ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੇ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਕੀਓ ॥੧॥ naanak se dar sobhaavante jo prabh apunai keeo |1| O Nanak, they alone look beautiful in the Court of the Lord, whom the Lord has made His Own. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਚਿਤ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਸਖੀਏ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਛਾਇਆ ॥ harichandauree chit bhram sakhee mrig trisanaa drum chhaaeaa | Maya is a mirage, which deludes the mind, O my companion, like the scent-crazed deer, or the transitory shade of a tree. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਚੰਚਲਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਤੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਜਾਵਤ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ chanchal sang na chaalatee sakhee ant taj jaavat maaeaa | Maya is fickle, and does not go with you, O my companion; in the end, it will leave you. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਰਸਿ ਭੋਗਣ ਅਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੇ ਇਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ras bhogan at roop ras maate in sang sookh na paaeaa | He may enjoy pleasures and sensual delights with supremely beautiful women, but no one finds peace in this way. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧੰਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਸਖੀਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੨॥ dhan dhan har saadh jan sakhee naanak jinee naam dhiaaeaa |2| Blessed, blessed are the humble, Holy Saints of the Lord, O my companion. O Nanak, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾਇ ਬਸਹੁ ਵਡਭਾਗਣੀ ਸਖੀਏ ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਈਐ ॥ jaae basahu vaddabhaaganee sakhee santaa sang samaaeeai | Go, O my very fortunate companion: dwell in the Company of the Saints, and merge with the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਹ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਰੋਗੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈਐ ॥ teh dookh na bhookh na rog biaapai charan kamal liv laaeeai | There, neither pain nor hunger nor disease will afflict you; enshrine love for the Lord’s Lotus Feet. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਹ ਜਨਮ ਨ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ teh janam na maran na aavan jaanaa nihachal saranee paaeeai | There is no birth or death there, no coming or going in reincarnation, when you enter the Sanctuary of the Eternal Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਛੋਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੩॥ prem bichhohu na mohu biaapai naanak har ek dhiaaeeai |3| Love does not end, and attachment does not grip you, O Nanak, when you meditate on the One Lord. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਤੜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ drisatt dhaar man bedhiaa piaare ratarre sehaj subhaae | Bestowing His Glance of Grace, my Beloved has pierced my mind, and I am intuitively attuned to His Love. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਅਨਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥ sej suhaavee sang mil preetam anad mangal gun gaae | My bed is embellished, meeting with my Beloved; in ecstasy and bliss, I sing His Glorious Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥ sakhee sahelee raam rang raatee man tan ichh pujaae | O my friends and companions, I am imbued with the Lord’s Love; the desires of my mind and body are satisfied. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਅਚਰਜ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਏ ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥ naanak acharaj acharaj siau miliaa kahanaa kachhoo na jaae |4|2|5| O Nanak, the wonder-struck soul blends with the Wonderful Lord; this state cannot be described. ||4||2||5|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਸਗਲੋ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥ ek roop sagalo paasaaraa | The entire Universe is the form of the One Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਬਨਜੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ aape banaj aap biauhaaraa |1| He Himself is the trade, and He Himself is the trader. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਐਸੋ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬਿਰਲੋ ਈ ਪਾਏ ॥ aiso giaan biralo ee paae | How rare is that one who is blessed with such spiritual wisdom. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਤ ਜਤ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਤ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jat jat jaaeeai tat drisattaae |1| rahaau | Wherever I go, there I see Him. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਇਕ ਰੰਗਾ ॥ anik rang niragun ik rangaa | He manifests many forms, while still unmanifest and absolute, and yet He has One Form. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਤਰੰਗਾ ॥੨॥ aape jal aap hee tarangaa |2| He Himself is the water, and He Himself is the waves. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਆਪਹਿ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ aap hee mandar aapeh sevaa | He Himself is the temple, and He Himself is selfless service. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਾਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੩॥ aap hee poojaaree aap hee devaa |3| He Himself is the worshipper, and He Himself is the idol. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਹਿ ਜੋਗ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥ aapeh jog aap hee jugataa | He Himself is the Yoga; He Himself is the Way. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥ naanak ke prabh sad hee mukataa |4|1|6| Nanak’s God is forever liberated. ||4||1||6|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਵਨ ਆਪਿ ਸਧਰਨਾ ॥ aap upaavan aap sadharanaa | He Himself creates, and He Himself supports. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਦੋਸੁ ਨ ਲੈਨਾ ॥੧॥ aap karaavan dos na lainaa |1| He Himself causes all to act; He takes no blame Himself. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਨ ਬਚਨੁ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ॥ aapan bachan aap hee karanaa | He Himself is the teaching, and He Himself is the teacher. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਨ ਬਿਭਉ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ aapan bibhau aap hee jaranaa |1| rahaau | He Himself is the splendor, and He Himself is the experiencer of it. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਸਟਿ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਬੁਲਨਾ ॥ aap hee masatt aap hee bulanaa | He Himself is silent, and He Himself is the speaker. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਛਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਛਲਨਾ ॥੨॥ aap hee achhal na jaaee chhalanaa |2| He Himself is undeceivable; He cannot be deceived. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਆਪਿ ਪਰਗਟਨਾ ॥ aap hee gupat aap paragattanaa | He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is manifest. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਪਿ ਅਲਿਪਨਾ ॥੩॥ aap hee ghatt ghatt aap alipanaa |3| He Himself is in each and every heart; He Himself is unattached. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪੇ ਅਵਿਗਤੁ ਆਪ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਚਨਾ ॥ aape avigat aap sang rachanaa | He Himself is absolute, and He Himself is with the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ aisaa gur vaddabhaagee paaeaa |1| such a Guru is found by great good fortune. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
