ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਿਹ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੪॥੩॥ kahu kabeer jan bhe khaalase prem bhagat jih jaanee |4|3| Says Kabeer, those humble people become pure - they become Khalsa - who know the Lord’s loving devotional worship. ||4||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji

ਦੁਇ ਦੁਇ ਲੋਚਨ ਪੇਖਾ ॥ due due lochan pekhaa | With both of my eyes, I look around; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਦੇਖਾ ॥ hau har bin aaur na dekhaa | I don’t see anything except the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨੈਨ ਰਹੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਈ ॥ nain rahe rang laaee | My eyes gaze lovingly upon Him, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਬੇ ਗਲ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ab be gal kehan na jaaee |1| and now, I cannot speak of anything else. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਮਰਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥ hamaraa bharam geaa bhau bhaagaa | My doubts were removed, and my fear ran away, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਬ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jab raam naam chit laagaa |1| rahaau | when my consciousness became attached to the Lord’s Name. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਜੀਗਰ ਡੰਕ ਬਜਾਈ ॥ baajeegar ddank bajaaee | When the magician beats his tambourine, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭ ਖਲਕ ਤਮਾਸੇ ਆਈ ॥ sabh khalak tamaase aaee | everyone comes to see the show. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਾਜੀਗਰ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗੁ ਸਕੇਲਾ ॥ baajeegar svaang sakelaa | When the magician winds up his show, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਪਨੇ ਰੰਗ ਰਵੈ ਅਕੇਲਾ ॥੨॥ apane rang ravai akelaa |2| then he enjoys its play all alone. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਥਨੀ ਕਹਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥ kathanee keh bharam na jaaee | By preaching sermons, one’s doubt is not dispelled. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭ ਕਥਿ ਕਥਿ ਰਹੀ ਲੁਕਾਈ ॥ sabh kath kath rahee lukaaee | Everyone is tired of preaching and teaching. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ jaa kau guramukh aap bujhaaee | The Lord causes the Gurmukh to understand; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੩॥ taa ke hiradai rahiaa samaaee |3| his heart remains permeated with the Lord. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਗੁਰ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਨੀ ॥ gur kinchat kirapaa keenee | When the Guru grants even a bit of His Grace, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਭੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਦੇਹ ਹਰਿ ਲੀਨੀ ॥ sabh tan man deh har leenee | one’s body, mind and entire being are absorbed into the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ keh kabeer rang raataa | Says Kabeer, I am imbued with the Lord’s Love; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮਿਲਿਓ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤਾ ॥੪॥੪॥ milio jagajeevan daataa |4|4| I have met with the Life of the world, the Great Giver. ||4||4|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਗਮ ਦੂਧ ਕੇ ਠਾਟਾ ॥ jaa ke nigam doodh ke tthaattaa | Let the sacred scriptures be your milk and cream, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਬਿਲੋਵਨ ਕਉ ਮਾਟਾ ॥ samund bilovan kau maattaa | and the ocean of the mind the churning vat. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੋਹੁ ਬਿਲੋਵਨਹਾਰੀ ॥ taa kee hohu bilovanahaaree | Be the butter-churner of the Lord, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਉ ਮੇਟੈ ਗੋ ਛਾਛਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ kiau mettai go chhaachh tuhaaree |1| and your buttermilk shall not be wasted. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਕਰਸਿ ਭਤਾਰਾ ॥ cheree too raam na karas bhataaraa | O soul-bride slave, why don’t you take the Lord as your Husband? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ jagajeevan praan adhaaraa |1| rahaau | He is the Life of the world, the Support of the breath of life. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੇਰੇ ਗਲਹਿ ਤਉਕੁ ਪਗ ਬੇਰੀ ॥ tere galeh tauk pag beree | The chain is around your neck, and the cuffs are on your feet. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੂ ਘਰ ਘਰ ਰਮਈਐ ਫੇਰੀ ॥ too ghar ghar rameeai feree | The Lord has sent you wandering around from house to house. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੂ ਅਜਹੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਸਿ ਚੇਰੀ ॥ too ajahu na chetas cheree | And still, you do not meditate on the Lord, O soul-bride, slave. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਤੂ ਜਮਿ ਬਪੁਰੀ ਹੈ ਹੇਰੀ ॥੨॥ too jam bapuree hai heree |2| Death is watching you, O wretched woman. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰੀ ॥ prabh karan karaavanahaaree | The Lord God is the Cause of causes. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਆ ਚੇਰੀ ਹਾਥ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥ kiaa cheree haath bichaaree | What is in the hands of the poor soul-bride, the slave? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਗੀ ॥ soee soee jaagee | She awakens from her slumber, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੩॥ jit laaee tith laagee |3| and she becomes attached to whatever the Lord attaches her. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਚੇਰੀ ਤੈ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਕਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥ cheree tai sumat kahaan te paaee | O soul-bride, slave, where did you obtain that wisdom, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੀ ਲੀਕ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥ jaa te bhram kee leek mittaaee | by which you erased your inscription of doubt? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੁ ਰਸੁ ਕਬੀਰੈ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ su ras kabeerai jaaniaa | Kabeer has tasted that subtle essence; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੇਰੋ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੫॥ mero gur prasaad man maaniaa |4|5| by Guru’s Grace, his mind is reconciled with the Lord. ||4||5|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਿਹ ਬਾਝੁ ਨ ਜੀਆ ਜਾਈ ॥ jih baajh na jeea jaaee | Without Him, we cannot even live; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਤ ਘਾਲ ਅਘਾਈ ॥ jau milai ta ghaal aghaaee | when we meet Him, then our task is completed. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਭਲੋ ਕਹਾਂਹੀ ॥ sad jeevan bhalo kahaanhee | People say it is good to live forever, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਮੂਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ mooe bin jeevan naahee |1| but without dying, there is no life. ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਥੀਐ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ ab kiaa katheeai giaan beechaaraa | So now, what sort wisdom should I contemplate and preach? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਨਿਜ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਗਤ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ nij nirakhat gat biauhaaraa |1| rahaau | As I watch, worldly things dissipate. ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਘਸਿ ਕੁੰਕਮ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਗਾਰਿਆ ॥ ghas kunkam chandan gaariaa | Saffron is ground up, and mixed with sandalwood; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਆ ॥ bin nainahu jagat nihaariaa | without eyes, the world is seen. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੂਤਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਇਕੁ ਜਾਇਆ ॥ poot pitaa ik jaaeaa | The son has given birth to his father; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਬਿਨੁ ਠਾਹਰ ਨਗਰੁ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ bin tthaahar nagar basaaeaa |2| without a place, the city has been established. ||2|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਾਚਕ ਜਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ jaachak jan daataa paaeaa | The humble beggar has found the Great Giver, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਦੀਆ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਖਾਇਆ ॥ so deea na jaaee khaaeaa | but he is unable to eat what he has been given. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਛੋਡਿਆ ਜਾਇ ਨ ਮੂਕਾ ॥ chhoddiaa jaae na mookaa | He cannot leave it alone, but it is never exhausted. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਅਉਰਨ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਨਾ ਚੂਕਾ ॥੩॥ aauran peh jaanaa chookaa |3| He shall not go to beg from others any longer. ||3|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜੋ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਰਨਾ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ jo jeevan maranaa jaanai | Those select few, who know how to die while yet alive, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਸੋ ਪੰਚ ਸੈਲ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨੈ ॥ so panch sail sukh maanai | Enjoy great peace. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਬੀਰੈ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ kabeerai so dhan paaeaa | Kabeer has found that wealth; - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਭੇਟਤ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੬॥ har bhettat aap mittaaeaa |4|6| meeting with the Lord, he has erased his self-conceit. ||4||6|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਆ ਪੜੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਗੁਨੀਐ ॥ kiaa parreeai kiaa guneeai | What use is it to read, and what use is it to study? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਆ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ਸੁਨੀਐ ॥ kiaa bed puraanaan suneeai | What use is it to listen to the Vedas and the Puraanas? - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਪੜੇ ਸੁਨੇ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥ parre sune kiaa hoee | What use is reading and listening, - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਜਉ ਸਹਜ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ jau sehaj na milio soee |1| if celestial peace is not attained? ||1|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਪਸਿ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ har kaa naam na japas gavaaraa | The fool does not chant the Name of the Lord. - Bhagat Kabir Ji
ਕਿਆ ਸੋਚਹਿ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ kiaa socheh baaran baaraa |1| rahaau | So what does he think of, over and over again? ||1||Pause|| - Bhagat Kabir Ji
