. Gazing upon Your Lotus Feet, Nanak is at peace. ||2||2||82|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮੋਹ ਮਗਨ ਪਤਿਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਐਸੇ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ moh magan patit sang praanee aise maneh bisaaran |1| rahaau | Intoxicated by attachment, in the company of sinners, the mortal has forgotten such a Lord from his mind. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਚਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਲੇ ਗ੍ਰਾਹਜੁ ਕੀਨੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਡਾਰਨ ॥ sanch bikhiaa le graahaj keenee amrit man te ddaaran | He has collected poison, and grasped it firmly. But he has cast out the Ambrosial Nectar from his mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਰਤੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਬਿਦਾਰਨ ॥੧॥ kaam krodh lobh rat nindaa sat santokh bidaaran |1| He is imbued with sexual desire, anger, greed and slander; he has abandoned truth and contentment. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਨ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਤੁਮੑ ਸਾਰਨ ॥ ein te kaadt lehu mere suaamee haar pare tuma saaran | Lift me up, and pull me out of these, O my Lord and Master. I have entered Your Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਹਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਕ ਤਾਰਨ ॥੨॥੩॥੮੩॥ naanak kee benantee prabh peh saadhasang rank taaran |2|3|83| Nanak prays to God: I am a poor beggar; carry me across, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||3||83|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥ kar kirapaa apane prabh keene naam apune kee keenee daat | In His Mercy, God has made them His own, and blessed them with the gift of His Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਤ ॥੧॥ aatth pehar gun gaavat prabh ke kaam krodh is tan te jaat |1| Twenty-four hours a day, I sing the Glorious Praises of God. Sexual desire and anger have left this body. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
