ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ kott madhe kinai pachhaaniaa har naamaa sach soee | Among millions, there is scarcely one who realizes the Name of the True Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੩॥ naanak naam milai vaddiaaee doojai bhaae pat khoee |3| O Nanak, through the Naam, greatness is obtained; in the love of duality, all honor is lost. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ bhagataa kai ghar kaaraj saachaa har gun sadaa vakhaane raam | In the home of the devotees, is the joy of true marriage; they chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord forever. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ bhagat khajaanaa aape deea kaal kanttak maar samaane raam | He Himself blesses them with the treasure of devotion; conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ kaal kanttak maar samaane har man bhaane naam nidhaan sach paaeaa | Conquering the thorny pain of death, they merge in the Lord; they are pleasing to the Lord’s Mind, and they obtain the true treasure of the Naam. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਦਾ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥ sadaa akhutt kade na nikhuttai har deea sehaj subhaaeaa | This treasure is inexhaustible; it will never be exhausted. The Lord automatically blesses them with it. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਊਚੇ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਊਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥ har jan aooche sad hee aooche gur kai sabad suhaaeaa | The humble servants of the Lord are exalted and elevated, forever on high; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥ naanak aape bakhas milaae jug jug sobhaa paaeaa |4|1|2| O Nanak, He Himself forgives them, and merges them with Himself; throughout the ages, they are glorified. ||4||1||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿਥੈ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥ sabad sachai sach sohilaa jithai sache kaa hoe veechaaro raam | Through the True Word of the Shabad, true happiness prevails, there where the True Lord is contemplated. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ haumai sabh kilavikh kaatte saach rakhiaa ur dhaare raam | Egotism and all sins are eradicated, when one keeps the True Lord enshrined in the heart. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ sach rakhiaa ur dhaare dutar taare fir bhavajal taran na hoee | One who keeps the True Lord enshrined in the heart, crosses over the terrible and dreadful world-ocean; he shall not have to cross over it again. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥ sachaa satigur sachee baanee jin sach vikhaaliaa soee | True is the True Guru, and True is the Word of His Bani; through it, the True Lord is seen. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ saache gun gaavai sach samaavai sach vekhai sabh soee | One who sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord merges in Truth; he beholds the True Lord everywhere. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ naanak saachaa saahib saachee naaee sach nisataaraa hoee |1| O Nanak, True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name; through Truth, comes emancipation. ||1|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ saachai satigur saach bujhaaeaa pat raakhai sach soee raam | The True Guru reveals the True Lord; the True Lord preserves our honor. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ sachaa bhojan bhaau sachaa hai sachai naam sukh hoee raam | The true food is love for the True Lord; through the True Name, peace is obtained. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਾਸਾ ॥ saachai naam sukh hoee marai na koee garabh na joonee vaasaa | Through the True Name, the mortal finds peace; he shall never die, and never again enter the womb of reincarnation. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥ jotee jot milaaee sach samaaee sach naae paragaasaa | His light blends with the Light, and he merges into the True Lord; he is illuminated and enlightened with the True Name. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ॥ jinee sach jaataa se sache hoe anadin sach dhiaaein | Those who know the Truth are True; night and day, they meditate on Truth. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾ ਵੀਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ॥੨॥ naanak sach naam jin hiradai vasiaa naa veechhurr dukh paaein |2| O Nanak, those whose hearts are filled with the True Name, never suffer the pains of separation. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ sachee baanee sache gun gaaveh tith ghar sohilaa hoee raam | In that home, and in that heart, where the True Bani of the Lord’s True Praises are sung, the songs of joy resound. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ niramal gun saache tan man saachaa vich saachaa purakh prabh soee raam | Through the immaculate virtues of the True Lord, the body and mind are rendered True, and God, the True Primal Being, dwells within. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਜੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ sabh sach varatai sacho bolai jo sach karai su hoee | Such a person practices only Truth, and speaks only Truth; whatever the True Lord does, that alone comes to pass. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥ jeh dekhaa teh sach pasariaa avar na doojaa koee | Wherever I look, there I see the True Lord pervading; there is no other at all. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥ sache upajai sach samaavai mar janamai doojaa hoee | From the True Lord, we emanate, and into the True Lord, we shall merge; death and birth come from duality. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥ naanak sabh kichh aape karataa aap karaavai soee |3| O Nanak, He Himself does everything; He Himself is the Cause. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ sache bhagat soheh daravaare sacho sach vakhaane raam | The true devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar of the Lord’s Court. They speak Truth, and only Truth. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੋ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥ ghatt antare saachee baanee saacho aap pachhaane raam | Deep within the nucleus of their heart, is the True Word of the Lord’s Bani. Through the Truth, they understand themselves. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ aap pachhaaneh taa sach jaaneh saache sojhee hoee | They understand themselves, and so know the True Lord, through their true intuition. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ sachaa sabad sachee hai sobhaa saache hee sukh hoee | True is the Shabad, and True is its Glory; peace comes only from Truth. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ saach rate bhagat ik rangee doojaa rang na koee | Imbued with Truth, the devotees love the One Lord; they do not love any other. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥ naanak jis kau masatak likhiaa tis sach paraapat hoee |4|2|3| O Nanak, he alone obtains the True Lord, who has such pre-ordained destiny written upon his forehead. ||4||2||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਜੇ ਭਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥ jug chaare dhan je bhavai bin satigur sohaag na hoee raam | The soul-bride may wander throughout the four ages, but still, without the True Guru, she will not find her True Husband Lord. - Guru Amardas Ji
