ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ tere gun gaaveh sehaj samaaveh sabade mel milaae | Singing Your Glorious Praises, they merge naturally into You, O Lord; through the Shabad, they are united in Union with You. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੇਰਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥ naanak safal janam tin keraa ji satigur har maarag paae |2| O Nanak, their lives are fruitful; the True Guru places them on the Lord’s Path. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ santasangat siau mel bheaa har har naam samaae raam | Those who join the Society of the Saints are absorbed in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ gur kai sabad sad jeevan mukat bhe har kai naam liv laae raam | Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, they are forever ‘jivan mukta’ - liberated while yet alive; they are lovingly absorbed in the Name of the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਮਨੂਆ ਰਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ॥ har naam chit laae gur mel milaae manooaa rataa har naale | They center their consciousness on the Lord’s Name; through the Guru, they are united in His Union. Their minds are imbued with the Lord’s Love. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮੑਾਲੇ ॥ sukhadaataa paaeaa mohu chukaaeaa anadin naam samaale | They find the Lord, the Giver of peace, and they eradicate attachments; night and day, they contemplate the Naam. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ gurasabade raataa sahaje maataa naam man vasaae | They are imbued with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, and intoxicated with celestial peace; the Naam abides in their minds. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਘਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥ naanak tin ghar sad hee sohilaa ji satigur sev samaae |3| O Nanak, the homes of their hearts are filled with happiness, forever and always; they are absorbed in serving the True Guru. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜਗੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ bin satigur jag bharam bhulaaeaa har kaa mehal na paaeaa raam | Without the True Guru, the world is deluded by doubt; it does not obtain the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramukhe ik mel milaaeaa tin ke dookh gavaaeaa raam | As Gurmukh, some are united in the Lord’s Union, and their pains are dispelled. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥ tin ke dookh gavaaeaa jaa har man bhaaeaa sadaa gaaveh rang raate | Their pains are dispelled, when it is pleasing to the Lord’s Mind; imbued with His Love, they sing His Praises forever. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਜਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੇ ॥ har ke bhagat sadaa jan niramal jug jug sad hee jaate | The Lord’s devotees are pure and humble forever; throughout the ages, they are forever respected. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਰਿ ਜਾਪਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਦਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥ saachee bhagat kareh dar jaapeh ghar dar sachaa soee | They perform true devotional worship service, and are honored in the Lord’s Court; the True Lord is their hearth and home. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਸਚੀ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੪॥੫॥ naanak sachaa sohilaa sachee sach baanee sabade hee sukh hoee |4|4|5| O Nanak, true are their songs of joy, and true is their word; through the Word of the Shabad, they find peace. ||4||4||5|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਜੇ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਵਰੁ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ je lorreh var baalarree taa gur charanee chit laae raam | If you long for your Husband Lord, O young and innocent bride, then focus your consciousness on the Guru’s feet. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਦਾ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥ sadaa hoveh sohaaganee har jeeo marai na jaae raam | You shall be a happy soul bride of your Dear Lord forever; He does not die or leave. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥ har jeeo marai na jaae gur kai sehaj subhaae saa dhan kant piaaree | The Dear Lord does not die, and He does not leave; through the peaceful poise of the Guru, the soul bride becomes the lover of her Husband Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚਿ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥ sach sanjam sadaa hai niramal gur kai sabad seegaaree | Through truth and self-control, she is forever immaculate and pure; she is embellished with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ meraa prabh saachaa sad hee saachaa jin aape aap upaaeaa | My God is True, forever and ever; He Himself created Himself. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ naanak sadaa pir raave aapanaa jin gur charanee chit laaeaa |1| O Nanak, she who focuses her consciousness on the Guru’s feet, enjoys her Husband Lord. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਿਰੁ ਪਾਇਅੜਾ ਬਾਲੜੀਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ pir paaeiarraa baalarree anadin sahaje maatee raam | When the young, innocent bride finds her Husband Lord, she is automatically intoxicated with Him, night and day. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ guramatee man anad bheaa tith tan mail na raatee raam | Through the Word of the Guru’s Teachings, her mind becomes blissful, and her body is not tinged with filth at all. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਤਿਤੁ ਤਨਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਤੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ tit tan mail na raatee har prabh raatee meraa prabh mel milaae | Her body is not tinged with filth at all, and she is imbued with her Lord God; my God unites her in Union. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥ anadin raave har prabh apanaa vichahu aap gavaae | Night and day, she enjoys her Lord God; her egotism is banished from within. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਅਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਰਾਤੀ ॥ guramat paaeaa sehaj milaaeaa apane preetam raatee | Through the Guru’s Teachings, she easily finds and meets Him. She is imbued with her Beloved. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ॥੨॥ naanak naam milai vaddiaaee prabh raave rang raatee |2| O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, she obtains glorious greatness. She ravishes and enjoys her God; she is imbued with His Love. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ pir raave rang raatarree pir kaa mehal tin paaeaa raam | Ravishing her Husband Lord, she is imbued with His Love; she obtains the Mansion of His Presence. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੋ ਸਹੋ ਅਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥ so saho at niramal daataa jin vichahu aap gavaaeaa raam | She is utterly immaculate and pure; the Great Giver banishes self-conceit from within her. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥ vichahu mohu chukaaeaa jaa har bhaaeaa har kaaman man bhaanee | The Lord drives out attachment from within her, when it pleases Him. The soul bride becomes pleasing to the Lord’s Mind. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਕਥੇ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥ anadin gun gaavai nit saache kathe akath kahaanee | Night and day, she continually sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord; she speaks the Unspoken Speech. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ jug chaare saachaa eko varatai bin gur kinai na paaeaa | Throughout the four ages, the One True Lord is permeating and pervading; without the Guru, no one finds Him. - Guru Amardas Ji
