ਹਰਿ ਭਰਿਪੁਰੇ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ ਜਲਿ ਥਲੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ਨਿਤ ਗਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har bharipure rahiaa | jal thale raam naam | nit gaaeeai har dookh bisaarano |1| rahaau | The Lord is totally permeating and pervading everywhere; The Name of the Lord is pervading the water and the land. So sing continuously of the Lord, the Dispeller of pain. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਹੈ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ har keea hai safal janam hamaaraa | The Lord has made my life fruitful and rewarding. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਸਾਰਨਹਾਰਾ ॥ har japiaa har dookh bisaaranahaaraa | I meditate on the Lord, the Dispeller of pain. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥ gur bhettiaa hai mukat daataa | I have met the Guru, the Giver of liberation. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਜਾਤਾ ॥ har keeee hamaaree safal jaataa | The Lord has made my life’s journey fruitful and rewarding. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤੀ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥੧॥ mil sangatee gun gaavano |1| Joining the Sangat, the Holy Congregation, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ॥ man raam naam kar aasaa | O mortal, place your hopes in the Name of the Lord, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥ bhaau doojaa binas binaasaa | and your love of duality shall simply vanish. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਿਚਿ ਆਸਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ॥ vich aasaa hoe niraasee | One who, in hope, remains unattached to hope, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸੀ ॥ so jan miliaa har paasee | such a humble being meets with his Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਨੋ ॥ koee raam naam gun gaavano | And one who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਗਿ ਲਾਵਨੋ ॥੨॥੧॥੭॥੪॥੬॥੭॥੧੭॥ jan naanak tis pag laavano |2|1|7|4|6|7|17|

ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮੋਹੁ ॥ nadaree aavai tis siau mohu | He is attached to what he sees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤੋਹਿ ॥ kiau mileeai prabh abinaasee tohi | How can I meet You, O Imperishable God? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥ kar kirapaa mohi maarag paavahu | Have Mercy upon me, and place me upon the Path; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ saadhasangat kai anchal laavahu |1| let me be attached to the hem of the robe of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਿਉ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ kiau tareeai bikhiaa sansaar | How can I cross over the poisonous world-ocean? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ satigur bohith paavai paar |1| rahaau | The True Guru is the boat to carry us across. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਵਨ ਝੁਲਾਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇਇ ॥ pavan jhulaare maaeaa dee | The wind of Maya blows and shakes us, - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਸੇਇ ॥ har ke bhagat sadaa thir see | but the Lord’s devotees remain ever-stable. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥ harakh sog te raheh niraaraa | They remain unaffected by pleasure and pain. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਖਵਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ sir aoopar aap guroo rakhavaaraa |2| The Guru Himself is the Savior above their heads. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਇਆ ਵੇੜੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਰਬ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਾ ॥ paaeaa verr maaeaa sarab bhueiangaa | Maya, the snake, holds all in her coils. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਉਮੈ ਪਚੇ ਦੀਪਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੰਗਾ ॥ haumai pache deepak dekh patangaa | They burn to death in egotism, like the moth lured by seeing the flame. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ sagal seegaar kare nahee paavai | They make all sorts of decorations, but they do not find the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ jaa hoe kripaal taa guroo milaavai |3| When the Guru becomes Merciful, He leads them to meet the Lord. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਉ ਫਿਰਉ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਇਕੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਦਸਾਇਆ ॥ hau firau udaasee mai ik ratan dasaaeaa | I wander around, sad and depressed, seeking the jewel of the One Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਨ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ niramolak heeraa milai na upaaeaa | This priceless jewel is not obtained by any efforts. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਹਿ ਲਾਲੁ ॥ har kaa mandar tis meh laal | That jewel is within the body, the Temple of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਲਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਭਈ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥੪॥ gur kholiaa parradaa dekh bhee nihaal |4| The Guru has torn away the veil of illusion, and beholding the jewel, I am delighted. ||4|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਦੁ ॥ jin chaakhiaa tis aaeaa saad | One who has tasted it, comes to know its flavor; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥ jiau goongaa man meh bisamaad | he is like the mute, whose mind is filled with wonder. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਨਦ ਰੂਪੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ aanad roop sabh nadaree aaeaa | I see the Lord, the source of bliss, everywhere. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਆਖਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੧॥ jan naanak har gun aakh samaaeaa |5|1| Servant Nanak speaks the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and merges in Him. ||5||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਰਬ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਕੀਏ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ sarab kaliaan kee guradev | The Divine Guru has blessed me with total happiness. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੇਵਕੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਲਾਇਓ ਸੇਵ ॥ sevak apanee laaeo sev | He has linked His servant to His service. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵ ॥੧॥ bighan na laagai jap alakh abhev |1| No obstacles block my path, meditating on the incomprehensible, inscrutable Lord. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਰਤਿ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਭਈ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ॥ dharat puneet bhee gun gaae | The soil has been sanctified, singing the Glories of His Praises. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਰਤੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ durat geaa har naam dhiaae |1| rahaau | The sins are eradicated, meditating on the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਂਈ ਰਵਿਆ ਆਪਿ ॥ sabhanee thaanee raviaa aap | He Himself is pervading everywhere; - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਵਡ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥ aad jugaad jaa kaa vadd parataap | from the very beginning, and throughout the ages, His Glory has been radiantly manifest. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥੨॥ gur parasaad na hoe santaap |2| By Guru’s Grace, sorrow does not touch me. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠੇ ॥ gur ke charan lage man meetthe | The Guru’s Feet seem so sweet to my mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਬਿਘਨ ਹੋਇ ਸਭ ਥਾਂਈ ਵੂਠੇ ॥ nirabighan hoe sabh thaanee vootthe | He is unobstructed, dwelling everywhere. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੂਠੇ ॥੩॥ sabh sukh paae satigur tootthe |3| I found total peace, when the Guru was pleased. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ॥ paarabraham prabh bhe rakhavaale | The Supreme Lord God has become my Savior. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਥੈ ਕਿਥੈ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ jithai kithai deeseh naale | Wherever I look, I see Him there with me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਖਸਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥੪॥੨॥ naanak daas khasam pratipaale |4|2| O Nanak, the Lord and Master protects and cherishes His slaves. ||4||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
