ਜਿਉ ਧਰਤੀ ਸੋਭ ਕਰੇ ਜਲੁ ਬਰਸੈ ਤਿਉ ਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੧੬॥ jiau dharatee sobh kare jal barasai tiau sikh gur mil bigasaaee |16| Just as the earth looks beautiful when the rain falls, so does the Sikh blossom forth meeting the Guru. ||16|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਵਰਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੭॥ sevak kaa hoe sevak varataa kar kar binau bulaaee |17| I long to be the servant of Your servants; I call upon You reverently in prayer. ||17|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੮॥ naanak kee benantee har peh gur mil gur sukh paaee |18| Nanak offers this prayer to the Lord, that he may meet the Guru, and find peace. ||18|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਚੁ ਦੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧੯॥ too aape gur chelaa hai aape gur vich de tujheh dhiaaee |19| You Yourself are the Guru, and You Yourself are the chaylaa, the disciple; through the Guru, I meditate on You. ||19|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈ ॥੨੦॥ jo tudh seveh so toohai hoveh tudh sevak paij rakhaaee |20| Those who serve You, become You. You preserve the honor of Your servants. ||20|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਭੰਡਾਰ ਭਰੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਵਾਈ ॥੨੧॥ bhanddaar bhare bhagatee har tere jis bhaavai tis devaaee |21| O Lord, Your devotional worship is a treasure over-flowing. One who loves You, is blessed with it. ||21|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸਭ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥੨੨॥ jis toon dehi soee jan paae hor nihafal sabh chaturaaee |22| That humble being alone receives it, unto whom You bestow it. All other clever tricks are fruitless. ||22|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾਈ ॥੨੩॥ simar simar simar gur apunaa soeaa man jaagaaee |23| Remembering, remembering, remembering my Guru in meditation, my sleeping mind is awakened. ||23|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਇਕੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵੇਚਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਰਾਈ ॥੨੪॥ eik daan mangai naanak vechaaraa har daasan daas karaaee |24| Poor Nanak begs for this one blessing, that he may become the slave of the slaves of the Lord. ||24|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਝਿੜਕੇ ਤ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਜੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਤ ਗੁਰ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੨੫॥ je gur jhirrake ta meetthaa laagai je bakhase ta gur vaddiaaee |25| Even if the Guru rebukes me, He still seems very sweet to me. And if He actually forgives me, that is the Guru’s greatness. ||25|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੬॥ guramukh boleh so thaae paae manamukh kichh thaae na paaee |26| That which Gurmukh speaks is certified and approved. Whatever the self-willed manmukh says is not accepted. ||26|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਾਲਾ ਕਕਰੁ ਵਰਫ ਵਰਸੈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੭॥ paalaa kakar varaf varasai gurasikh gur dekhan jaaee |27| Even in the cold, the frost and the snow, the GurSikh still goes out to see his Guru. ||27|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਭੁ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਦੇਖਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਖੀ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਾਈ ॥੨੮॥ sabh dinas rain dekhau gur apunaa vich akhee gur pair dharaaee |28| All day and night, I gaze upon my Guru; I install the Guru’s Feet in my eyes. ||28|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਨੇਕ ਉਪਾਵ ਕਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨੯॥ anek upaav karee gur kaaran gur bhaavai so thaae paaee |29| I make so many efforts for the sake of the Guru; only that which pleases the Guru is accepted and approved. ||29|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਈ ॥੩੦॥ rain dinas gur charan araadhee deaa karahu mere saaee |30| Night and day, I worship the Guru’s Feet in adoration; have Mercy upon me, O my Lord and Master. ||30|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੩੧॥ naanak kaa jeeo pindd guroo hai gur mil tripat aghaaee |31| The Guru is Nanak’s body and soul; meeting the Guru, he is satisfied and satiated. ||31|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤਤ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥੩੨॥੧॥ naanak kaa prabh poor rahio hai jat kat tat gosaaee |32|1| Nanak’s God is perfectly permeating and all-pervading. Here and there and everywhere, the Lord of the Universe. ||32||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਅੰਦਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਆਪਣੈ ॥ andar sachaa nehu laaeaa preetam aapanai | Deep within myself, I have enshrined true love for my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ਜਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਾਮੑਣੇ ॥੧॥ tan man hoe nihaal jaa gur dekhaa saamane |1| My body and soul are in ecstasy; I see my Guru before me. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥ mai har har naam visaahu | I have purchased the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ gur poore te paaeaa amrit agam athaahu |1| rahaau | I have obtained the Inaccessible and Unfathomable Ambrosial Nectar from the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਵੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਸੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ hau satigur vekh vigaseea har naame lagaa piaar | Gazing upon the True Guru, I blossom forth in ecstasy; I am in love with the Name of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੇਲਿਅਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥ kirapaa kar kai melian paaeaa mokh duaar |2| Through His Mercy, the Lord has united me with Himself, and I have found the Door of Salvation. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਉ ॥ satigur birahee naam kaa je milai ta tan man deo | The True Guru is the Lover of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Meeting Him, I dedicate my body and mind to Him. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਪੀਏਉ ॥੩॥ je poorab hovai likhiaa taa amrit sehaj peeo |3| And if it is so pre-ordained, then I shall automatically drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੁਤਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਉਠਦਿਆ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਲਾਉ ॥ sutiaa gur saalaaheeai utthadiaa bhee gur aalaau | Praise the Guru while you are asleep, and call on the Guru while you are up. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਹਉ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਧੋਵਾ ਪਾਉ ॥੪॥ koee aisaa guramukh je milai hau taa ke dhovaa paau |4| If only I could meet such a Gurmukh; I would wash His Feet. ||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਸਜਣੁ ਲੋੜਿ ਲਹੁ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ koee aisaa sajan lorr lahu mai preetam dee milaae | I long for such a Friend, to unite me with my Beloved. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੫॥ satigur miliai har paaeaa miliaa sehaj subhaae |5| Meeting the True Guru, I have found the Lord. He has met me, easily and effortlessly. ||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
