ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ sabh jeea tere deaalaa | All beings are Yours, O Merciful Lord. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥ apane bhagat kareh pratipaalaa | You cherish Your devotees. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਅਚਰਜੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ acharaj teree vaddiaaee | Your glorious greatness is wonderful and marvellous. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਿਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੨॥੨੩॥੮੭॥ nit naanak naam dhiaaee |2|23|87| Nanak ever meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||23||87|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਨਾਲਿ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਮੇਰੈ ॥ naal naraaein merai | The Lord is always with me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਮਦੂਤੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੈ ॥ jamadoot na aavai nerai | The Messenger of Death does not approach me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ kantth laae prabh raakhai | God holds me close in His embrace, and protects me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਖੈ ॥੧॥ satigur kee sach saakhai |1| True are the Teachings of the True Guru. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ॥ gur poorai pooree keetee | The Perfect Guru has done it perfectly. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦੁਸਮਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਵਿਡਾਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੀਤੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ dusaman maar viddaare sagale daas kau sumat deetee |1| rahaau | He has beaten and driven off my enemies, and given me, His slave, the sublime understanding of the neutral mind. ||1||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਥਾਨ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ prabh sagale thaan vasaae | God has blessed all places with prosperity. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੁਖਿ ਸਾਂਦਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਏ ॥ sukh saand fir aae | I have returned again safe and sound. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਏ ॥ naanak prabh saranaae | Nanak has entered God’s Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਾਏ ॥੨॥੨੪॥੮੮॥ jin sagale rog mittaae |2|24|88| It has eradicated all disease. ||2||24||88|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ sarab sukhaa kaa daataa satigur taa kee saranee paaeeai | The True Guru is the Giver of all peace and comfort - seek His Sanctuary. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਹੋਤ ਅਨੰਦਾ ਦੂਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ darasan bhettat hot anandaa dookh geaa har gaaeeai |1| Beholding the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, bliss ensues, pain is dispelled, and one sings the Lord’s Praises. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ har ras peevahu bhaaee | Drink in the sublime essence of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ naam japahu naamo aaraadhahu gur poore kee saranaaee | rahaau | Chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord; worship the Naam in adoration, and enter the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਪੂਰਨੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ tiseh paraapat jis dhur likhiaa soee pooran bhaaee | Only one who has such pre-ordained destiny receives it; he alone becomes perfect, O Siblings of Destiny. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੫॥੮੯॥ naanak kee benantee prabh jee naam rahaa liv laaee |2|25|89| Nanak’s prayer, O Dear God, is to remain lovingly absorbed in the Naam. ||2||25||89|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ karan karaavan har antarajaamee jan apune kee raakhai | The Lord is the Cause of Causes, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; He preserves the honor of His servant. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਜਗ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੧॥ jai jai kaar hot jag bheetar sabad guroo ras chaakhai |1| He is hailed and congratulated throughout the world, and he tastes the sublime essence of the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਮੑ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ too samarath saran kaa daataa aatth pehar tuma dhiaaee | rahaau | You are all-powerful, the Giver of Sanctuary; twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on You. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ jo jan bhajan kare prabh teraa tisai andesaa naahee | That humble being, who vibrates upon You, O God, is not afflicted by anxiety. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਲਗੇ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਏ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ satigur charan lage bhau mittiaa har gun gaae man maahee |2| Attached to the Feet of the True Guru, his fear is dispelled, and within his mind, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਘਨੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ॥ sookh sehaj aanand ghanere satigur deea dilaasaa | He abides in celestial peace and utter ecstasy; the True Guru has comforted him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜਿਣਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ॥੩॥ jin ghar aae sobhaa setee pooran hoee aasaa |3| He has returned home victorious, with honor, and his hopes have been fulfilled. ||3|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਕਾਮਾ ॥ pooraa gur pooree mat jaa kee pooran prabh ke kaamaa | Perfect are the Teachings of the Perfect Guru; Perfect are the actions of God. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਤਰਿਓ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੨੬॥੯੦॥ gur charanee laag tario bhav saagar jap naanak har har naamaa |4|26|90| Grasping hold of the Guru’s feet, Nanak has crossed over the terrifying world-ocean, chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||26||90|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਭਇਓ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਧਿ ਥਾਟੀ ॥ bheo kirapaal deen dukh bhanjan aape sabh bidh thaattee | Becoming merciful, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor has Himself devised all devices. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੈ ਬੇੜੀ ਕਾਟੀ ॥੧॥ khin meh raakh leeo jan apunaa gur poorai berree kaattee |1| In an instant, He has saved His humble servant; the Perfect Guru has cut away his bonds. ||1|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥ mere man gur govind sad dhiaaeeai | O my mind, meditate forever on the Guru, the Lord of the Universe. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਗਲ ਕਲੇਸ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ sagal kales mitteh is tan te man chindiaa fal paaeeai | rahaau | All illness shall depart from this body, and you shall obtain the fruits of your mind’s desires. ||Pause|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ jeea jant jaa ke sabh keene prabh aoochaa agam apaaraa | God created all beings and creatures; He is lofty, inaccessible and infinite. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਏ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੨੭॥੯੧॥ saadhasang naanak naam dhiaaeaa mukh aoojal bhe darabaaraa |2|27|91| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; his face is radiant in the Court of the Lord. ||2||27||91|| - Guru Arjan Dev Ji

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਦ ਧਿਆਈ ॥ dinas rain sad dhiaaee | Day and night, I ever meditate on Him. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥ haath dee jin raakhe | He gave me His hand, and protected me. - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
