ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸ ਰੀਤਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੩੭॥ kar kirapaa mohi naam dehu naanak daras reetaa |4|7|37| Please bless me with Your Mercy, and grant me Your Name; O Nanak, I am lost without the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||4||7||37|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਲਪਟਿ ਕਪਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਿਖਿਆਦਿ ॥੧॥ lapatt kapatt grihi bedhiaa mithiaa bikhiaad |1| He is involved in deception, fraud, household affairs and corruption. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਐਸੀ ਪੇਖੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ aisee pekhee netr meh poore gur parasaad | I have seen this with my eyes, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਖ ਧਨ ਜੋਬਨਾ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ raaj milakh dhan jobanaa naamai bin baad |1| rahaau | Power, property, wealth and youth are useless, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਪਿਸਟ ਤਨ ਹੋਏ ਦੁਰਗਾਦਿ ॥੨॥ milat sang paapisatt tan hoe duragaad |2|

ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਖਿਨ ਭੰਗਨ ਦੇਹਾਦਿ ॥ firat firat maanukh bheaa khin bhangan dehaad | Wandering, wandering around, the soul is reincarnated as a human, but this body lasts only for an instant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਇਹ ਅਉਸਰ ਤੇ ਚੂਕਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਦਿ ॥੩॥ eih aausar te chookiaa bahu jon bhramaad |3| Losing this opportunity, he must wander again through countless incarnations. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥ prabh kirapaa te gur mile har har bisamaad | By God’s Grace, he meets the Guru; contemplating the Lord, Har, Har, he is wonderstruck. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਘਣੋ ਲਾਭੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤ ॥੨॥ poonjee saabat ghano laabh grihi sobhaa set |2| His investment is intact, and he earns great profits; his household is blessed with honor. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਣੁ ਮਿਟੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੋਲੇਤ ॥ nihachal aasan mittee chint naahee ddolet | His position is unmoving and eternal, his anxiety is ended, and he wavers no more. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਰਮੁ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਤ ਨੇਤ ॥੩॥ bharam bhulaavaa mitt geaa prabh pekhat net |3| His doubts and misgivings are dispelled, and he sees God everywhere. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗਭੀਰ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਇਕਾ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕੇਤ ॥ gun gabheer gun naaeikaa gun kaheeeh ket | The Virtues of our Virtuous Lord and Master are so profound; how many of His Glorious Virtues should I speak? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰੇਤ ॥੪॥੯॥੩੯॥ naanak paaeaa saadhasang har har amret |4|9|39| Nanak has obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Company of the Holy. ||4||9||39|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮਿਟੇ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ milat sang sabh bhram mitte gat bhee hamaaree |1| Joining their congregation, all doubts are dispelled, and I am emancipated. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਆ ਦਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ jaa din bhette saadh mohi uaa din balihaaree | That day, when I meet with the Holy - I am a sacrifice to that day. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ tan man apano jeearaa fir fir hau vaaree |1| rahaau | Again and again, I sacrifice my body, mind and soul to them. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਏਤ ਛਡਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੇ ਇਤਨੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾਰੀ ॥ et chhaddaaee mohi te itanee drirrataaree | They have helped me renounce this ego, and implant this humility within myself. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਅਪਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ sagal ren ihu man bheaa binasee apadhaaree |2| This mind has become the dust of all men’s feet, and my self-conceit has been dispelled. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿੰਦ ਚਿੰਦ ਪਰ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਏ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਰੀ ॥ nind chind par dookhanaa e khin meh jaaree | In an instant, I burnt away the ideas of slander and ill-will towards others. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਪੇਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ deaa meaa ar nikatt pekh naahee dooraaree |3| I see close at hand, the Lord of mercy and compassion; He is not far away at all. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਅਬ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥ tan man seetal bhe ab mukate sansaaree | My body and mind are cooled and soothed, and now, I am liberated from the world. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੦॥ heet cheet sabh praan dhan naanak darasaaree |4|10|40| Love, consciousness, the breath of life, wealth and everything, O Nanak, are in the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. ||4||10||40|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
