ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧਿ ਸਭ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਾਗ ਦੋਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਆਰੋ ॥ sabh kai madh sabh hoo te baahar raag dokh te niaaro | He is inside all, and outside of all; He is untouched by love or hate. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਧਾਰੋ ॥੩॥ naanak daas gobind saranaaee har preetam maneh sadhaaro |3| Slave Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Lord of the Universe; the Beloved Lord is the Support of the mind. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੈ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਜੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸੁ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ mai khojat khojat jee har nihachal su ghar paaeaa | I searched and searched, and found the immovable, unchanging home of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਭਿ ਅਧ੍ਰੁਵ ਡਿਠੇ ਜੀਉ ਤਾ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥ sabh adhruv dditthe jeeo taa charan kamal chit laaeaa | I have seen that everything is transitory and perishable, and so I have linked my consciousness to the Lotus Feet of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਉ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ prabh abinaasee hau tis kee daasee marai na aavai jaae | God is eternal and unchanging, and I am just His hand-maiden; He does not die, or come and go in reincarnation. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਮ ਸਭਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨਿ ਚਿੰਦੀ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥ dharam arath kaam sabh pooran man chindee ichh pujaae | He is overflowing with Dharmic faith, wealth and success; He fulfills the desires of the mind. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸ੍ਰੁਤਿ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ srut simrit gun gaaveh karate sidh saadhik mun jan dhiaaeaa | The Vedas and the Simritees sing the Praises of the Creator, while the Siddhas, seekers and silent sages meditate on Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੧॥ naanak saran kripaa nidh suaamee vaddabhaagee har har gaaeaa |4|1|11| Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master, the treasure of mercy; by great good fortune, he sings the Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||1||11|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸੂਹੈ ਵੇਸਿ ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਪਰ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਣ ਜਾਇ ॥ soohai ves dohaaganee par pir raavan jaae | In her red robes, the discarded bride goes out, seeking enjoyment with another’s husband. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਿਰੁ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਘਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਮੋਹੀ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ pir chhoddiaa ghar aapanai mohee doojai bhaae | She leaves the husband of her own home, enticed by her love of duality. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮਿਠਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਖਾਇਆ ਬਹੁ ਸਾਦਹੁ ਵਧਿਆ ਰੋਗੁ ॥ mitthaa kar kai khaaeaa bahu saadahu vadhiaa rog | She finds it sweet, and eats it up; her excessive sensuality only makes her disease worse. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੁਧੁ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਲਗਾ ਜਾਇ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ॥ sudh bhataar har chhoddiaa fir lagaa jaae vijog | She forsakes the Lord, her sublime Husband, and then later, she suffers the pain of separation from Him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਪਲਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਾਜਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ॥ guramukh hovai su palattiaa har raatee saaj seegaar | But she who becomes Gurmukh, turns away from corruption and adorns herself, attuned to the Love of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਹਜਿ ਸਚੁ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ sehaj sach pir raaviaa har naamaa ur dhaar | She enjoys her celestial Husband Lord, and enshrines the Lord’s Name within her heart. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸੋੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਆਪਿ ਮੇਲੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥ aagiaakaaree sadaa suohaagan aap melee karataar | She is humble and obedient; she is His virtuous bride forever; the Creator unites her with Himself. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੋੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ naanak pir paaeaa har saachaa sadaa suohaagan naar |1| O Nanak, she who has obtained the True Lord as her husband, is a happy soul-bride forever. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸੂਹਵੀਏ ਨਿਮਾਣੀਏ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਮੑਾਲਿ ॥ soohavee nimaanee so sahu sadaa samaal | O meek, red-robed bride, keep your Husband Lord always in your thoughts. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੁਲੁ ਭੀ ਛੁਟੀ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੨॥ naanak janam savaareh aapanaa kul bhee chhuttee naal |2| O Nanak, your life shall be embellished, and your generations shall be saved along with you. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਆਪੇ ਤਖਤੁ ਰਚਾਇਓਨੁ ਆਕਾਸ ਪਤਾਲਾ ॥ aape takhat rachaaeon aakaas pataalaa | He Himself established His throne, in the Akaashic ethers and the nether worlds. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਸਚੀ ਧਰਮਸਾਲਾ ॥ hukame dharatee saajeean sachee dharamasaalaa | By the Hukam of His Command, He created the earth, the true home of Dharma. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਖਪਾਇਦਾ ਸਚੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ aap upaae khapaaeidaa sache deen deaalaa | He Himself created and destroys; He is the True Lord, merciful to the meek. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਭਨਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਿਦਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨਿਰਾਲਾ ॥ sabhanaa rijak sanbaahidaa teraa hukam niraalaa | You give sustenance to all; how wonderful and unique is the Hukam of Your Command! - Guru Amardas Ji
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਆਪੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ aape aap varatadaa aape pratipaalaa |1| You Yourself are permeating and pervading; You Yourself are the Cherisher. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸੂਹਬ ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ॥ soohab taa sohaaganee jaa man laihi sach naau | The red-robed woman becomes a happy soul-bride, only when she accepts the True Name. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਮਨਾਇ ਲੈ ਰੂਪੁ ਚੜੀ ਤਾ ਅਗਲਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥ satigur apanaa manaae lai roop charree taa agalaa doojaa naahee thaau | Become pleasing to your True Guru, and you shall be totally beautified; otherwise, there is no place of rest. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਐਸਾ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਬਣਾਇ ਤੂ ਮੈਲਾ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਭਾਉ ॥ aisaa seegaar banaae too mailaa kade na hovee ahinis laagai bhaau | So decorate yourself with the decorations that will never stain, and love the Lord day and night. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਖਸਮੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ naanak sohaagan kaa kiaa chihan hai andar sach mukh ujalaa khasamai maeh samaae |1| O Nanak, what is the character of the happy soul-bride? Within her, is Truth; her face is bright and radiant, and she is absorbed in her Lord and Master. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਲੋਕਾ ਵੇ ਹਉ ਸੂਹਵੀ ਸੂਹਾ ਵੇਸੁ ਕਰੀ ॥ lokaa ve hau soohavee soohaa ves karee | O people: I am in red, dressed in a red robe. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਵੇਸੀ ਸਹੁ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਸ ਰਹੀ ॥ vesee sahu na paaeeai kar kar ves rahee | But my Husband Lord is not obtained by any robes; I have tried and tried, and given up wearing robes. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨੀ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਖ ਸੁਣੀ ॥ naanak tinee sahu paaeaa jinee gur kee sikh sunee | O Nanak, they alone obtain their Husband Lord, who listen to the Guru’s Teachings. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੰਤ ਮਿਲੀ ॥੨॥ jo tis bhaavai so theeai in bidh kant milee |2| Whatever pleases Him, happens. In this way, the Husband Lord is met. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
