ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਰਵੰਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ hau tin kai balihaaranai man har gun sadaa ravan |1| rahaau | I am a sacrifice to those who chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord in their minds forever. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰੁ ਹੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਲਹੰਨਿੑ ॥ gur saravar maan sarovar hai vaddabhaagee purakh lahana | The Guru is like the Mansarovar Lake; only the very fortunate beings find Him. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੇਵਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਿਆ ਸੇ ਹੰਸੁਲੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਹੰਨਿ ॥੨॥ sevak guramukh khojiaa se hansule naam lahan |2| The Gurmukhs, the selfless servants, seek out the Guru; the swan-souls feed there on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿੑ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਗੰਨਿੑ ॥ naam dhiaaeina rang siau guramukh naam lagana | The Gurmukhs meditate on the Naam, and remain linked to the Naam. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਧੁਰਿ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਲਏਨਿੑ ॥੩॥ dhur poorab hovai likhiaa gur bhaanaa man lena |3| Whatever is pre-ordained, accept it as the Will of the Guru. ||3|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਘਰੁ ਖੋਜਿਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥ vaddabhaagee ghar khojiaa paaeaa naam nidhaan | By great good fortune, I searched my home, and found the treasure of the Naam. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਵੇਖਾਲਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੁ ॥੪॥ gur poorai vekhaaliaa prabh aatam raam pachhaan |4| The Perfect Guru has shown God to me; I have realized the Lord, the Supreme Soul. ||4|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ sabhanaa kaa prabh ek hai doojaa avar na koe | There is One God of all; there is no other at all. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫॥ gur parasaadee man vasai tith ghatt paragatt hoe |5| By Guru’s Grace, the Lord comes to abide in the mind; in the heart of such a one, He is revealed. ||5|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਸਭ ਥਾਇ ॥ sabh antarajaamee braham hai braham vasai sabh thaae | God is the Inner-knower of all hearts; God dwells in every place. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਮੰਦਾ ਕਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਖੀਐ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੬॥ mandaa kis no aakheeai sabad vekhahu liv laae |6| So who should we call evil? Behold the Word of the Shabad, and lovingly dwell upon it. ||6|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਆਖਦਾ ਜਿਚਰੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਹੁ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ buraa bhalaa tichar aakhadaa jichar hai duhu maeh | He calls others bad and good, as long as he is in duality. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕੋ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਏਕਸੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੭॥ guramukh eko bujhiaa ekas maeh samaae |7| The Gurmukh understands the One and Only Lord; He is absorbed in the One Lord. ||7|| - Guru Amardas Ji
ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵਸੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਏ ਥਾਇ ॥ sevaa saa prabh bhaavasee jo prabh paae thaae | That is selfless service, which pleases God, and which is approved by God. - Guru Amardas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੮॥੨॥੪॥੯॥ jan naanak har aaraadhiaa gur charanee chit laae |8|2|4|9| Servant Nanak worships the Lord in adoration; he focuses his consciousness on the Guru’s Feet. ||8||2||4||9|| - Guru Amardas Ji

ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਵੇਚਾਈ ॥੧॥ koee aan milaavai meraa preetam piaaraa hau tis peh aap vechaaee |1| If only someone would come, and lead me to meet my Darling Beloved; I would sell myself to him. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥ darasan har dekhan kai taaee | I long for the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kripaa kareh taa satigur meleh har har naam dhiaaee |1| rahaau | When the Lord shows Mercy unto me, then I meet the True Guru; I meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਦੁਖਿ ਭੀ ਤੁਝੈ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥ je sukh dehi ta tujheh araadhee dukh bhee tujhai dhiaaee |2| If You will bless me with happiness, then I will worship and adore You. Even in pain, I will meditate on You. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਭੁਖ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਇਤ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੂਖ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੩॥ je bhukh dehi ta it hee raajaa dukh vich sookh manaaee |3| Even if You give me hunger, I will still feel satisfied; I am joyful, even in the midst of sorrow. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਕਾਟਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਸਭੁ ਅਰਪੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਅਗਨੀ ਆਪੁ ਜਲਾਈ ॥੪॥ tan man kaatt kaatt sabh arapee vich aganee aap jalaaee |4| I would cut my mind and body apart into pieces, and offer them all to You; I would burn myself in fire. ||4|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਖਾ ਫੇਰੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਢੋਵਾ ਜੋ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਖਾਈ ॥੫॥ pakhaa feree paanee dtovaa jo deveh so khaaee |5| I wave the fan over You, and carry water for You; whatever You give me, I take. ||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਢਹਿ ਪਇਆ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥੬॥ naanak gareeb dteh peaa duaarai har mel laihu vaddiaaee |6| Poor Nanak has fallen at the Lord’s Door; please, O Lord, unite me with Yourself, by Your Glorious Greatness. ||6|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਖੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਧਰੀ ਚਰਣਾ ਤਲਿ ਸਭ ਧਰਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਤ ਪਾਈ ॥੭॥ akhee kaadt dharee charanaa tal sabh dharatee fir mat paaee |7| Taking out my eyes, I place them at Your Feet; after travelling over the entire earth, I have come to understand this. ||7|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਪਾਸਿ ਬਹਾਲਹਿ ਤਾ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਅਰਾਧੀ ਜੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਢਹਿ ਭੀ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੮॥ je paas bahaaleh taa tujheh araadhee je maar kadteh bhee dhiaaee |8| If You seat me near You, then I worship and adore You. Even if You beat me and drive me out, I will still meditate on You. ||8|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਲੋਕੁ ਸਲਾਹੇ ਤਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜੇ ਨਿੰਦੈ ਤ ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੯॥ je lok salaahe taa teree upamaa je nindai ta chhodd na jaaee |9| If people praise me, the praise is Yours. Even if they slander me, I will not leave You. ||9|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਵਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਹੁ ਆਖਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਸਰਿਐ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੦॥ je tudh val rahai taa koee kihu aakhau tudh visariai mar jaaee |10| If You are on my side, then anyone can say anything. But if I were to forget You, then I would die. ||10|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਪੈ ਪੈਰੀ ਸੰਤ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੧੧॥ vaar vaar jaaee gur aoopar pai pairee sant manaaee |11| I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to my Guru; falling at His Feet, I surrender to the Saintly Guru. ||11|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਤਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥੧੨॥ naanak vichaaraa bheaa divaanaa har tau darasan kai taaee |12| Poor Nanak has gone insane, longing for the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. ||12|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਝਖੜੁ ਝਾਗੀ ਮੀਹੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਭੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਖਣ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੩॥ jhakharr jhaagee meehu varasai bhee gur dekhan jaaee |13| Even in violent storms and torrential rain, I go out to catch a glimpse of my Guru. ||13|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਖਾਰਾ ਗੁਰਸਿਖੁ ਲੰਘਿ ਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੪॥ samund saagar hovai bahu khaaraa gurasikh langh gur peh jaaee |14| Even though the oceans and the salty seas are very vast, the GurSikh will cross over it to get to his Guru. ||14|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੈ ਮਰਤਾ ਤਿਉ ਸਿਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧੫॥ jiau praanee jal bin hai marataa tiau sikh gur bin mar jaaee |15| Just as the mortal dies without water, so does the Sikh die without the Guru. ||15|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
