ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਵਤ ਬੈਸਤ ਖਲਿਆ ॥ so prabh apunaa sadaa dhiaaeeai sovat baisat khaliaa | Meditate forever on your God, when you sleep and sit and stand. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਸੋਈ ॥ gun nidhaan sukh saagar suaamee jal thal maheeal soee | The Lord and Master is the treasure of virtue, the ocean of peace; He pervades the water, the land and the sky. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥ jan naanak prabh kee saranaaee tis bin avar na koee |3| Servant Nanak has entered God’s Sanctuary; there is no other than Him. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਬਨੁ ਤਾਲੁ ਬਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ meraa ghar baniaa ban taal baniaa prabh parase har raaeaa raam | My home is made, the garden and pool are made, and my Sovereign Lord God has met me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੀਤ ਸਾਜਨ ਸਰਸੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ meraa man sohiaa meet saajan sarase gun mangal har gaaeaa raam | My mind is adorned, and my friends rejoice; I sing the songs of joy, and the Glorious Praises of the Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਗਲ ਇਛਾ ਪਾਈਆ ॥ gun gaae prabhoo dhiaae saachaa sagal ichhaa paaeea | Singing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord God, all desires are fulfilled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਲਾਗੇ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਗੇ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀਆ ਵਾਧਾਈਆ ॥ gur charan laage sadaa jaage man vajeea vaadhaaeea | Those who are attached to the Guru’s Feet are always awake and aware; His Praises resound and resonate through their minds. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੁਖਹ ਗਾਮੀ ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ karee nadar suaamee sukhah gaamee halat palat savaariaa | My Lord and Master, the bringer of peace, has blessed me with His Grace; He has arranged this world, and the world hereafter for me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੪॥੭॥ binavant naanak nit naam japeeai jeeo pindd jin dhaariaa |4|4|7| Prays Nanak, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord forever; He is the Support of the body and soul. ||4||4||7|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਬੋਹਿਥੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਅਰਾਧੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਲਘਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ bohitharraa har charan araadhe mil satigur paar laghaae raam | I worship and adore the Lord’s Feet, the boat to carry me across. Meeting the True Guru, I am carried over. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਤਰੀਐ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰੀਐ ਚੂਕੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ gurasabadee tareeai bahurr na mareeai chookai aavan jaanaa | Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, I cross over, and I shall not die again; my comings and goings are ended. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਉ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥ jo kichh karai soee bhal maanau taa man sehaj samaanaa | Whatever He does, I accept as good, and my mind merges in celestial peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੂਖ ਨ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਏ ॥ dookh na bhookh na rog na biaapai sukh saagar saranee paae | Neither pain, nor hunger, nor disease afflicts me. I have found the Sanctuary of the Lord, the ocean of peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੧॥ har simar simar naanak rang raataa man kee chint mittaae |1| Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, Nanak is imbued with His Love; his mind’s anxieties are dispelled. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ sant janaa har mantru drirraaeaa har saajan vasagat keene raam | The humble Saints have implanted the Lord’s Mantra within me, and the Lord, my Best Friend, has come under my power. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਨੜਾ ਮਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਧਰਿਆ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ aapanarraa man aagai dhariaa sarabas tthaakur deene raam | I have dedicated my mind to my Lord and Master, and offered it to Him, and He has blessed me with everything. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਮਿਟੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਥਿਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ kar apunee daasee mittee udaasee har mandar thit paaee | He has made me His hand-maiden and slave; my sadness is dispelled, and in the Lord’s Temple, I have found stability. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ anad binod simarahu prabh saachaa vichhurr kabahoo na jaaee | My joy and bliss are in meditating on my True God; I shall never be separated from Him again. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾ ਵਡਭਾਗਣਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਚੀਨੑੇ ॥ saa vaddabhaagan sadaa sohaagan raam naam gun cheenae | She alone is very fortunate, and a true soul-bride, who contemplates the Glorious Vision of the Lord’s Name. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਵਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਹਾ ਰਸਿ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥ kahu naanak raveh rang raate prem mahaa ras bheene |2| Says Nanak, I am imbued with His Love, drenched in the supreme, sublime essence of His Love. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਭਏ ਨਿਤ ਸਖੀਏ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ॥ anad binod bhe nit sakhee mangal sadaa hamaarai raam | I am in continual bliss and ecstasy, O my companions; I sing the songs of joy forever. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਨੜੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ਸੋਭਾਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ aapanarrai prabh aap seegaaree sobhaavantee naare raam | God Himself has embellished her, and she has become His virtuous soul-bride. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਭਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ਗੁਣ ਅਵਗਣ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਆ ॥ sehaj subhaae bhe kirapaalaa gun avagan na beechaariaa | With natural ease, He has become Merciful to her. He does not consider her merits or demerits. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਇ ਲੀਏ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥ kantth lagaae lee jan apune raam naam ur dhaariaa | He hugs His humble servants close in His Loving Embrace; they enshrine the Lord’s Name in their hearts. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਦ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ maan moh mad sagal biaapee kar kirapaa aap nivaare | Everyone is engrossed in arrogant pride, attachment and intoxication; in His Mercy, He has freed me of them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ kahu naanak bhai saagar tariaa pooran kaaj hamaare |3| Says Nanak, I have crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, and all my affairs are perfectly resolved. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਸਖੀਹੋ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ gun gopaal gaavahu nit sakheeho sagal manorath paae raam | Continually sing the Glorious Praises of the World-Lord, O my companions; all your wishes shall be granted. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ safal janam hoaa mil saadhoo ekankaar dhiaae raam | Life becomes fruitful, meeting with the Holy Saints, and meditating on the One God, the Creator of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਪਿ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਨੇਕ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਛਾਇਆ ॥ jap ek prabhoo anek raviaa sarab manddal chhaaeaa | Chant, and meditate on the One God, who permeates and pervades the many beings of the whole Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੋ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ brahamo pasaaraa braham pasariaa sabh braham drisattee aaeaa | God created it, and God spreads through it everywhere. Everywhere I look, I see God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਏ ॥ jal thal maheeal poor pooran tis binaa nahee jaae | The Perfect Lord is perfectly pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; there is no place without Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
