ਜੋ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਦੇ ਸੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥ jo gurasikh gur sevade se pun paraanee | Those Sikhs of the Guru, who serve the Guru, are the most blessed beings. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੧੦॥ jan naanak tin kau vaariaa sadaa sadaa kurabaanee |10| Servant Nanak is a sacrifice to them; He is forever and ever a sacrifice. ||10|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀਆ ਸੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈਆ ॥ guramukh sakhee saheleea se aap har bhaaeea | The Lord Himself is pleased with the Gurmukhs, the fellowship of the companions. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਨਾਈਆ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੧॥ har daragah painaaeea har aap gal laaeea |11| In the Lord’s Court, they are given robes of honor, and the Lord Himself hugs them close in His embrace. ||11|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥ jo guramukh naam dhiaaeide tin darasan deejai | Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Gurmukhs, who meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਮ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲਦੇ ਧੂੜਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਘੋਲਿ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੧੨॥ ham tin ke charan pakhaalade dhoorr ghol ghol peejai |12| I wash their feet, and drink in the dust of their feet, dissolved in the wash water. ||12|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਪਾਨ ਸੁਪਾਰੀ ਖਾਤੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਬੀੜੀਆ ਲਾਈਆ ॥ paan supaaree khaateea mukh beerreea laaeea | Those who eat betel nuts and betel leaf and smoke intoxicants, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਮਿ ਪਕੜਿ ਚਲਾਈਆ ॥੧੩॥ har har kade na chetio jam pakarr chalaaeea |13| but do not contemplate the Lord, Har, Har - the Messenger of Death will seize them and take them away. ||13|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ jin har naamaa har chetiaa hiradai ur dhaare | The Messenger of Death does not even approach those who contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤਿਨ ਜਮੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਗੁਰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧੪॥ tin jam nerr na aavee gurasikh gur piaare |14| And keep Him enshrined in their hearts. The Guru’s Sikhs are the Guru’s Beloveds. ||14|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ har kaa naam nidhaan hai koee guramukh jaanai | The Name of the Lord is a treasure, known only to the few Gurmukhs. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣੈ ॥੧੫॥ naanak jin satigur bhettiaa rang raleea maanai |15| O Nanak, those who meet with the True Guru, enjoy peace and pleasure. ||15|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਤੁਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਸਾਓ ॥ satigur daataa aakheeai tus kare pasaao | The True Guru is called the Giver; in His Mercy, He grants His Grace. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਦਿਤੜਾ ਨਾਓ ॥੧੬॥ hau gur vittahu sad vaariaa jin ditarraa naao |16| I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru, who has blessed me with the Lord’s Name. ||16|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਇ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥ so dhan guroo saabaas hai har dee sanehaa | Blessed, very blessed is the Guru, who brings the Lord’s message. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਵੇਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਗਸਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੇਹਾ ॥੧੭॥ hau vekh vekh guroo vigasiaa gur satigur dehaa |17| I gaze upon the Guru, the Guru, the True Guru embodied, and I blossom forth in bliss. ||17|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਗੁਰ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬੋਲਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ॥ gur rasanaa amrit boladee har naam suhaavee | The Guru’s tongue recites Words of Ambrosial Nectar; He is adorned with the Lord’s Name. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਸੁਣਿ ਸਿਖਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਸਭ ਜਾਵੀ ॥੧੮॥ jin sun sikhaa gur maniaa tinaa bhukh sabh jaavee |18| Those Sikhs who hear and obey the Guru - all their desires depart. ||18|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਹੁ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ har kaa maarag aakheeai kahu kit bidh jaaeeai | Some speak of the Lord’s Path; tell me, how can I walk on it? - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧੯॥ har har teraa naam hai har kharach lai jaaeeai |19| O Lord, Har, Har, Your Name is my supplies; I will take it with me and set out. ||19|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਾਹ ਵਡ ਦਾਣੇ ॥ jin guramukh har aaraadhiaa se saah vadd daane | Those Gurmukhs who worship and adore the Lord, are wealthy and very wise. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥੨੦॥ hau satigur kau sad vaariaa gur bachan samaane |20| I am forever a sacrifice to the True Guru; I am absorbed in the Words of the Guru’s Teachings. ||20|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੋ ਤੂਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੀਰਾ ॥ too tthaakur too saahibo toohai meraa meeraa | You are the Master, my Lord and Master; You are my Ruler and King. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਤੂ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰਾ ॥੨੧॥ tudh bhaavai teree bandagee too gunee gaheeraa |21| If it is pleasing to Your Will, then I worship and serve You; You are the treasure of virtue. ||21|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੀ ॥ aape har ik rang hai aape bahu rangee | The Lord Himself is absolute; He is The One and Only; but He Himself is also manifested in many forms. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਾਈ ਗਲ ਚੰਗੀ ॥੨੨॥੨॥ jo tis bhaavai naanakaa saaee gal changee |22|2| Whatever pleases Him, O Nanak, that alone is good. ||22||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਚੇਤਨਾ ਹੈ ਤਉ ਚੇਤ ਲੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਿਨਿ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥ chetanaa hai tau chet lai nis din mai praanee | If you are conscious, then be conscious of Him night and day, O mortal. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਛਿਨੁ ਛਿਨੁ ਅਉਧ ਬਿਹਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਫੂਟੈ ਘਟ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ chhin chhin aaudh bihaat hai foottai ghatt jiau paanee |1| rahaau | Each and every moment, your life is passing away, like water from a cracked pitcher. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਕਾਹਿ ਨ ਗਾਵਹੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ॥ har gun kaeh na gaavahee moorakh agiaanaa | Why do you not sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, you ignorant fool? - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਝੂਠੈ ਲਾਲਚਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਕੈ ਨਹਿ ਮਰਨੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ jhootthai laalach laag kai neh maran pachhaanaa |1| You are attached to false greed, and you do not even consider death. ||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਅਜਹੂ ਕਛੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ajahoo kachh bigario nahee jo prabh gun gaavai | Even now, no harm has been done, if you will only sing God’s Praises. - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਭਜਨ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੧॥ kahu naanak tih bhajan te nirabhai pad paavai |2|1| Says Nanak, by meditating and vibrating upon Him, you shall obtain the state of fearlessness. ||2||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

ਜੋ ਤਨੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਸੰਗ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਭੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jo tan upajiaa sang hee so bhee sang na hoeaa |1| rahaau | That body, which you were born with, shall not go along with you in the end. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧ ਜਨ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਸਿਉ ਕੀਨਾ ॥ maat pitaa sut bandh jan hit jaa siau keenaa | Mother, father, children and relatives whom you love, - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
ਜੀਉ ਛੂਟਿਓ ਜਬ ਦੇਹ ਤੇ ਡਾਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਮੈ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੧॥ jeeo chhoottio jab deh te ddaar agan mai deenaa |1| will throw your body into the fire, when your soul departs from it. ||1|| - Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
