ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੂੰਦ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਮ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਬਿਲਲ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥ har har boond bhe har suaamee ham chaatrik bilal bilalaatee | The Lord, Har, Har, is the rain-drop; I am the song-bird, crying, crying out for it. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਮਖਾਤੀ ॥੧॥ har har kripaa karahu prabh apanee mukh devahu har nimakhaatee |1| O Lord God, please bless me with Your Mercy, and pour Your Name into my mouth, even if for only an instant. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਇਕ ਰਾਤੀ ॥ har bin reh na skau ik raatee | Without the Lord, I cannot live for even a second. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਿਉ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਮਲੈ ਅਮਲੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਮ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jiau bin amalai amalee mar jaaee hai tiau har bin ham mar jaatee | rahaau | Like the addict who dies without his drug, I die without the Lord. ||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਵਰ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਾਹ ਹਮ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਮਾਤੀ ॥ tum har saravar at agaah ham leh na sakeh ant maatee | You, Lord, are the deepest, most unfathomable ocean; I cannot find even a trace of Your limits. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੂ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਿਤਿ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਗਾਤੀ ॥੨॥ too parai parai aparanpar suaamee mit jaanahu aapan gaatee |2| You are the most remote of the remote, limitless and transcendent; O Lord Master, You alone know Your state and extent. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲੈ ਰਾਤੀ ॥ har ke sant janaa har japio gur rang chaloolai raatee | The Lord’s humble Saints meditate on the Lord; they are imbued with the deep crimson color of the Guru’s Love. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਨੀ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਓ ਊਤਮ ਪਾਤੀ ॥੩॥ har har bhagat banee at sobhaa har japio aootam paatee |3| Meditating on the Lord, they attain great glory, and the most sublime honor. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਆਪੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਵੈ ਭਾਤੀ ॥ aape tthaakur aape sevak aap banaavai bhaatee | He Himself is the Lord and Master, and He Himself is the servant; He Himself creates His environments. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਲਾਜ ਭਗਾਤੀ ॥੪॥੫॥ naanak jan tumaree saranaaee har raakhahu laaj bhagaatee |4|5| Servant Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary, O Lord; protect and preserve the honor of Your devotee. ||4||5|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਬਚਨਾਕੀ ॥ har ke sevak se har piaare jin japio har bachanaakee | The Lord’s servants are very dear to the Lord; they chant the Word of the Lord’s Bani. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਲੇਖਾ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਪਤਿ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸਭ ਛੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਬਾਕੀ ॥੨॥ lekhaa chitr gupat jo likhiaa sabh chhoottee jam kee baakee |2| The account of the recording angels, Chitr and Gupt, and the account with the Messenger of Death is totally erased. ||2|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਪਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ॥ har ke sant japio man har har lag sangat saadh janaa kee | The Saints of the Lord meditate on the Lord in their minds; they join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਦਿਨੀਅਰੁ ਸੂਰੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਨੀ ਸਿਵ ਚਰਿਓ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੰਦਾਕੀ ॥੩॥ dineear soor trisanaa agan bujhaanee siv chario chand chandaakee |3| The piercing sun of desires has set, and the cool moon has risen. ||3|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਤੁਮ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਡ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਅਪਾਕੀ ॥ tum vadd purakh vadd agam agochar tum aape aap apaakee | You are the Greatest Being, absolutely unapproachable and unfathomable; You created the Universe from Your Own Being. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਕੀ ॥੪॥੬॥ jan naanak kau prabh kirapaa keejai kar daasan daas dasaakee |4|6| O God, take pity on servant Nanak, and make him the slave of the slave of Your slaves. ||4||6|| - Guru Ramdas Ji

ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਰਮੋ ਰਮੁ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਨੇ ॥ aur dhaar beechaar muraar ramo ram manamohan naam japeene | Enshrine the Lord within your heart, and contemplate Him. Dwell upon Him, reflect upon Him, and chant the Name of the Lord, the Enticer of hearts. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੧॥ adrisatt agochar aparanpar suaamee gur poorai pragatt kar deene |1| The Lord Master is unseen, unfathomable and unreachable; through the Perfect Guru, He is revealed. ||1|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਰਾਮ ਪਾਰਸ ਚੰਦਨ ਹਮ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਸਟ ॥ raam paaras chandan ham kaasatt losatt | The Lord is the philosopher’s stone, which transforms lead into gold, and sandalwood, while I am just dry wood and iron. - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰੀ ਸਤਸੰਗੁ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਕੀਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ har sang haree satasang bhe har kanchan chandan keene |1| rahaau | Associating with the Lord, and the Sat Sangat, the Lord’s True Congregation, the Lord has transformed me into gold and sandalwood. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Ramdas Ji
ਨਵ ਛਿਅ ਖਟੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਮੁਖ ਆਗਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਵ ਨ ਪਤੀਨੇ ॥ nav chhia khatt boleh mukh aagar meraa har prabh iv na pateene | One may repeat, verbatim, the nine grammars and the six Shaastras, but my Lord God is not pleased by this. - Guru Ramdas Ji
