ਭਾਹਿ ਬਲੰਦੜੀ ਬੁਝਿ ਗਈ ਰਖੰਦੜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ bhaeh balandarree bujh gee rakhandarro prabh aap | The burning fire has been put out; God Himself has saved me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਮੇਦਨੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਪਿ ॥੨॥ jin upaaee medanee naanak so prabh jaap |2| Meditate on that God, O Nanak, who created the universe. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕੋਟਿ ਅਘਾ ਗਏ ਨਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ kott aghaa ge naas har ik dhiaaeaa | Millions of sins are eliminated, by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the One Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭਏ ਸਰੀਰ ਜਨ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਇਆ ॥ niramal bhe sareer jan dhooree naaeaa | The body is made immaculate and pure, bathing in the dust of the feet of the Lord’s humble servants. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭਏ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ man tan bhe santokh pooran prabh paaeaa | The mind and body become contented, finding the Perfect Lord God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਗੁਰ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਮਰਥ ਗੁਰ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਣਹ ॥੧॥ gur deaal samarath gur gur naanak patit udhaaranah |1| The Guru is compassionate; the Guru is all-powerful; the Guru, O Nanak, is the Saving Grace of sinners. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਜਬ ਭਏ ਤ ਅਵਗੁਣ ਸਭਿ ਛਪੇ ॥ gur kripaal jab bhe ta avagun sabh chhape | When the Guru becomes merciful, then all one’s demerits are dispelled. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਦੁਖ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਅਪ ਦਸੇ ॥ kaatt silak dukh maaeaa kar leene ap dase | Cutting away the painful noose of Maya, He makes us His own slaves. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੰਤ ਏਕੋ ਸੁਨੀਅੰਤ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੰਤ ਏਕੋ ਨਰਹਰਹ ॥ drisattant eko suneeant eko varatant eko naraharah | I see only the One Lord; I hear only the One Lord; the One Lord is all-pervading. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਜਾਚੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹ ॥੧॥ naam daan jaachant naanak deaal purakh kripaa karah |1| Nanak begs for the gift of the Naam; O Merciful Lord God, please grant Your Grace. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਮ ਵਖਰੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੨॥ naam vakhar dhan sanchiaa naanak sachee raas |2| Nanak has gathered in the wealth, the merchandise of the Naam; this is the true capital. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਹਾ ਕੇਹੁ ॥ sabh kichh aape aap doojaa kahaa kehu | He Himself is all-in-all. Who else can we speak of? - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਪਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥ aap karahu prabh daan aape aap lehu | God Himself grants His gifts, and He Himself receives them. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਥੇਹੁ ॥ aavan jaanaa hukam sabh nihachal tudh thehu | Coming and going are all by the Hukam of Your Will; Your place is steady and unchanging. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ॥੨੦॥੧॥ naanak mangai daan kar kirapaa naam dehu |20|1| Nanak begs for this gift; by Your Grace, Lord, please grant me Your Name. ||20||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਹਮ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕੇ ਕਾਮੀ ॥੧॥ ham kaheeat kalijug ke kaamee |1| I am called a lustful being of the Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਪਲੁ ਪਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਤੇ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਪਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥ pal pal har jee te antar paario |2| Moment by moment, they lead me further away from the Lord. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਜਤ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਦੁਖ ਕੀ ਰਾਸੀ ॥ jat dekhau tat dukh kee raasee | Wherever I look, I see loads of pain and suffering. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਅਜੌਂ ਨ ਪਤੵਾਇ ਨਿਗਮ ਭਏ ਸਾਖੀ ॥੩॥ ajauan na patayaae nigam bhe saakhee |3| I do not have faith, even though the Vedas bear witness to the Lord. ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਗੋਤਮ ਨਾਰਿ ਉਮਾਪਤਿ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ॥ gotam naar umaapat svaamee | Shiva cut off Brahma’s head, and Gautam’s wife and the Lord Indra mated; - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਸੀਸੁ ਧਰਨਿ ਸਹਸ ਭਗ ਗਾਂਮੀ ॥੪॥ sees dharan sehas bhag gaamee |4| Brahma’s head got stuck to Shiva’s hand, and Indra came to bear the marks of a thousand female organs. ||4|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਇਨ ਦੂਤਨ ਖਲੁ ਬਧੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥ ein dootan khal badh kar maario | These demons have fooled, bound and destroyed me. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਬਡੋ ਨਿਲਾਜੁ ਅਜਹੂ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥੫॥ baddo nilaaj ajahoo nahee haario |5| I am very shameless - even now, I am not tired of them. ||5|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
