ਜੋ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸੇਵਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਸਾਇਣ ॥ jo maageh soee soee paaveh sev har ke charan rasaaein | Whatever I ask for, I receive; I serve at the Lord’s feet, the source of nectar. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਹਹੂ ਤੇ ਛੂਟਹਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ janam maran duhahoo te chhootteh bhavajal jagat taraaein |1| I am released from the bondage of birth and death, and so I cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਦਾਸ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਪਰਾਇਣ ॥ khojat khojat tat beechaario daas govind paraaein | Searching and seeking, I have come to understand the essence of reality; the slave of the Lord of the Universe is dedicated to Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਖੇਮ ਚਾਹਹਿ ਜੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥੨॥੫॥੧੦॥ abinaasee khem chaaheh je naanak sadaa simar naaraaein |2|5|10| If you desire eternal bliss, O Nanak, ever remember the Lord in meditation. ||2||5||10|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਿਵ ਕੈ ਬਾਣਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ paarabraham prabh bhe deaalaa siv kai baan sir kaattio |1| rahaau | The Supreme Lord God has become merciful; with Shiva’s arrow, He shot his head off. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਚ ਕਾ ਪੰਥਾ ਥਾਟਿਓ ॥ kaal jaal jam johi na saakai sach kaa panthaa thaattio | Death, and the noose of death, cannot see me; I have adopted the Path of Truth. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਿਖੁਟਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿਓ ॥੧॥ khaat kharachat kichh nikhuttat naahee raam ratan dhan khaattio |1| I have earned the wealth, the jewel of the Lord’s Name; eating and spending, it is never used up. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਭਸਮਾ ਭੂਤ ਹੋਆ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ bhasamaa bhoot hoaa khin bheetar apanaa keea paaeaa | In an instant, the slanderer was reduced to ashes; he received the rewards of his own actions. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਗਮ ਨਿਗਮੁ ਕਹੈ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਭੁ ਦੇਖੈ ਲੋਕੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੬॥੧੧॥ aagam nigam kahai jan naanak sabh dekhai lok sabaaeaa |2|6|11| Servant Nanak speaks the truth of the scriptures; the whole world is witness to it. ||2||6||11|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਿਰਪਨ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਭਰੇ ॥ kirapan tan man kilavikh bhare | O miser, your body and mind are full of sin. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਢਾਕਨ ਕਉ ਇਕੁ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ saadhasang bhajan kar suaamee dtaakan kau ik hare |1| rahaau | In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, vibrate, meditate on the Lord and Master; He alone can cover your sins. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਨਿਕ ਛਿਦ੍ਰ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਕੇ ਛੁਟਕਤ ਥਾਮ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਕਰੇ ॥ anik chhidr bohith ke chhuttakat thaam na jaahee kare | When many holes appear in your boat, you cannot plug them with your hands. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਖੋਟੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਖਰੇ ॥੧॥ jis kaa bohith tis aaraadhe khotte sang khare |1| Worship and adore the One, to whom your boat belongs; He saves the counterfeit along with the genuine. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗਲੀ ਸੈਲ ਉਠਾਵਤ ਚਾਹੈ ਓਇ ਊਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਧਰੇ ॥ galee sail utthaavat chaahai oe aoohaa hee hai dhare | People want to lift up the mountain with mere words, but it just stays there. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋਰੁ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੨॥ jor sakat naanak kichh naahee prabh raakhahu saran pare |2|7|12| Nanak has no strength or power at all; O God, please protect me - I seek Your Sanctuary. ||2||7||12|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਾਢਿ ਕੁਠਾਰੁ ਪਿਤ ਬਾਤ ਹੰਤਾ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kaadt kutthaar pit baat hantaa aaukhadh har ko naau |1| rahaau | The Name of the Lord is the medicine; it is like an axe, which destroys the diseases caused by anger and egotism. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤੀਨੇ ਤਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਦੁਖ ਹੰਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ teene taap nivaaranahaaraa dukh hantaa sukh raas | The Lord is the One who removes the three fevers; He is the Destroyer of pain, the warehouse of peace. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ taa kau bighan na koaoo laagai jaa kee prabh aagai aradaas |1| No obstacles block the path of one who prays before God. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਬੈਦ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਏਕ ॥ sant prasaad baid naaraaein karan kaaran prabh ek | By the Grace of the Saints, the Lord has become my physician; God alone is the Doer, the Cause of causes. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਬਾਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੨॥੮॥੧੩॥ baal budh pooran sukhadaataa naanak har har ttek |2|8|13| He is the Giver of perfect peace to the innocent-minded people; O Nanak, the Lord, Har, Har, is my support. ||2||8||13|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਸਦੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਆਪਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dhaar anugrahu paarabraham suaamee vasadee keenee aap |1| rahaau | Showering His Kind Mercy, the Supreme Lord God Himself has blessed the town. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਸੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸਮੑਾਲੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਸੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥ jis ke se fir tin hee samaale binase sog santaap | The One who owns me, has again taken care of me; my sorrow and suffering is past. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਜਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਏ ਮਾਈ ਬਾਪ ॥੧॥ haath dee raakhe jan apane har hoe maaee baap |1| He gave me His hand, and saved me, His humble servant; the Lord is my mother and father. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਹੋਏ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨਾ ਦਯਾ ਧਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਥ ॥ jeea jant hoe miharavaanaa dayaa dhaaree har naath | All beings and creatures have become kind to me; my Lord and Master blessed me with His Kind Mercy. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬਡ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥੯॥੧੪॥ naanak saran pare dukh bhanjan jaa kaa badd parataap |2|9|14| Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord, the Destroyer of pain; His glory is so great! ||2||9||14|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਚਿ ਬੰਧਿ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ saadhasang param gat paaeeai maaeaa rach bandh haare |1| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the supreme state is attained. But those who are engrossed in the bondage of Maya, lose the game of life. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
