ਪਿੰਧੀ ਉਭਕਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ pindhee ubhakale sansaaraa | Like the pots on the Persian wheel, sometimes the world is high, and sometimes it is low. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਤੁਮ ਚੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥ bhram bhram aae tum che duaaraa | Wandering and roaming around, I have come at last to Your Door. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਤੂ ਕੁਨੁ ਰੇ ॥ too kun re | “Who are you?” - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਮੈ ਜੀ ॥ ਨਾਮਾ ॥ ਹੋ ਜੀ ॥ mai jee | naamaa | ho jee | “I am Naam Dayv, Sir.” - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਆਲਾ ਤੇ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਾ ਜਮ ਕਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥੪॥ aalaa te nivaaranaa jam kaaranaa |3|4| O Lord, please save me from Maya, the cause of death. ||3||4|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਮਾਧਉ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥ patit paavan maadhau birad teraa | O Lord, You are the Purifier of sinners - this is Your innate nature. - Bhagat Namdev Ji
ਧੰਨਿ ਤੇ ਵੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਧਿਆਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ dhan te vai mun jan jin dhiaaeo har prabh meraa |1| Blessed are those silent sages and humble beings, who meditate on my Lord God. ||1|| - Bhagat Namdev Ji

ਚਰਨ ਸਰਨ ਨਾਮਾ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੫॥ charan saran naamaa bal tihaaree |2|5|

ਹਮ ਸਰਿ ਦੀਨੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਨ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਬ ਪਤੀਆਰੁ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ham sar deen deaal na tum sar ab pateeaar kiaa keejai | There is none as forlorn as I am, and none as Compassionate as You; what need is there to test us now? - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਮਨੁ ਸੁ ਮਧੁਕਰੁ ਕਰਉ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਧਰਉ ਰਸਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਭਾਖਉ ॥੧॥ man su madhukar krau charan hirade dhrau rasan amrit raam naam bhaakhau |1| My mind is the bumble bee; I enshrine Your feet within my heart, and with my tongue, I chant the Ambrosial Name of the Lord. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਿਨਾ ਭਾਉ ਨਹੀ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਵ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਇ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ saadhasangat binaa bhaau nahee aoopajai bhaav bin bhagat nahee hoe teree | Without the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, love for the Lord does not well up; without this love, Your devotional worship cannot be performed. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਝੂਠੇ ਸਗਲ ਪਾਸਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har ke naam bin jhootthe sagal paasaare |1| rahaau | Without the Name of the Lord, all ostentatious displays are useless. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਆਸਨੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਉਰਸਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੇਸਰੋ ਲੇ ਛਿਟਕਾਰੇ ॥ naam tero aasano naam tero urasaa naam teraa kesaro le chhittakaare | Your Name is my prayer mat, and Your Name is the stone to grind the sandalwood. Your Name is the saffron which I take and sprinkle in offering to You. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਭੁਲਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਚੰਦਨੋ ਘਸਿ ਜਪੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੇ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਕਉ ਚਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ naam teraa anbhulaa naam tero chandano ghas jape naam le tujheh kau chaare |1| Your Name is the water, and Your Name is the sandalwood. The chanting of Your Name is the grinding of the sandalwood. I take it and offer all this to You. ||1|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਬਾਤੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਤੇਲੁ ਲੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥ naam teraa deevaa naam tero baatee naam tero tel le maeh pasaare | Your Name is the lamp, and Your Name is the wick. Your Name is the oil I pour into it. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਲਗਾਈ ਭਇਓ ਉਜਿਆਰੋ ਭਵਨ ਸਗਲਾਰੇ ॥੨॥ naam tere kee jot lagaaee bheo ujiaaro bhavan sagalaare |2| Your Name is the light applied to this lamp, which enlightens and illuminates the entire world. ||2|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਤਾਗਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਫੂਲ ਮਾਲਾ ਭਾਰ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਸਗਲ ਜੂਠਾਰੇ ॥ naam tero taagaa naam fool maalaa bhaar atthaarah sagal jootthaare | Your Name is the thread, and Your Name is the garland of flowers. The eighteen loads of vegetation are all too impure to offer to You. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਤੇਰੋ ਕੀਆ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਕਿਆ ਅਰਪਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੁਹੀ ਚਵਰ ਢੋਲਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ tero keea tujheh kiaa arpau naam teraa tuhee chavar dtolaare |3| Why should I offer to You, that which You Yourself created? Your Name is the fan, which I wave over You. ||3|| - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
ਦਸ ਅਠਾ ਅਠਸਠੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਖਾਣੀ ਇਹੈ ਵਰਤਣਿ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥ das atthaa atthasatthe chaare khaanee ihai varatan hai sagal sansaare | The whole world is engrossed in the eighteen Puraanas, the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and the four sources of creation. - Bhagat Ravidas Ji
